Bloggers grumble about Patrick's inauguration

The bloggers over at Blue Mass Group are grumbling a wee bit about the $1-million-plus Deval Patrick inauguration, which the Globe news reporters and columnist Brian McGrory have been, um, highlighting lately.

McGrory's suggestion that Patrick should throw open the doors to the State House (calling Andrew Jackson...) went over well with one Blue Mass poster:

"I think its an outstanding idea. Frankly, the so-called necessity of the government restricting me from various public spaces has gotten tiresome. Being physically welcomed into the very vessel of state government -- unannounced and uninvited -- would really be a symbolic welcome change.''
