Cabinet Choices

Posted by pnealon December 29, 2007 12:58 PM

MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Most candidates, when asked who they would name to
key positions if elected, graciously deflect the question for fear of
looking overconfident about victory. When prompted last week to
identify Republicans he would appoint to administration jobs, Barack
Obama said it would be "premature for me to start announcing my
cabinet."

But John Edwards -- who's been muscling for media and voters to
consider him part of the same top tier of national candidates as Obama
and Hillary Clinton -- didn't mind risking a show of presumptuousness
in a session with voters here.

"I've already made a list of the people I will consider for the major
Cabinet positions in my administration," Edwards said. He did not
name names.
