“I know who I am,’’ Elizabeth Warren said in a lengthy telephone interview yesterday in which she asserted her Native American roots. “I know my heritage.’’ A moment later, in response to a question over whether she took professional advantage of her self-identification as a minority, she said, “I won’t deny who I am, I won’t deny my heritage, but I didn’t ask for anything because of it.’’
