Nebraska governor backs Romney

Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman endorsed Mitt Romney today, helping the former Massachusetts governor make the case that he appeals to Republican in the heartland.

"In his campaign for the presidency, Mitt Romney has outlined the clearest vision to move our country forward," Heineman said in a statement issued by the Romney campaign. "With exceptional leadership experience and outstanding values, Governor Romney is the only candidate who can bring true conservative change to Washington."

Heineman, who was elected to his first full term in November 2006, joins Matt Blunt of Missouri and Don Carcieri of Rhode Island in publicly backing Romney, his campaign said.
