Shortly after John Kennedy, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and Lauren Bessette's remians were found a few miles off the coast of Gay Head, they were all buried at sea. A private service was held on the USS Briscoe for the Kennedy's and Bessette's.

On Thursday and Friday there were a number of memorial services for the three passengers of JFK Jr.'s Piper Saratoga accross the country. Most notably was the service Thursday night that drew thousands to the Old St. Pats Cathdral. Friday 350 people, including the Kennedy family, the parents of the Bessette women, and other friends of John and Carolyn, streamed into the Church of St. Thomas More in Manhattan.
