Bikes on the MBTA The Boston Globe
If you want to bike around the traffic hassles despite the MBTA’s bike ban, here are a few helpful tips:

■ To keep your bike from being damaged, don’t lock it around or near planned convention protests
■ Try to ride on portions of Boylston Street, Massachusetts Avenue, Kneeland Street, Atlantic Avenue and Commercial Street, where a parking ban will make the streets easier to bike and remove the fear of being ‘doored.’
■ If you were depending on the T to take you closer to Boston before you rode in, drive your vehicle and park closer to the city to cut the biking distance.
■ Redbones BBQ (55 Chester Street, Somerville) will offer free and secure bicycle parking from July 26 to July 29 starting at 8 a.m. each day. The MBTA’s Davis Square Red Line station is a short walk away.
