John Edwards vowed to cheering supporters that, despite his third-place finish, he is not getting out of the race. He said that he wanted to be “absolutely clear” that he is in the race through the convention and he intends to be the nominee of the party.

“I am in this race until we have actually restored the American dream and strengthened and restored the middle class of America,” he said.

He said that only about one half of one percent of Americans have voted. And the voices of the remaining 99 percent deserved to be heard.

“We have too much in America of people’s voices not being heard,” he said.

“Two races down, 48 states left to go,” he said.

  1. Person by person, house by house, street by street, town by town, city by city, county by county and state by state Mr. Edwards will get his message through and across this country that so needs his passion for change.

  1. There has been a lot of discussion about the "Bradley Effect". This is the notion that white voters will tell pollsters that they are going to vote for Obama (because they are genuinely trying to embrace the movement) but ultimately not being able to pull the trigger. This, the argument goes, would explain the polling data that predicted an Obama blow-out in New Hampshire. I believe that there is truth to this. No matter how enlightened Americans try to be, there is a strong bias against a black president. Unfortunate but true.

There is a fair amount of soul searching going on...if only Obama was the same man - young, charismatic, smart, and inspirational - but white. Then we could capture "traditional" voters in the red states and beat the republicans. They have such a candidate...his name is John Edwards.

The problem is Edwards is old news and the media refuses to cover him because he is not as interesting as the first viable woman or African-American president.
