Clinton offers her New Year's countdown
Hillary Clinton is first out of the gate with a New Year's video -- her version of a Times Square countdown.
As is her predilection (just look at her Christmas TV ad), it is a policy list of campaign priorities, including bringing the troops home from Iraq, enacting universal healthcare, making college affordable, and fixing the housing crisis. At number one: "Hillary for president."
"January first will be a new year," the announcer says, "but January third will be a new beginning," referring, of course, to Thursday's caucuses in Iowa that could re-establish her as the Democratic presidential front-runner, or make the nomination race a real two- or three-person race.
The Republican National Committee was almost as quick with a response, issuing a statement saying that Clinton's video "is nothing more than a countdown to higher taxes, socialized medicine, government growth, greater bureaucracy, and increased spending. For the New Year, Clinton should resolve to be upfront and honest with the American people about her reckless fiscal policies."

.......................all people smile in the same language.

Go Hillary!
Today, that is all I have to say.
From age 13, Hillary Rodham Clinton has been committed to the nation building of a better and greater America.
She met with the great civil rights leader, Rev. Martin Luther King.Jr, in 1962, and she has been leading defending the rights of Americans since college to date.
Hillary Rodham Clinton has paid her dues and she can excel as the next President of the United States of America.
She deserves every vote.
Her answer/solution is always, "More Government". When is government ever going to "downsize" like the rest of the real world ? Now that would be tghe genesis of a solution.

Err... you are mistaken my friend... the rest of the western world spends more money on socialized industries and services than the US ever has... The real "size" of US spending is based on military. Thats a republican fascination, not Hillary.

Hillary is awesome!!! I am so proud to see her on the verge of becoming President. She has withstood attack after attack by Obama (meanwhile he plays the "victim" role). The rest of her opponents would have surely caved in by now. She has withstood constant criticism for most of her life and especially this past year. It is OBVIOUS that this woman has the strength, courage, character and LEADERSHIP that Obama only "dreams" of. I also love the way he and his crew continue to say that they are not running a negative campaign.........how much time do we have to address the most recent attacks spewed in just the past 72 hours? Thank you IOWA for not buying into his lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hillary talks about ending the war and bringing the troops home. There's only two ways to bring the troops home from Iraq, one way is to win, the other is to quit. What's Hillary's solution.
e txpierence is the answer and a concern for average americans. she has what itit takesI
No matter what others think I believe Hillary is the best choice for president.
Government needs a woman to straighten things out,
Remember all of these men were raised by a woman.
Hillary for President of the United States. God help America.
When Karl Rove makes his New Year’s resolution, I’m betting it has something to do with helping Hillary Clinton win the Democratic nomination. Rove’s suggestion of her inevitability has been picked up like a mantra by the GOP, Rove’s surrogates and even many in the media. Rove knows there is only one way for the Republicans to win the Whitehouse in 2008 and that is to divide the country.
Let’s face it. This country is roughly 1/3 conservative, 1/3 liberal and 1/3 moderate. It’s the middle 1/3 who choose a president. A Clinton nomination would be so polarizing; there is no way that the moderate middle will cross over to vote for her. Of course, the Republicans could also nominate a polarizing person, increasing the likelihood of a third-way political party led by Bloomberg and company.
As an independent voter in Iowa I’ve got a ringside seat to the fight for the presidency and I have to tell you it’s pretty ugly. I have supported Republican candidates in the past – before they decided that torture is a moral right; habeas corpus is an inconvenient legal technicality; and that they have the right to declare anyone they choose to be an enemy combatant. At the same time, as a moderate voter, I can’t see myself supporting Hillary Clinton for president.
So, now the choice for the Democratic Party is clear:
• There’s a divisive Hillary Clinton nomination.
• There is battlin’ John Edwards. I think he’s an amazingly good man. I supported him early on, but he’s run a take-no-prisoners campaign, and that’s not what it takes to unite the country. Sorry, John.
• And there’s the one candidate who stands for uniting red states and blue states – Barack Obama. Obama is the middle way. He is the one who can win my vote.
No matter what happens in Iowa, Barack Obama will not be the nominee come February 5.
Obama has a big burden. He has to go to his events and pretend he is something he is not. His voting record shows that he supports the war. He voted twice in 2006 against bringing America's troops back home. He votes for war appropriations as if giving our money to Halliburton and Blackwater is his sworn duty. His latest bit of posturing S 433 allows the Bush Administration to suspend any troop withdrawal, which if not suspended, still keeps the troops in Iraq for a long time to come. The suspension is written right into Section 4 (b). The bill tells Bush to bring the troops home some day unless he doesn't want to. The very name of the bill, "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007" is a lie. This is par for the course for Obama. Bruce Dixon and Glen Ford of the Black Agenda Report have written articles exposing Obama's fraud in pretending to represent the interests of African-American voters. Before anyone believes that Obama cares about African-Americans, they should read, "Barack Obama and the Winds of War," "Putting Black Faces on Imperial Aggression," "Barack Obama: the Mania and the Mirage," "Barack Obama: Hypocrisy on Health Care," "The Barack and Hillary Show Plays Selma," "Black America's Real Issue With Barack Obama," and "Barack Obama vs. Charles Hamilton Houston." From these articles and others, readers can see Obama come down on the side of the oppressors of African-Americans. For someone whose ancestors owned black slaves, Obama tries to put pressure on African-Americans and fails. Al Sharpton's reaction to pressure to back Obama was, "I'm not going to be cajoled or intimidated by any candidate not for my support." Instead of supporting African American's Obama is into lying to them and intimidating them. What makes him different than others who oppress African-Americans? Paul Street exposes the real Barack Obama very clearly in his article, "The Obama Illusion." Street shows how Obama, a Hamiltonian believer in free trade and supporters of globalization has lent his support to the "...Hamilton Project, formed by corporate-neoliberal Citigroup chair Robert Rubin and other 'Wall Street Democrats' to counter populist rebellion against corporate tendencies within the Democratic Party... ," how Obama provided valuable assistance to pro-war candidates (such as Joe Lieberman), and how he criticized the filibuster proceedings against Samuel Alito. Street shows how Obama voted for "... a business-friendly 'tort reform' bill that rolls back working peoples' ability to obtain reasonable redress and compensation..." from corporations. Obama considers single payer universal health care too socialist and has stated that he prefers voluntary solutions. Street's article goes on to discuss Obama's support for other aspects of the neo-con agenda, including neo-con propaganda against African-American culture.
Obama voted to bring low-cost foreign labor into New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. This was a slap in the face against the African-Americans who were displaced in that city. Obama also voted to place Michael Cheftoff, the man responsible for the Katrina catastrophe, in charge of Homeland Security. Obama voted for the bills that gave Blackwater the funding they needed to shoot the people of New Orleans who were only trying to save their own lives. He voted to allow Michael Chetoff to waive all laws, including murder, torture and kidnapping.
In voting for the Real ID Act, Obama voted to end political asylum for people seeking shelter in this country because of terrorism at home.
AP-Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has lot of explaining to do.
He voted against requiring medical care for aborted fetuses who survive. He supported allowing retired police officers to carry concealed weapons, but opposed allowing people to use banned handguns to defend against intruders in their homes. And the list of sensitive topics goes on. With only a slim, two-year record in the U.S. Senate, Obama doesn't have many controversial congressional votes which political opponents can frame into attack ads. But his eight years as an Illinois state senator are sprinkled with potentially explosive land mines, such as his abortion and gun control votes. recent land purchase from a political supporter who is facing charges in an unrelated kickback scheme involving investment firms seeking state business. Abortion opponents see Obama's vote on medical care for aborted fetuses as a refusal to protect the helpless. Some have even accused him of supporting infanticide.

You are the best hope for our country. You have the best plan for healthcare, best plan to get out of Iraq, best plan for our economy and best plan for global warming.
VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON
There is no doubt in my mind, that the attack machine started in Iowa. A little comon sense can tell you that Obama has dance to the tune of the Republican Party. Obama is the only candidate of the Democratic Party that has recieved advice on how to beat Hillary. The media has help in trying to derail the Hillary campaign every time that anything happens from the way she dresses to the tips she leaves on the table and the way she laughs and claps her hands. Disregarding all the that Hillary has accomplish in her political life. I pray that America wakes up and if we really want the white house our only hope is Hillary and not Hussein.
Comment #10 is so true regarding the criticism Hillary Clinton has been subjected to throughout the campaign. Last October New York Magazine published an interview with Benazir Bhutto in which Bhutto offered support and advice to Clinton on gender issues we're all too familiar with by this time. To read the interview, go here: http://katalusis.blogspot.com/2007/12/some-tips-for-hillary-clinton-from.html
For the longest time I've believed I was a "Republican" because I was a serviceperson who believed in strong national security and a free-market society with little government control. Now that I am a hard-working career family man, I am struggling to raise and support a family in our beloved America. As much as a hate to admit it, I now think that we are falling apart as a country and in the eyes of the world we are becoming nothing more that a "greedy", "war-mongering bully" when we should be revered as liberators and the one place were everyone can live the American Dream. Now it seems like the "American Dream" is always a few more pay raises away or just after I pay off this credit debt. Anyways...if Hillary can help guide us to atleast universal healthcare, then maybe we can start to get on track with some of our European counterparts. I myself may be blessed with a job that gives me affordable healthcare, but many others don't have that option and it's sad. Thanks to our politicians and the healthcare industry lobbists, healthcare is now a business run by profit. If Canada can do it and other European countries, so can we. We need to make changes to the way we live and if that means we start looking towards a more democratic socialist system, so be it. We already incorporate many socialist policies already and they work...but our capitalist tendencies are slowly taking their tolls on them. I would rather live with "higher taxes" because in the long run, if I had reliable professional "free" services like healthcare and other services (public school for instance) or maybe even power, it would most likely even out anyways or even be far cheaper. The cost of living would most likely go way down as well. The big power players don't want that of course because then they wouldn't be as rich and they have the money and therefore influence to prevent these changes from ever happening, like buying politicians. Heck, if I were one of them, I wouldn't want to give it up either. I'm just thinking about my kids future and how grim it looks sometimes. I know we as a nation can do a lot better because we're Americans. So maybe I'll take another look at Hillary, but only because what other alternative to real change is there? Is she legit? Will she have enough political capital to make real change? The answer is probably not. We've now made it almost financially and legally impossible for a third party to run and most of us laugh them off. It's because we're all so busy struggling to pay bills and survive than to worry about anything else, especially politics.
