McCain, Huckabee already eyeing S.C.
Here's one indication of the relative importance that the Republican candidates are placing on today's Michigan primary:
While native son Mitt Romney will be watching the returns come in tonight at a hotel in suburban Detroit, rivals John McCain and Mike Huckabee will already be in South Carolina, the next big prize on the GOP nomination calendar.
Romney, after placing second to McCain in New Hampshire and second to Huckabee in Iowa, badly needs better than a silver medal in Michigan, where he was born and raised. The most recent polls show Romney and McCain neck-and-neck in Michigan.
McCain and Huckabee, while hoping for strong showings in Michigan, are pointing toward Saturday's primary in South Carolina. Since 1980, no Republican has gone on to win the nomination without winning South Carolina's first-in-the-South contest. The latest polls show McCain and Huckabee battling for first.

Hope American people is intelligent enough to know that the only competent candidate in this presidential race is Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney is the only one who can turn our economic around. It's not what they say, but it's what Romney did all his life, turning around failed business! The senators do not have managing experience, other than spend people's money.

MICHIGAN ROMNEY BACKER SWITCHES TO HUCKABEE

As most polls of likely primary voters in Michigan now show a near-tie between Republicans Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and John McCain, the Romney camp got a jolt Saturday as a key backer announced he was switching his support to Huckabee.
With three days to go before the primary, State Rep. Fulton J. Sheen of Allegan County, introduced Huckabee at the Amway Grand Hotel and announced he was changing to the former Arkansas governor from native Michigander Romney. In an exclusive interview the evening before his announcement, stalwart conservative Sheen -- namesake-nephew of the legendary Roman Catholic bishop in the 1940’s and 50’s -- said that Romney’s attacks on Huckabee’s Fair Tax proposal convinced him to switch to the Arkansas man.

Mike Huckabee is much better positioned to win the general election than John McCain. He has executive experience, McCain does not. He has excellent ideas for health care (the biggest threat to the economy), taxes (the Fair Tax), government restructuring (wants to throw out the IRS and redo the failed Department of Homeland Security), and especially illegal immigration (McCain is associated with amnesty). He has a very sharp mind and will out-debate either the Clintons (as he has done already in Arkansas) or Barack Obama (Huckabee is 19 years younger than John McCain). Huckabee must win in South Carolina so that he can get the backing to go on to Super Tuesday. Those who want to see the Republicans keep the White House should vote for this inspirational leader. I know I will.
Huckabee needs

The four stooges, ofwhich McCain, the Huckster and Romney are certainly members will not receive the republican nomination because we will provide the voters their liberal records.
I, for one, am sick and tired of being lied to...aren't you?;
Candidate Research - Know Who You're Voting For ( The Easy Way )
http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/entry/candidate_research_know_who_youre_voting_for/
Huck will surprise in Michigan, and take SC. It's on to Florida, where he will win again. No one knows what will happen in the NV caucuses. So Huck will be the frontrunner heading into the all important Feb. 5 contests. Go Huck Go!
Romney is toast after his home state of Michigan is over and McCain is TOO liberal for the south.
Get used to hearing "President Mike Huckabee". The ONLY candidate that can pull this country back together, will respect the "little" guy (you and me) and won't ship jobs overseas like Romney....
It looks real good for Huckabee in SC and FL and the bump will propel him into Super Tuesday....
Keep smiling :-)

Winghunter is spamming the entire Internet with his promises of an Easy Way to know who you're voting for.
In reality it's a bunch of links to smears on Huckabee.
More than anything this year, it's become clear that there is no Easy Way to know who you're voting for.
The activists are out in full force, trying to convince you to like this candidate or dislike this other candidate. They cherry-pick facts and distortions hoping that they will stick. It's working to some degree with people who only listen to the soundbites.
I admit I'm in the tank for Huckabee. But I didn't get there easily. I too believed at first some of the one-dimensional attacks on Huckabee. But after a while, the shrillness of the attacks started raising my suspicions. I did my OWN research and ended up finding most of the attacks to be false or out of context.
I also found Huckabee to be an inspiring, uplifting leader. He was very effective in Arkansas, with a great record on improving education in the state, as well as the infrastructure of the state. He is someone that reaches out to a large number of people, and it would be a mistake to underestimate his appeal in the national election.
Linda:
"Hope American people IS intelligent enough to know that the only competent candidate..."
Yes, Linda. Apparently we IS not as intelligent as those who IS for Romney....
If Mr. Romney loves Michigan so much, where has he been for forty years? Proof will come if he doesn't get elected and still keeps his promise to the people of Michigan!
I've been watching the issues and candidates. I've finally decided on our next leader. It should be Mike Huckabee. I don't own a gun, but I as An Americian would like to think I can if I felt like it. Mike is on track that its large %'s of unhealthy habits killing our health care. Its a preventative war that must be waged, not a battle of how many post damage repairs and drugs can be pumped into us. Imagine the world clout the U.S would have if we as a nation got slim and got off our dependancy on oil. Mike impresses me as a stable man in his personnal life and one who will put the U.S. family needs over corporate greed. A man of sound mind on the nuclear button. Mike is right, there is a major idological war being fought in the middle east. No we cannot just pullout. Maybe Mr. Huckabee can work with Gore in these coming years stop this warming mess we are causing. I invite others to please listen to him, He brings a little bit of God with him. I don't think our fore fathers wanted us to be an athiest state. Give Mr. Huckabee a listen
I know this isn't popular in todays world for the most part but this country is long overdue on the "morality" issue, and certaintly on the other problems confronting this coundry. America has what it has because of Godly values, example being helping those in need in anywhere in the world, the speading of the Gospel, etc, etc, etc. In my opinion Mike Huckabee has those values and will take those with him to the White House, our next generation of kids deserve the best we can give them!!!! Gods Blessings!
Huckabee is NOT TRUST WORTHY.
A little research review a lot. Huckabee had 14 ethnical violations brought against him relating to finances as governor. Shortly before announcing his candidacy for the President of the United States, Huckabee ordered 83 computer hard drives and 4 servers be destroyed during his transition phase in leaving office.
He raised taxes 21 times and granted clemency to 1033 convicted felons, 12 murderers and rapists. Try to improve his tough on crime image with Chuck Norris. (Give me a break! If they were selling weight lose machine it would be more convincing!)
Huckabee wants to do away the IRS and have a fair tax with everyone pay a 23% sales tax on everything you buy. Just exactly how well educated is this man? Then you find out he only has a 2 1/2 years religion degree and worked as a minister selling religion for a living with people's donation for 12 years. The only strength I see he has is SWEET TALKING ability in front of the camera. Huckabee is NOT QUALIFIED.
Mike Huckabee will sweep south carolina and go on to win the primary! Don't believe the mainstream media with their phony polls and constant baseless attacks on Huckabee! They're scared to death of Huck because he is an outsider candidate...just like Ronald Reagan was!
How many times to the pollsters have to get it wrong before we all finally realize their polls are not accurate at all but only formed exclusively to try and push their own policies and agenda's. I say enough! Let's take back this country from the corrupt establishment phonies! This is America!
Allen, you spend too much time reading the Washington Insider's talking points. The TRUTH is HERE:

Talk about uneducated, Alan come on. Do some real research before spewing your rants. I think if you actually checked Huck's record you would see he is for real. Also check your facts about the Fairtax. The Republican elite want people like you. Huck governed and can work with both sides to get things done. He is a populist at heart and though he is not perfect and does not have an Ivy League elitist education, he wants to do the right things for you and I.
Hey, Alan C:
What is an "ethnical violation"? If you are going to slam a candidate, at least get your propoganda straight.
Mike Huckabee can still win this nomination if he wins on Saturday. He has the unique capacity to take back some Reagan Democrats from across the aisle while still holding the conservative base. He is the Republicans' best bet for November.
Sooooo...let me get this straight. Huckabee is the only candidate who is for gun control? And the place to find out facts about him is from mikehuckabee. com? Give me a break.
I think Huckabee is probably a good man. I'm sure he was a fine minister and governor of Arkansas. I think he has the best intrest of the little people at heart...so did Jimmy Carter!
Good intentions are not what our country needs right now. We need a strong hand to keep our economy from spiraling out of control, someone who has played a roll in turning things around before. We need someone who is strong on the border. WE NEED A CONSERVATIVE!!!!
Mitt Romney is my man, and he is the right man for America!!!!
Go Mitt!
Huckabee will begin his sweep of the south on Saturday with an SC win.!! I'm sick and tired of millionaires (Romney/McCain) trying to pander to "average" working class people....they don't have a clue what a "normal" Amercan faces every day. Romney would be the first one (with his venture capital company) to buy up some struggling business and ship the jobs overseas so that he can fatten the investor's pocketbooks (and his own). Down with millionaire politicians...it's time for the ruling "monarchy" class to leave town.....we've had it with the King and his loyal subjects. The little guy has taken it on the chin for tooooo long. The
"establishment" candidates who tout the status quo are on the way out...good riddance!
I sorry, but actually ,Huckabee whines a lot.
Allen, you spend too much time reading the Washington Insider's talking points. The TRUTH is HERE:

Fred Thompson is the real conservative in the race is going to win South Carolina.
Mike Huckabee better positioned to win the general election? I don't think so look at this video
http://cliffschecter.bravenewfilms.org/blog/24902-huckabee-what-we-need-to-do-is-to-amend-the-constitution-so-it-s-in-god-s-standards
Also go to factcheck.org and the club for growth web pages and compare Fred Thompson's record to Mike Huckabee and John McCain and you'll come to the same conclusion I have. Go Fred!
