Clinton vs. "Uncommitted" in Michigan primary
MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – Some of Hillary Clinton’s top Michigan supporters are gunning for a rival on the Democratic primary ballot: “Uncommitted.”
Former governor James Blanchard and his wife Janet sent postcards to their backers encouraging them to turn out and vote for Clinton in Tuesday’s primary, where her strongest competition is from a none-of-the-above option.
"Make Michigan count," reads the mailer, which arrived today in mailboxes of past Blanchard supporters.
The state hasn’t been expected to count for much since the Democratic National Committee blacklisted the primary for violating the party’s rules by jumping ahead on the calendar. Only Clinton, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, and the since-departed Chris Dodd are on the ballot, leaving supporters of Barack Obama and John Edwards the common anti-Hillary option of voting for “Uncommitted,” if they bother to vote at all.
The Clinton forces are apparently not taking a victory over “Uncommitted” for granted. The Blanchards are expected to join Governor Jennifer Granholm at a suburban-Detroit event tomorrow that is being described as a “press conference” to elude party sanctions on active politicking in the state. Unable to spend money on ads and other forms of voter contact, event organizers are encouraging Hillary supporters to show up in rally-like numbers to generate enthusiasm before Tuesday’s vote.

Shades of Obama consistency!!
i.e. He did vote 'ABSENT' on the Iran resolution
Make Michigan REALLY Count, write in Senator Obama so when Senator Clinton loses she has to explain how it "feels" to lose when you are the only one on the ballot.
I hope black people have finally learned their lesson and can see more clearly who Bill and Shilary Clinton really are. Who called Obama a fairytale and she discredited Martin Luther King all in the space of 7 days
In a short matter of time he and his wife have managed to release some of the most racist statement ever heard by a former president and his wife, all due to her being behind and losing this election. I hope Barack Obama really send them packing handily and afro Americans see this lying scum from Arkansas for the con man he is¡K now that is what I call the Clinton legacy.. let¡¦s all just be happy they are showing their true colors nowƒº --- The Clinton Legacy = Two faced con man who stole the white house

Democrats in Michigan have more power than they know. Are they smart enough to use it is the question.

Many democrats here in Michigan are angry regarding Clinton being the only leading candidate on the ballot. I just heard a piece by longtime democratic U.S. Senator Carl Levin. He is appalled by the Clinton people not honoring their prior agreement to not go on the ballot here and feels that they have taken unfair advantage of situation.
Democrats who support Obama and Edwards can’t use the write-in process. All votes with a write-in will be disqualified. There is a method to vote for either Obama or Edwards with the uncommitted process….but that is not expected to well explained or understood at the poll. I must say that I agree with Mr. Levin and with his anger in this matter.
I was somewhat undecided prior to this situation. I am at least sure of whom I will not consider as a result of this “dirty trick”. This is disgusting!!!
I notice that you did not post my comment regarding this acticle.
It appears that you agree with Clinton hijacking the ability of Obama and Edwards supporter here in Michigan.
Many life-long democrats here are very upset with this situation.
WHY I THOUGHT ON 01/07/2008 HILLARY WILL WIN NH PRIMARY
News media said NO BODY EXPECTED SENATOR CLINTON TO WIN IN NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY on the day before the New Hampshire Primary. But I was the exceptional. On 01/07/2007 the night before the New Hampshire Primary, I attended to Senator Clinton¡¯s campaign in Manchester. After listened to Senator Clinton¡¯s speech and when she was shaking hands with me, I said to her ¡°YOU WILL WIN TOMORROW¡¯.
The following are the reasons why I thought Senator Clinton will win the New Hampshire Primary despite the Poll showed that Senator Obama was 13% higher than Senator Clinton.
1. Senator Clinton has done many works in the past decades probably starting with the work on Water Gate Event investigation; as the first Lady she was very active in the international activities, and very well recoganized by the whole world; plus the tremendous works done in the past seven years as the New York Senator.
I do not know any significant work done by Senator Obama, though he can talk extremely well. (Actually on Jan 10th morning I saw TV news talking about his house in Chicago bought in 2005, which is in question whether some corruption involved.)
My points are, the candidate for the President should:
"DO NOT SHOW WHAT YOU CAN SAY TO THE PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRY; BUT JUST SHOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO THE PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRY"
"IT IS EASY TO SAY SOMETHING THAN TO HAVE SOMETHING REALLY BEING DONE"
"AMERICAN DO NOT NEED A PRESIDENT ONLY GOOD AT TALKING; AMERICAN NEED A PRESIDENT GOOD AT DOING TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES"
That was why I thought Senator Clinton was much better than Senator Obama.
2. In the evening of 01/07/2008 I heard from the National Public Radio that a man said he was going to vote for Senator Obama, and he attended to a Senator Obama¡¯s campaign. He talked to Senator Obama after Senator Obama¡¯s speech and asked Senator Obama what he is going to change; but Senator Obama could not answer his question. So he decided to change to vote for Senator Clinton.
3. I listened to Senator Clinton¡¯s speech on 01/07/2008 evening campaign and really feel the way Senator Clinton¡¯s talk is quite different from Senator Obama¡¯s talk. Senator Clinton is more caring and more accurate on the issues related to the people in the country, she has the plan to make the changes. She is more reliable on what she is saying to the people.
So I really felt that Senator Clinton is the candidate for the Nominee for Democratic Party, and she can win the election. That was why I said confidently to Senator Clinton on 01/07/2008 night: ¡°YOU WILL WIN TOMORROW¡±.
How am I supposed to vote for Obama if he's not going to be on the ballot? It's really confusing. My friends tell me to just write him in. They're trying to get me to vote for Hillary but I don't think I will, so I guess I will just hold my ground and write him in. Does anyone know how to do it? Should I bring a pencil or pen?
If you write in a candidate it will not count, VOTE for Kucinich.....then John Edwards and Barack Obama will still be in the race.

Although the State of Michigan violated the Democratic National Committee's rules, the candidates that did not appear on the ballot should not have insulted
Michigan voters by snubbing them. Thank you Hillary and the others who did
appear anyway. The voters should not have been held responsible for what
the state did and the candidates that did not appear on the ballot should have been smart enough to know that. Apparently they are not and that is why I will
not vote for any of them. Thank God Obama the "fake" one did not win over Michigan. I would have voted republican for the first time in my life if he did. He is
a fake, never acknowledging his white half is wrong but putting the people who were never in his life in the forefront is a joke.
Obama will get black vote but not all blacks. Huge mistake to vote for him
Black people need to get a grip and stop thinking that everything is a racist comment.
