Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich met in a debate marked by a friendly tone that contrasted with other debates.
Political analysts say Newt Gingrich, who has recently emerged in the polls as a more conservative alternative to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, could be the biggest beneficiary of Herman Cain’s decision to suspend his Republican presidential campaign. In New Hampshire, former GOP chairman Jack Kimball has gotten more than a dozen phone calls from people who had supported Cain. All said they would back Gingrich.
