CONCORD, N.H.—A federal judge has dismissed a Nashua, New Hampshire man's legal claim that John McCain is ineligible to run for president because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone.

After a one-hour hearing Thursday in U.S. District Court in Concord, Judge Joseph LaPlante ruled that Fred Hollander lacked legal standing to bring the complaint.

LaPlante rejected the claim of Hollander that as a Republican supporting another unidentified candidate, McCain's victory in the New Hampshire primary and elsewhere disenfranchised Hollander's vote.

Hollander, a computer programmer, said he hasn't yet decided if he'll appeal to the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston.
