New York Post endorses Obama

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor January 30, 2008 04:44 PM

The New York Post backed Barack Obama today in an endorsement that is more critical of Hillary Clinton than flattering of Obama.

The Post calls Obama "an untried candidate" who "sorely lacks seasoning" and whose worldview is "beyond naive."

But it says the more important issue for Democrats in New York and 21 other states voting next Tuesday is that "Obama represents a fresh start" and Clinton stands for "a return to the opportunistic, scandal-scarred, morally muddled years of the almost infinitely self-indulgent Clinton co-presidency."

"Does America really want to go through all that once again?" the Post asks. "It will -- if Sen. Clinton becomes president."

Clinton, who is counting heavily on winning her home state, was endorsed last week by the New York Times.

.

Awesome!

Kudos to the New York Post who -------- unlike the New York Times, actually chose a Democrat with ELECTABILITY.

While I supported Edwards up until today, like so many Democrats across this nation, I cannot back the contunation of a Bush>Clinton Dynasty - and I cannot vote for a candidate who is completely UNELECTABLE.

Obama can unite our nation and has support across every political persuasion.

Hillary will ensure a Republican victory--- period.

Thank you New York Post!

Yes thank you New York Post! If Clinton is nominated by our party, we will go down to yet another defeat. I am very liberal; but I and my husband and two young daughters (just turned voting age) just cannot stomach another Clinton presidency. In that scenario we would vote McCain because he at least is a man of integrity. Truly, as Edward Kennedy said, it is time to turn the page. Obama can win against McCain. I do understand how many feminists have wanted a woman President. But we need the right woman President. Obama's victory will mean a great redemption for our country and will make us all so proud again of America.

I am not an american but I know for a fact the world is watching. It is time that america regain its respect in the world. The universal power has placed that person to take america through this millieum AMERICA miss this chance and there will not be another for a long time. Truly if god is to bless america then its through Mr. Barack Obama Trust me on that one. This feeling has never happened to me before.

I wish I was informed enough to sort through all the issues we as a country are faced with to truly determine who is best. However, I like most Americans, am busy with trying to provide for their family. For me the choice is simple, I support Barrack Obama because he speaks the truth and I know as long as we can believe in what our president says, we will be alright. Today, I read in the paper that Barrack Obama snubbed Hilliary Clinton "Please". What was the reason she was wearing that Bright-Red suit? American's don't be a fool again, and the media don't let Hilliary and Bill play you like a puppet.

You mean the NY Post doesn't want to help continue the Bush/Clinton back-and-forth political dynasty into perpetuity? Darn it.

Obama is by far the best candidate. Based on his background, leadership abilities, and policy positions he has my vote. He is also the cleanest candidate in my opinion. I just found this website that shows Hillary has way too many skeletons that will come up again if she is the nominee. Obama is relatively clean and honest when he makes a mistake.

This is not a site that supports Obama. I, however, do!

Rupert Murdock is only doing this because Clinton represents a bigger threat to the Republican Party. Regardless of politics, biased journalism such as this should not be commended.

Stephen, you don't make much sense. I, and many of the Democrats I know, readily admit that Sen. Clinton will not be able to stand against McCain in an election. Democrats from either side will readily flock towards Obama, but if the situation is reversed you may see those Obama swings crossing the line a little bit. This is just common sense, those who are voting Obama are doing so because they can't stomach Clinton, they might not want her so much that it causes a problem. While many of those that endorse Clinton have no grudge against Obama.

This isn't an endorsement of Obama, it's an anti-endorsement of Clinton.
Well I always said, if the republicans hate the Clintons so much, they must be the right choice for America!
