Romney gets testimonial in new ad
Mitt Romney's most recent TV ads have been hard-hitting takes on rival Mike Huckabee's record. But with Christmas fast approaching, he launched a new spot today in New Hampshire with more of a holiday feel.
It features a former business partner, Robert Gay, who emotionally gives a testimonial about Romney's role in helping find his daughter, who went missing in New York City in 1996.
"My fourteen year-old daughter had disappeared in New York City for three days. No one could find her," Gay says as newspaper headlines and street scenes go across the screen. "My business partner stepped forward to take charge. He closed the company and brought almost all our employees to New York. "He said, 'I don't care how long it takes -- we're going to find her.'
"He set up a command center and searched through the night," Gay continues. "The man who helped save my daughter was Mitt Romney. Mitt's done a lot of things that people say are nearly impossible. But for me, the most important thing he’s ever done is to help save my daughter."

Mitt Romney is a great man, and a very educated and seasoned leader. Romney for 2008!!
What an ad. Most people don't know he did this... good job on bringing to more to light to show what kind of a person he really is. Mitt Romney needs to be President because of his true character and his astounding ability to solve problems and get things done.
That's the true character if a person - what they do when no one's watching. What they did ten years ago before politics began. Good people make good presidents.
Awesome! Now that is the kind of man who should lead this country, not someone who skulks around philandering when he thinks no one is watching....
It shows he is willing to use his political resources for someone he knows, not that that he'd make a good president or that he is a good person.
I've recently seen other stories in the news about how he has helped people in need. He really is a great man! Just what this country needs in a President.
That had nothing to do with politics. To take a company that you owned and put the resources in an effort to save somebodies life is very admirable, and does show that he is a good person and that he would make a great president. He didn't have to do it, but he did. And I'm sure he was losing money doing it.
To Charles-- Romney was not the governor. If you paid attention to the tv spot, he was still in the business sector at the time. He shut down his company and lost money while they looked for his partner's daughter. I think it was a noble thing to do and shows that he is a good person.
This happened in 1996. The Olympics were in 2000, and he didn't decide to run for Gov. until 2001.
Mitt Romney is a man of values and he is fearless. What separates him from most candidates is that throughout his life this man has not done what he could, he has done what is necessary.
He has gotten some criticism for not having a Christmas themed message like the others. Huckabee's and Obama's were actually pretty good, even though Mitt is my #1 choice.
Am I the only one that would like to see a new polling trend - all the early statesgetting polled? Nothing in Wyoming.
