Dearborn is also the headquarters of the Ford Motor Company. The Arab-American population in Dearborn dates back more than a century, thanks to Ford's open hiring practices, and surged as people fled the Lebanese civil war in the 1970s. Others have come from Yemen and, most recently, Iraq.
