Voters hit the polls in Grand Ledge, Mich., on Jan. 15. The Democratic National Committee had stripped Michigan and Florida, which voted Jan. 29, of their delegates for holding early primaries. As a result, no candidate campaigned in either state, and several candidates, including Obama, took their names off the Michigan ballot. Nevertheless, the votes emerged as a contentious subplot for the remainder of the race as Clinton, who won both states, pushed to have the full delegates counted.
