Cain gets cheers and wide berth at debate
Mitt Romney returns to his home state today, where he was greeted this morning with full-page ads criticizing his position on the auto bailout and where he will be the focus of his seven rivals tonight on the debate stage. The former Massachusetts governor is being targeted by both Democrats and by his Republican rivals, who are trying to knock him off his march to the nomination. Tonight marks the 9th debate of the nominating contest, and provides yet another opportunity for candidates to present themselves as a chief alternative to Romney.
