Obama, Edwards look beyond Iowa, N.H.
The first key contests in Iowa and New Hampshire are still to come, but that isn't stopping Democrats Barack Obama and John Edwards from looking ahead.
In a conference call with reporters today, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe outlined a 24-slide presentation that not only details what he called growing momentum in Iowa and New Hampshire, but also describes progress in Nevada, where Democrats caucus on Jan. 19; South Carolina, which votes Jan. 26; and in the Feb. 5 super primary.
The Obama campaign said it has the minimum of $100 million to compete in the first 26 states to vote, has 32 offices in 17 of the 22 states scheduled to vote on Feb. 5; and has the highest favorable ratings and electability findings among the leading Democrats.
The Edwards campaign, meanwhile, announced today that it has added leaders or advisors in nine of the Feb. 5 states, so it now has them in all 22 states. The campaign also said it has endorsements from seven labor unions with a total of 1.5 million members in the Feb. 5 states.

The Obama campaign is putting this information out so when they lose Iowa the press can have some talking points about their operation in the other states.
Edwards campaign is putting it out because when they win Iowa they have to counter the press spin that they can't compete anywhere else.
Clinton's campaign doesn't have to say anything because the ;press will spin in her favor regardless of whether she wins or loses.
Check on Hillory's voting record which was against the removal of land mines and cluster bombs around the globe, which kill or maime innocent children. She clearly has supported the military industrial complex all her career.
Edwards is a fake and everyone should know that by now; except for the poor folks in Iowa where he's been camping for 4 years. Here are the facts: JE voted for the war when it was politically safe to do so. He then reneged his vote when it was politically safe to do so.Any pattern? He's now metamorphosed into a raging populist when his senate record, in particular, and his life, in general, give no proof of his new found populism. The guy used to give anti-poverty speeches for very high fees for crying out loud.In addition, he worked for a hedge that caused tons of people to lose their houses.Lately, he's had numerous interest groups flooding all the communication channels in Iowa on his behalf while decrying the influence of such groups. You be the judge of this populist! Edwards=Clinton
Edwards is not a fake, Mr. Pierre. Mr. Obama is the candidate in this race who is a fake: his positions are the least provocative and will bring about the least amount of change among the top three candidates, and he is too "nice" to stand up to or challenge Republican attacks. Not to mention he leaves 15 million Americans uninsured and supports "clean coal" and nuclear energy, though I'm sure it's not because he's accepted nearly $160,000 from executives at the nation's largest nuclear power plant operator [http://thephoenix.com/Article.aspx?id=53198&page=3]. John Edwards never gave anti-poverty speeches, and as for his lifestyle, you could hardly come up with a more Republican attack. Let us not forgot how wealthy Franklin Roosevelt or the Kennedys were, and unlike them John Edwards has experienced real poverty, but the key here isn't whether or not someone is wealthy or not, it is the depth of their conviction and their committment to bring about positive and substantive change. And while Mr. Obama talks about changing politics in America, he presents half-hearted policy proposals that are compromised from the start, and accepts personal contributions from corporate lobbyists while decrying the degree to which money has poisoned politics. The real candidate of change, and the one candidate who can win the general election and transform our country is John Edwards.
