Obama airs national ad; Clinton cries foul
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- If Barack Obama's campaign is worried about relying too much on independents and Republicans to win Democratic primaries, they aren't showing it.
A new 60-second TV ad that's now running nationally on CNN and MSNBC focuses largely on Obama's work with Republicans in Illinois and in the US Senate, and it features yet another clip from Obama's now-famous rejection, in his address to the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, of the Red State-Blue State dichotomy
"This is a man who knows how to get things done," says freshwoman Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, who recently threw her support to Obama. "He understands that we’ve gotta move forward with a different kind of politics."
Despite Hillary Clinton's ability to win more rank-and-file Democrats in the last couple votes, Obama continues to make overt appeals to non-traditional Democratic voters. His rivals were highly critical of his recent praise for former president Ronald Reagan.
Clinton's campaign said in a statement today that Obama's new ad is a "clear and blatant violation" of a pledge the Democratic candidates made last year not to campaign in Florida, after the Democratic Party punished the state for moving its primary to a date earlier than was sanctioned. Many Florida homes watch CNN and MSNBC, her campaign noted. "The Obama campaign knows this, but has chosen to violate the pledge regardless," her campaign said.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton responded in a statement that the two networks said it would be impossible to exclude Florida TV sets from a national ad. "For that reason we consulted with the South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler, who told us unequivocally she did not consider this to be in violation of pledge made to the early states," Burton said.

Judicial Watch has just released new documents from the Clinton Library regarding HRC insurance committee that she chaired. Please educate yourself thoroughly on the Clinton's before voting for them. Yes, I said them, since Bill appears to be running too.

YES! That's right!
The Clinton's are despicable and I hope and pray enough people can see past their lies and Karl Rove tactics to make sure they back fire because their brand of fear mongering and divisive politics is exactly what we don't need more of in the White House.
The DNC should seriously consider Obama as the presidential candidate for the party. I was a long supporter of the Clintons and believe Hillary could do the job. But, what our country needs right now is a unifier, who can build relationships across party lines, without the baggage of the past, special interests groups, etc... Furthermore, I am shocked at the campaign of the Clintons. They are turning off voters.
Obama has brought so much positivity and a new generation of voters to the DNC that if he is not the nominee, we lose a large number of supporters. I also believe Obama has the BEST shot at beating a repub. I am encouraging people to express their desire for a change of direction in the DNC.
The DNC talks about the RNC needs to be more inclusive, well so do they and Obama understands that he is willing, prepared and ready to move America into the future.
Let move forward and not take us back to an old era.

Ridiculous of the Democratic party to disenfranchise a bunch of states in what would likely have been their most well-attended Primary in recent history.
As for Barack, he has the best chance to unify our country, if it can be done. Not just because he gives good speech, but because he's sincere and he consistently stands on principle, even when it's unpopular.
He got the rural areas of NV handily, and he got half the vote in NH where a week before he'd polled 20 points down. And he's got 6 "Red" or "Swing" state Congressional endorsements. Despite the undignified turn this primary has taken, the man is performing phenomenally well.
As to experience? He's got the Democratic endorsements of nouveau-enviro Kerry and tough ol' Leahy, both dinosaurs in experience, and Leahy respectably independent of mind, to boot.
If I was a super-delegate, and I got to choose which candidate's regime I wanted to work with, I sure the heck wouldn't pick any of those currently exhibiting deranged behavior. I would work with the people who made it a joy to go to work every day, and who make it possible to actually get to do an inspiring life's work. Now that is why Barack is going to win.
Another day, more bickering from the Clintons. Ever since Obama began challenging Clinton's entitllement to the Presidency by catching her in the polls in mid-November its been every day, another attack against him. False e-mails, false attack letters, phoney phone banks, personal attacks at your rallies, surrogates going on national tv and lying, then apologizing. If any of the attacks were true, he'd been finished two months ago.
I don't believe anything you say anymore. You and Bill have lost my respect. We want honest government.
I didn't imagine Hillary could be such a negative person. she is trying to win by demeaning her fellow democrats and this is not healthy. why doesn't she air her ads instead?
why doesn't she concentrate on what she has to offer?
she almost broke in tears in NH. she is so soft to be a president of America in such sensitive times.
if she is nominated, no one would be happier than Republicans
Obama's message to unify rather than remain rigidly partisan may seem unfair to some. But I as one white, southern male find it incredibly encouraging. I am totally fed up with the divisiveness and party bickering that impedes meaningful change. If given the chance, I will vote for Obama.
I'm getting sick and tired of hearing about all the ways the Clinton campaign are complaining and whining about the Obama campaign.
First, it's the students in Iowa - which turns out to be completely legal.
Then, it's the Culinary Union in Nevada - which had been agreed to by all parties 10 months in advance, and the Clinton's only brought up AFTER Obama was endorsed.
Then, it was "strong-arming" tactics in Nevada by the Union on behalf of Obama - despite no proof and offering no proof for it.
Now, they're saying that a NATIONAL commercial is "against the rules" - even though the Obama campaign already talked to the Networks and consulted with a Democratic Party Chair.
The Clinton's are resulting to sickening tactics and I'm fast-becoming ashamed to share the same political party with those two.
I think I sense a change in attitude in this country. The number of people who have seen enough of the Clinton divisiveness and distortion has exploded in the past couple of days. Maybe the large audience for the recent CNN debate in S. Carolina finally gave the people in the country a chance to really assess the candidates. Clinton suddenly became desperate after losing Iowa and it is now obvious that she will do anything to marginalize Obama. This election is one of those rare opportunities to create a different political climate if people will let go of the past and seize the future. That's why I still have HOPE for this great country.
this country is better than what we could imagine. over the years i had deep respect for the clinton's, i had a lot of joy each time i used to see either hillary or bill on tv, but after what is going on right now i` am so desappointed and disgusted by their kind of politic.i cannot imagine for even one second after every thing that i hear coming from bill mouth that this man was the president of the usa.this should be a big shame for clinton and his wife.what the rest of the world will think when they see what had happen in the last couple weeks in this campaign coming from the clinton? common guys america is better than that.that is why i continues to believe that barack obama is the perfect candidat of change in this country today.either experience or no,let have someone new in the white house, some one like barack who appears to have a great vision for this nation, i'am so proud of this man, you guys cannot imagine how much proud i `am when i see barack.he is so inspirational and can bring hope ,and he is the one who can cure the disease that this country is suffering from.let give a chance to this man.this country is a republic,it is not a country like saoudi arabia, where the power go from father to son.america is not going to have wife and husband running this country, where are we guys?america is better than that, let stop the biggest mistake ever to happen by allowing this couple to be in power, this is not going to happen in my watch, never.i `am rostan melhy and i approve this message
I find it disgusting that Senator Obama is trying to suppress the votes of people in Florida.
MAKE EVERY VOTE COUNT!!!!!!!!
He broke the rule by airing commercials that he knew would be seen in a state that they were not suppose to campaign in. It us un-American to not have every vote count.
Senator Obama would never try to suppress the voters in Florida. All the candidates agreed. Then no-one talked about it until Mrs. Hillary lost in SC. Right after that lost the first words out her mouth was Florida this and Florida that. I supported Mrs. Hillary here in Iowa and after she lost here she was very rude to us volunteers who spent months making calls and knocking on doors and I have watch how she has made on excuse after another with each state she goes to she works to divide and I don’t like that. I'm not sure what I will do now but It's starting to ring true to me now that "she will do anything to win" not to mention I have started to do little research on some of the Clintons history and I'm not sure I feel safe with the things I'm finding out. The Clinton Chronicles on you tube is scary. We better do our research because we do want a Democrat in the White House Can the Republicans find facts to any of this if so we LOSE!!!! I will go with who every Edwards Endorses.
Plouffe also said: “We inquired about the ability, given our pledge in Florida, to not run spots down there. Both cable systems said that wasn’t possible.”
SO, OBAMA OPTED "THE END JUSTIFY THE MEANS” WHERE IS ETHIC?
JUST LIKE HIS DOUBLE STANDARD ABOUT ABORTION. OBAMA TALKS ABOUT MORALITY AND ETHIC BUT VOTED FOR DEATH. I SAW THE VIDEO.
OBAMA IS AHEAD OF HILLARY BECAUSE HIS RHETORIC AND HAVING THE PRESS FAVORING HIM. IN A CULTURE OF MACHO= MACHO. Now, I am independent . HILLARY OR MC CAIN. THE PRESS NEEDS TO REMEMBER THE COMMANDMENT IMPARCIALITY, .
...
Rules are rules and if the democratic candidates agreed not to campaign in Florida then it should be adhered to and when it was found out that the two networks said it would be impossible to exclude Florida then the ad should not have been aired. If Senator Obama was an honorable man, as he claims to be, he should have done the right thing and lived up to the candidate agreement. Well the people of America really have to find out who this man really is - he is not the man people would like to think he is. It's really too bad............
OBAMA will be the great president. The crisis of Iraq and economic inflation is only be solved by OBAMA. He will make America what it was before not like Afghanistan.
Clinton is a fake. She is a liar and NAFTA. Her husband Bill has prostitution with Monica. So don't vote her.
OBAMA 08.

Interesting to see the January posting, exposing Obama once again. Earlier I wrote a blog about this article but it didn't get posted. Fair is fair. Obama cries saying the rules are the rules. Must be his elitist attitude coming through thinking that the rules don't apply to him. Running 60 second ads in Florida do count as breaking the rules.
Obama also (his choice) removed himself from the Michigan ballot. He knew he was going to lose, so he withdrew his name. Similar to him barely campaiging in West Virginia. He withdraws when he can't win. We need a strong president. Obama needs to tighten his training wheels and move off the sidewalk.
Count the votes and seat the delegates.
The Clinton's are opportunists. And there's a good chance Obama would have won in Mighigan, had he campaigned.
HE COULD NEVER WIN MICHIGAN. I KNOW THOSE PEOPLE AND THEY WOULD NOT GO FOR HIM AT ALL; THEY DON'T LIKE LIEARS AND muslins which he still is; I just read this on the truth Urban Legends; They still attend the Trinity church of Christ where he said he would leave because of Rev; Wright. Wll Oprah and Obama seem to still be a member and are still going. MICHIGAN IS CLINTON TERRORITY, I SHOULD KNOW; WE DON't LIKE PEOPLE WHO SAY ONE THING ONE MINUTE AND CHANGE AND SAY ANOTHER THE NEXT MINUTE; HE HAS HARRASSED HILLARY CLINTON, WHICH BY THE WAY IS A VERY NICE LADY AND HAS DONE ALOT FOR OUR COUNTRRY. IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR THE CLINTONS, WE WOULD BE IN WORSE RECESSION THAN WE ARE NOW;
