On heels of campaign commercial, candidate announces ‘Running with Ross’ events

Mike Ross really likes to run.

The city councilor and mayoral candidate has announced that he will hold a series of campaign events with Boston running groups—a followup on the theme of one of his signature campaign ads, in which he is seen running across the city.

“Running groups are a great way to meet with people, really get to know the neighborhoods of our city, and stay healthy,” Ross said in a statement. “Some of the best conversations I’ve ever had have been while I was on runs with people.”

The “Running with Ross” events are:

-- Back on My Feet Boston and Hope House Run, Sept 18, 5:30 a.m., 8 Farnham St.

-- Forest Hill Runners, Sept. 20, 6:00 a.m., meets at Stony Brook T

-- City Sports Running Club, Sept 21, 9:30 a.m., 1035 Commonwealth Ave.

-- L Street Running Club, Sept. 22, 7:30 a.m., meets at Curley Community Center
