Huckabee turns to South Carolina

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor January 15, 2008 09:15 PM

Mike Huckabee, running third in the Michigan primary, didn't wait long tonight after the networks to project Mitt Romney the winner before turning his attention to the next big contest.

"We're going to win South Carolina," he said at a rally in Charleston, S.C., where he traveled while Michigan Republicans were still voting.

He congratulated Romney, but said he did well in Michigan based on how much he was outspent. He also noted that he won Iowa and John McCain won New Hampshire. Huckabee said the first-in-the-South primary in South Carolina on Saturday would help sort out the field.

He also said that he was talking about the economy, the big issue in Michigan, before his rivals.

  1. These Networks need to wait till all the votes are in. I know it will take forever, but i'll laugh the day one of these guys is making his speech or her speech about how this win will get them the nomination and then it turns out another canidate won the state

  1. It was bad enough watching Huckabee's concession speech cut short by McCain's which was interruped by Romney. Good grief, didn't these guys have all night to at least get three speeches in?

  1. Huckabee is NOT TRUST WORTHY.

A little research review a lot. Huckabee had 14 ethnical violations brought against him relating to finances as governor. Shortly before announcing his candidacy for the President of the United States, Huckabee ordered 83 computer hard drives and 4 servers be destroyed during his transition phase in leaving office.

He raised taxes 21 times and granted clemency to 1033 convicted felons, 12 murderers and rapists. Try to improve his tough on crime image with Chuck Norris. (Give me a break! If they were selling weight lose machine it would be more convincing!)

Huckabee wants to do away the IRS and have a fair tax with everyone pay a 23% sales tax on everything you buy. Just exactly how well educated is this man? Then you find out he only has a 2 1/2 years religion degree and worked as a minister selling religion for a living with people's donation for 12 years. The only strength I see he has is SWEET TALKING ability in front of the camera. Huckabee is NOT QUALIFIED.

  1. Some hothead said "Huckabee is NOT QUALIFIED."

He was a state governor for 10 YEARS; re-elected by the his state twice.
More experience than both Bushes, more experience than Reagan, more experience than Bill Clinton.

But because he didn't go to Harvard or Yale, he's not qualified? Puh-leeeze.
(Oh, and doing away with the income tax would be sooooo terrible, wouldn't it? We'd all hate that. With a fair tax you get to pick how much you want to pay in taxes each year by controlling your spending. The horror!).
