2. The campus vote
In nearly every election college students are touted by at least one campaign as the key to victory, though they rarely are because of low turnout. But in Iowa, where Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Barack Obama are running neck-and-neck (and neck?), college voters could emerge as a determining factor. Barack Obama (right, speaking at Cornell College in Iowa) appears to have the most support among college students. However, one matter further complicates things -- the early date of the caucus coincides with many students' winter breaks.(AP Photo)
