About 1,500 people attended the funeral Mass for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy at Bostons Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help: folks from President Obama to former President George W. Bush and former Gov. Mitt Romney, a one-time electoral rival. Kennedy was "a champion for those who had none, the soul of the Democratic party, Obama said. His body was later flown to Washington, D.C., for burial at Arlington National Cemetery, next to his fallen brothers.
