Clinton continues going after Obama
Most messages labeled "About last night" would suggest regret, recriminations, or just sheepishness about behavior viewed in a more clear-eyed way in a new morning.
Not so the memo from Hillary Clinton's campaign, which is not backing away one iota from the raucous and at times heated exchanges with Barack Obama during Monday night's debate in South Carolina.
"While much of this campaign has focused on Senator Obama's rhetoric, there has not been much attention paid to Senator Obama's record," says the memo. "Last night, that changed. With the fireworks now receding, it's time to focus on the substance. From questions about his commitment to fiscal responsibility to his relationship with a donor currently under indictment to his consistency on key issues, last night raised new issues that the Obama campaign must confront today."
The memo then goes on to repeat criticisms raised during the debate by Clinton, who told reporters today that Obama was "looking for a fight" at the debate.
Obama, for his part, continued to press his argument that the Clinton campaign is deliberately misrepresenting his record and statements. "I think it's very clear that Senator Clinton has and President Clinton have been spending the last month attacking me in ways that are not accurate," Obama told reporters in a conference call, according to the Associated Press.

The fighting between OBAMA and CLINTON will hurt the chances of a democratic win in 2008. The tag team of Bill and Hillary is being watched by the spectators. Their actions when the head of the referee is turned are not going without notice by the voters. And who can envision Billy Boy again lurking in the corridors of the White House?
I think those who accuse Hilary of crying crocodile tears are wrong. What baffles me is why her supporters consider her crying words, "I have so many opportunities from this country. I just don't want to see us fall backwards..." to be so moving. Where is the patriotic sacrifice which these choked-up words declare? Where is the political humility to which these moving words even allude? If we agree for a moment that there were no patriotic sacrifice and no political humility, then it is not hard to see why Hilary was truly crying. I think she could sense that the crown of the Clinton dynasty was slipping away--the crown she knows in her heart she alone deserves. I think the revolutionary philosopher, Karl Marx, got it wrong when he said religion is the opiate of the people. I think political dynasties are the true opiate of the people. This is ironic considering her surrogates' less-than-subtle references to Obama's teenage drug use. Perhaps one should pause to ponder an opiate that afflicts--not just one person--but our entire nation.
So, people, one more time:
This is our nation:
"..life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
These are our dynasties:
Bush--Clinton--Clinton--Bush--Bush
This is our nation "on" dynasties:
"Read my lips: no new taxes." (Bush)
"I did not inhale." (Clinton)
"I did not have sex with that woman." (Clinton)
"Iraq has...weapons of mass destruction." (Bush)
"This economy is strong and solid." (Bush)
Any questions?
And what has Hilary Clinton done for anyone other than herself? She asks for votes, she asks for sympathy, she asks for our stories but what has she done but exploit everyone else for her own gain. It may take a village to raise a child but the only child is Hilary Clinton! Who would stay married to man with a long list of extra marital affairs, Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky and less famous others. Only a woman who needed a political favor in kind, a pit bull husband, who owes her for ignoring his nasty behaviors. The Clintons are selfish, dishonorable and disgraceful. Barack Obama in '08, is the only honorable Democratic option.
Bill Clinton has stepped over the line, and I assure you I will not vote for someone who feels it’s alright to slander people without all the facts. It’s appalling, that a known liar should be influencing any campaign, and yes Bill Clinton is setting on Hillary’s balance sheet, but I assure you he’s a huge liability. Bill should have just focused on hyping his wife credientionals and spending less time in defaming a bonafide candidate, or better yet Bill should answer for the Mena Arkansas cocaine pipeline which Hillary has not been properly “vetted” on, and her complicity in launder funds through the Arkansas Finance Development Authority during Bill Clinton's Governorship.
i just wanted to know if it was true that Barack Obama chooses not to say the Pledge of Allegiance...?
Since the founders of our constitution never envisioned a situation like the one we may be faced with, therefore, perhaps we should ask some questions BEFOREHAND. Specifically, who is going to rein in Bill Clinton if Hillary Clinton is elected President? He defied the constitution. He lied under oath. He was IMPEACHED. And that was WITH constitutional checks and balances. The spouse of a President is not covered under ANY of those constitutional checks and balances. Thus, Bill Clinton will be running WILD in the White House. Is that smart?
The Clintons are so corrupt and divisive, they are threatened by Obama's message of unity and a clean government. When you see a man who wagged the finger at America and swore he never had sex with Lewinsky and then went on say it depends on what the meaning of is, is, then this man has no credibility. He is destroying the democratic party and the enthusiasm of young Americans who want to renew America. America is a democracy, not a dynasty and not a monarchy. Stop this criminal gang from conning America again.
I am more interested in Mr. Obama replying to Mrs. Clintons allegations instead of complaining about the fact that she made them. If she was correct, Mr.Obama needs to answer these allegations. If she is incorrect Mr. Obama needs to state Mrs. Clinton is incorrect, and point out how. I don't understand why he has not already done this......unless all of the allegations are maybe correct and he was blindsided by being directly confronted with them and not prepared to respond.
It seems to me that Mr. Obama is avoiding the allegations altogether and crying to the public that "the big bad Clintons are beating up on him" and for some unknown reason we should feel bad for him and vote for him instead of Hillary. It is going to take more than that to get my vote Mr. Obama!
what a shame that this is what this historical campaign is all about attack attack attack, and then of course if Obama defends himself he is the bad guy if he doesn't respond then everyone assumes he isn't strong enough shame the MSM isn't going to truly be a resourse during this election and report on the facts I would think as a candidate standing across the stage from such a talented public speaker I would chose a different strategy than trying to outstump someone like Barrack Obama. You know if Mrs. Clinton took a little more time to detail her policies and maybe separate herself from her husband's administration instead of playing this same old "trash the competition " politics I would probably be willing to say let the best candidate win. But as it stands I say Good Luck Sen. Obama
The shamelessness of the Clintons would be funny if it didn't fool so many people.
It was the Clintons who started the negative campaigning, Obama simply gave a clear explanation of how she and her husband had attempted to distort his record. Anyone who reads Obamas "Reagan quote" in its entirety should be able to see that he has giving lucid political analysis, not endorsement about the GOP since 1980.
It is ironic that Hillary refused to accept responsibility for her former President husbands actions on her behalf, and then accused Barack of not taking responsibility for his actions.
I found Baracks explainations of his actions and votes to be quite streightforward (I havent seen any news story quote where he pointed out that one of the bills that he voted "present" on was in fact one that he had sponsored!).
Hillary is showing us who she is, she is that which she accuses others of.
Her lies and distortions are so transparent, I dont understand how her supporters can fail to see them.
Before she gets all holier than thou about Rezko, I have two words for Hillary Clinton: Norman Hsu. No, wait, two more words: Charlie Trie. Oh, I just thought of two more: Johnny Chung. And another two: Marc Rich.
