Edwards ad hits rivals on special interests

John Edwards mostly stayed out of the line of fire during Monday night's debate as Democratic front-runners Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama attacked each other's records and honesty.

But in a new TV ad airing in South Carolina, Edwards aims squarely at both his rivals as he tries to pull off a comeback in the state where he was born.

"One gets more money than anyone from drug companies. The other one takes more money than anyone from Washington lobbyists," the narrator says as photos of Clinton and Obama appear on the screen.

"What’s happened to the Democratic Party? Whatever happened to the party of the people? Good question," the narrator continues, as a montage of Edwards on the campaign trail appears. "The only one who’s never taken a dime from PACs or Washington lobbyists, who knows we’ve been ignored too long, who knows that rebuilding the middle class is more important than politics? Our John Edwards. The only one."

  1. Its frustrating that the news media is ignoring John Edwards message and popularity. The only people that seem to be paying attention are H. Clinton and B. Obama who realize that his message and plans are being heard by the middle class and adopt them. Hopefully the media will wake up and include J. Edwards in their news bites before the middle class gets bitten again.

  1. You are totally right, Edwards is totally ignored by the media! He is the best chance for democrats to take the White house. John is my favorite candidate, but what worries me is that people hate hillary and think Obama is whimpy. Worse is that if they are selected by democrats to be the nominee, we will lose the white house. It is sad that America is still a place of racism and sexism, but that is the cold truth. If they are the democratic ticket then we should just prepare for another 4 yrs of bush like rule.

  1. It's so frustrating! Even when they are giving him props, they seem to brush it off as if his good points are anomalies. We need to keep getting the word out at the grass roots level...the media will not do it for us. they have too much to lose.
