Clinton goes bipartisan in new ad

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor December 18, 2007 02:31 PM

Hillary Clinton, continuing her more positive tack of late, began airing a new TV ad today in New Hampshire that promotes her effort to get healthcare coverage to National Guard members and Reservists.

In the ad, she talks about working the Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina in the Senate to pass the bill. "I've learned if you want to get things done, you have to know when to stand your ground and when to find common ground," she says.

The ad stands in stark contrast to another recent healthcare ad, hitting her Democratic primary rival Barack Obama for a healthcare plan she charges leaves out 15 million of the estimated 47 million Americans without health insurance.

The Republican National Committee took the opportunity to slam Clinton for voting in May against funding for operations in Iraq, saying it contradicted her claims of helping the military on healthcare.
