Romney’s stance on Syria a cautious work in progress
Mitt Romney has sought to make his policy of arming the opponents of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad one of the boldest declarations of his presidential candidacy, contrasting starkly with what he calls the failed leadership of President Obama on the issue. But an examination of Romney’s stance shows there are many unanswered questions about his policy, including how he would determine who would receive the arms, and whether the weapons would come directly from the United States.
