Paul says he raised nearly $20 million in final quarter of 2007
Ron Paul said today his presidential campaign raised nearly $20 million in the last three months of 2007 from 130,000 donors.
His haul is far above the campaign's $12 million goal for the fourth quarter, Oct. 1-Dec. 31. And while his Republican rivals have not disclosed their fund-raising totals, Paul's total is nearly double the most any of them raised in the third quarter -- about $10.5 million for Rudy Giuliani and $10 million for Mitt Romney. Paul brought in nearly $5.3 million that quarter.
Paul's campaign said that more than 107,000 donors were new and the average donation was about $90. More than half of the total came from two 24-hour online fund-raising events organized by supporters -- one on Nov. 5, and the second centered in Boston on Dec. 16.
"Only Dr. Paul has the ability to inspire Americans to contribute and take action that is necessary if Republicans want to defeat the Democrats in November," campaign manager Kent Snyder said in a statement.
Paul's fund-raising success, however, has not translated into the polls. And his low standing is freezing him out of a Fox News debate Sunday in New Hampshire, though he and his supporters are protesting that decision.

Think about this...
Just 40 years ago a coke or a cup of coffee costs 10 cents, a gallon of gas costs 30 cents, a new car costs $2,500 and a new house cost $25,000. Today a coke or cup of coffee is over $1.00, gas is $3.00, the new car cost is about $25,000 and the new single family house averages $250,000 or more. Over the last 40 years, prices for all these commodities have increased by a factor of about 10 times or more.
This means that in the last 40 years, the dollar has lost 90% of its purchasing power. Today you need $10.00 to pay for what you use to be able to buy for $1.00.
Why has the US $ lost 90% of its value? Because in the last 40 years the Federal Reserve has printed increasing amounts of paper money to fund excessive government spending for wars and welfare programs – and this paper money has no gold backing. The result has been constant inflation.
The US is on the brink of a financial catastrophe. The dollar is in freefall on foreign exchange markets and there are increasing signs that governments and investors around the world are looking for alternative currencies to use for investment vehicles. The US government is in debt to Foreign Governments a total of over 2.3 Trillion dollars and that borrowed money has been spent on wars and welfare (yes – that’s 2.3 TRILLION dollars). And these foreign governments are not all friends – almost $700 billion is owed to China and the Oil Exporting Countries in the Middle East.
Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that is discussing this coming financial collapse and understands the incredible economic dangers we face.
The Neocons are freezing him out of the debate, not his poll numbers. Candidates with lower poll numbers than Dr. Paul have been invited. Thank Fox News for choosing the candidates for everyone. Fox is already a laughing stock among informed citizens, this just provides more fodder.
The guy raises $19.5 million in the last quarter and yet he's still "low" in the polls?
Hello? Is this thing on? Do the media realize how irrelevant they're about to become? Those people who are out there volunteering their time and money for Dr. Paul are not part of the media's polling database, and certainly aren't part of the current dwindling Republican base that supports never-ending war and never-ending big government. If Paul wins in Iowa, will the polls still show him at "2%?" I suppose his votes are just more robot spammers going into the caucuses, right?
What were wages compared to now?
40 years ago I made $1.25 per hour now $45 per hour - free fall hardly.
If the Republicans are going to win this election, the agenda they are offering is not motivating Republicans to give money to their candidates and that is a hard fact.
Hillary raised $100 million in 2007 and $27 Million dollars in the third quarter by herself without breaking a sweat. When you add in Obamas $21 Million you start to realize that all of the Republicans in the third quarter raised half as much as the Democrats. Huckabee is leading the polls but only has $2 million in the bank as of last week? That lack of funding will not win an election against Hillary or Obama.
Ron Paul was able to entice 130,000 voters to give him $20 million in the last 3 months. And from the recent announcement from the Clinton Campaign, Paul is the first Republican to match Clinton in fund raising. The other Republicans better stop looking at the polls and start figuring out what part of the Paul message they can use to raise real money from real voters or they will lose the general election in November.
The question that no one is asking is why dont the other Republican candidates have 130,000 people giving them money?
We see a CNN Poll of 377 people that still use land lines and assume that is still important. Lots of real people giving real money is what is important now. Hillary and Obama have both. Some idiots believe the Democrats are giving money to Ron Paul to split up the Republicans. If that is true then they are missing the real point which is the Democrats are outspending the Republicans three to one!
The bigger problem is that not very many real people gave money to the other Republican candidates. Romney giving himself money does not represent real voters. Guiliani raising $11 million in Q3 from 5,000 people giving the maximum amount of $2,300 will not convert into a meaningful number of votes in the general election either. Lots of people, giving real money, will win the election.
The Republicans are fighting a loosing battle this time around if they don’t change some messaging now and start generating real money from real voters.
The math don’t lie.
Go to the Federal Election Commission Website and see for your self.
People are inspired to give to Dr. Ron Paul because he is the only Presidential Candidate truly committed to bringing the troops home.
Americans have had it with business as usual type politics.
Hillary Clinton's fundraising dollars come from individuals and mega-rich corporate interests including companies that make money from the war.
Dr. Paul's fundraising dollars come from actual people. Average American citizens who are ready for real change. Can you blame us?
The real story here that I find most interesting is that we have Ron Paul, a Candidate with this profile and political platform that has been systematically taken out by the media.
I challenge the Journalism community to connect these facts together and have the courage to report the real story.
Since Dr. Paul's campaign has begun we have all been told that "he can't win",
and now there is hard evidence that hundreds of thousands of voters know that it's "we won't let him win"
I believe that this is the biggest story in our Country's history and pray that you will be brave enough to report the truth.
I think that America is now ready for a Ron Paul presidency. The middle class is under seige, and they are struggling. Our currency is rapidly self destructing. Our control over government is also eroding. Enough of us have educated ourselves, and the source of our problems is becoming clear:
Excessive taxation, endless war, imperial ambitions, massive illegal immigration, a disregard for constitutional law, loose credit, and free running printing presses for the dollar are the threats we face. Further, a consolidation of power between the media, established government, banks and wallstreet, and the military industrial complex are pushing out any credible attempt at redirecting government.
The Federal Government should provide certain things to the American people:
1) An army to protect our borders
2) A police force to protect our property
3) A court system to protect our rights
4) A diplomatic system to protect our foreign interests (property and rights of US Citizens abroad, etc)
I may have left out one or two, but beyond that there is little else the government can provide more efficiently than private individuals and privately-owned businesses. This includes:
1) Health care
2) Education
3) Farm Tobacco subsidies
4) The Ethanol Program
5) Nuclear Power (DOE, including the SSC supercolider)
6) Transportation (Big Dig, anyone?)
7) Etc, etc, etc....
The above cost taxpayers billions upon billions for worse or no service. We're paying tobacco companies? Are you kidding?
Want change? You won't get it from anyone this election but Ron Paul... Think about it.
What was $1 worth in 2001 = 1.05 Euros.
What is $1 worth today = 0.68 Euros.
What this means: the value of your dollar and your comparative wealth internationally has dropped 40% under our current president's and Federal Reserve's economic and monetary policies.
The guy raises $19.5 million in the last quarter and yet he's still "low" in the polls?

Yes, the inflation tax is the privilege of Kings, it polices the world for the elite and provides excess spending in Washington to spend on maintaining power. Yes, costs soar, wages go up, but not nearly as fast otherwise the inflation tax would be useless. Its theft of savings, its cover for politicians to say they are not raising taxes. Its the reason it takes two basic incomes to get by rather than one over the last 30 years. HOWEVER, when normally they took 3 percent a year it is now far higher, within 10 years or maybe 5 the inflation tax is going to eat away at the middle class and poor far quicker. Dad made 20k a year in 1966, house cost 20k. One years income. Todays kids, say 40k on the low side wage, 400k for the same house or 10 years salary. That is what the Kings in Washington have caused. When Rudy says Dems are going to raise taxes, he means income tax, when he
says he wants a hybrid army and keep taxes low, he means inflation tax. When the Dems say healthcare for all and tax hike, they mean a little of both. Either way, the Kings decide what your savings and wages can buy. Find someone else to vote for.
"old media" instead of "MSM" (mainstream media).
They are old and tired and liars. They are the old way.
=)
The mainstream media received their marching orders from their Zionist masters to suppress the Ron Paul Peace message and silence his voice.
They deceived us into a two unjust wars for Israel and need to stop Dr. Ron Paul pointing his fingers at the blood on their hands.
They want to stop him exposing their ongoing efforts to get us to fight a couple more unjust wars for Israel in Iran and/or Pakistan.
Donate to Dr. Ron Paul campaign. Restore the constitution. Vote for freedom prosperity and peace. Vote for Ron Paul.
Why is Ron Paul taking in so much money -- especially since it doesn't come from special interest groups, but from small donations (average around $100) from individuals? It's because he's the only presidential candidate that brings honesty, authenticity, and integrity to the presidential race.
That's why Ron Paul is moving up in fundraising, polls, and every other measure of popularity. He's the real deal. See this YouTube video from the new, international award-winning feature film, "Song of the Dead." It features horror movie icon, Reggie Bannister, as president of the U.S. -- and it's a hilarious satire on the president, the MSM, and the war on terror. The filmmaker, Chip Gubera, is giving a share of the profits from the film to the Ron Paul campaign.

Okay ~ and your purchasing power on those $45/hr how is it compared to the $1.25/hr ? More or less ?~ will leave it to u as an exercise. You learn more by doing then being spoon fed.
Fox News share holders, your inaction to rectify this matter will be taken into account and remembered.
I'm making a list and checking it twice.

Americans have more purchasing power per capita today than they did 40 years ago. So what is your point exactly?
What a waste!
All those people donating money.....
And if it is not for Ron Paul it will have been wasted!
Ron Paul is the Dr. America needs in the White House. All Republicans in Iowa, PLEASE help save our nation. PLEASE caucus for Ron Paul on Thursday.
The Fox News exclusion is totally bogus. Ron is ahead of Fred Thompson in every New Hampshire poll, yet they invite Fred but not Dr. Paul.
Wake up America, you need Ron Paul as the next President.
I haven't voted for a Republican in 20 years. I haven't voted in a primary in 20 years. So I'm certainly not on their "likely to vote" list, but I changed my voter registration to Republican last week so I can vote for Ron Paul. I'm not only voting this time, it can be 40 degress below and driving snow on election day, and I'll be out there waving my Ron Paul sign!
It's not low poll numbers keeping Ron Paul out of the Fox News forum -- it's simple bias.
Ron Paul is polling ahead of Fred Thompson in New Hampshire.
Ron Paul is polling ahead of Rudy Giuliani in Iowa.
Ron Paul has raised more money than any Republican in the past quarter.
Ron Paul has more volunteers on the ground in NH and IA than anyone.
Fox News has no objective standard for excluding him. The only area he is in sixth place is in national polls, but people in Iowa and New Hampshire are paying more attention. And Ron Paul is raising so much money nationally that the accuracy of the polls is in serious doubt.
Raj,
Good for you. Glad to hear you're dong so well. Those of us on fixed incomes are having a little tougher go of it though.
This means you should dump your bogus polls because they don't mean anything.
Globalism represents a serious threat to our God-given rights as American citizens. It will usher in an era of global tyranny unless America looks for new leadership. In the upcoming presidential election, true change is possible with just one candidate. He is Ron Paul. His congressional colleagues call him “Dr. No” because Dr. Paul never votes for any bill that is not supported by the Constitution. He is the only candidate who believes in limited government and limited government is our best hope for keeping America free. Ron Paul is a true American patriot worthy of your support! No other candidate, Republican or Democrat, will do more to get government off our backs! Excessive government that has abandoned the American people is our biggest problem. Let's take back our country for our people. Be bold, stand with us and strike a blow for freedom!
RPSupporter posted that identical comment on another Ron Paul article recently and I pointed out their apparent ignorance of the term 'purchasing power'. I'm glad you posters jumped all over them about it.
Call your local Fox affiliate and tell them if they choose to air this political forum without equal access for the candidates, you will go after their FCC broadcasting license when they go up for renewal.
The FCC has rules about fair and equal political time. The Fox affiliates may jeopardize their broadcasting license if they air this forum without opportunity for other candidates.
Call your Fox affiliate now and tell them you will file complaints with the FCC when they go for renewal of their broadcasting license.
hey raj i was around 40 years ago and i can tell you people where better off than you kids today. your paychecks are contracting while you save nothing. we had good pay and no debts. what you have today is a fake economy run by the fed based on increasing debt that can never be paid off since its created from debt in the first place. 40 years ago we had no debt either personal or government. shit i made 500 a week in 1976 working in a disco 6 days a week. my relatives all blue collar made more money a year then a lot of people make today. 28 average salary what a joke. i see they have you brainwashed.
Why is it that Ron Paul SAYS he raised nearly $20 million in final quarter of 2007, while Mitt Romney simply "raised nearly $21 million for the Republican primary contest in the first quarter of 2007" - from a Boston Globe article titled "Romney raises $21m in first quarter"
When Ron Paul SAYS he raised a certain amount of money, it injects a certain amount of doubt that he actually did.
He says he didn't do it. He says he's innocent. The Boston Globe says it doesn't have an agenda. Do any of those statements strike you as impartial?
Here's a quote from another Boston Globe article titled, "Elizabeth Edwards: 'This is what I wanted to do'"
"(John) Edwards spoke a day after announcing he raised more than $14 million in campaign money. Sen. Hillary Clinton raised $26 million."
Edwards ANNOUNCES he raised $14 million, Hillary just plain raised it, no questions asked.
How do you get the "SAYS" status removed from your campaign contribution ANNOUNCEMENTS?
How do you get the media to stop using dirty, little tricks to subtlety dissuade the public from taking a candidate seriously?
"40 years ago I made $1.25 per hour now $45 per hour - free fall hardly."
We have had prosperity in this country because of the few economic freedoms we were allowed to have. The prosperity was inspire of the central bank and fed. goverment spending us into oblivion, not because of it.
Just think, that $45/hr should have be $450/hr. You've been robbed blind and you are happy about it. Now thats propaganda control.
Raj... is it possible that you may have gained further training and/or changed fields? 25 years ago I was making $3.35/ hour (plus tips) and now I'm making $6.55 /hour (plus tips) for the same job but that's the SAME JOB. My job does not include raises other then the minimum wage increases and no, not all for the same company but in the same field. Some of us aren't as lucky as you've been. In the same length of time a gallon of milk which used to cost less then $1 now costs $4.20. Seems a bit of an inequity to me.
Seems to me Ron Paul is the best answer for our failing economy.
I've been donating and I'm voting for Ron Paul.
Saint Anselm had their own Mock Primary and students voted for Ron Paul five times more than Thompson. Ask the students and faculty what they think of Fox's decision...

Americans have more purchasing power per capita today than they did 40 years ago. So what is your point exactly?
100 workers
99 at 25k/yr
1 at 1 million
On average income is 35k/year
But 99 out of a hundred fell short by 20%.
The only person who cares about per capita is the boss at 1 million.
I am part of the $19.5 million. For the first time in a long time I am proud to be a part of the political process. Go Ron Go!!!
Ron Paul is my candidate in 2008 and I fully support the Revolution!
Raj.....
Simply put...today it takes over $20,000.00 to purchase what $1,000.00 bought in 1913. Today it takes over $6,000.00 to purchase what $1,000.00 bought in 1968.
If you make $45.00 per hour today then it is like making $5.96 per hour in 1968, so in 40 years your income buying power has increased 0.21% or less than a quarter of a percent; that is not a very good increase in wages now is it?
But you are doing better than most people since most are making far less than you to per hour today. Those making minimum wage today corresponds to making approximately $0.68 per hour in 1968 dollar purchasing power.
So, what happened to all the wealth that has and is being generated by the labor and creativity of the people of this country? It has, in every sense of the word, been stolen from us by inflation promoted and managed by the central banking system and its government allies.
I contributed too! I can honestly say Ron Paul is first candidate I've seen or could vote for that has really brought me hope and not just a choice between the lesser of the two evils!
First of all, the media has not been "freezing" Ron Paul out of anything. I've been hearing about him daily for the past three months. There have been articles about him in the Boston Globe, the New York Times, the LA TImes, the Atlantic, etc. Every American knows who he is; most people simply don't like him.
Most people, when push comes to shove, want abortion to be legal, they want national parks not paved over by condos, they want more than just a skeleton of a government, and they want us to maintain some troops overseas so that third word countries do not develop into terror bases for Islamic radicals who- yes, it's true- WANT TO KILL US BECAUSE WE ARE INFIDELS.
Ron Paul is a kook who attracts other naive kooks. He stands no chance of becoming dog catcher. If you doubt me, just wait until November. Then we'll see.
Paul's fund-raising success, however, has not translated into the polls- I'm assuming you're talking about the kind where they poll people on the phone, and not STRAW POLLS? Because Ron Paul dominates them! - check it: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/straw-poll-results/

I just stumbled upon this site from a link from another Ron Paul article that I was reading. I can honestly say that this has been one of the most intelligent and well thought out threads I have ever read after a news story. I just discovered Dr. Paul in October and I can say that I spend more time reading about him and his campaign than I do anything else. I am totally enthralled with the notion that I might be able to vote for someone who I actually want to win. I've never had that except a little, way back in 92' with Ross Perot. Wow. I'm going to my MeetUp group Thursday so we can canvas here in Alabama. IN ALABAMA!!!!!! I can't believe that liberals and conservatives have banded together to support this man. I can't wait to see the results tomorrow.
So, how 'bout them Cowboys, huh?! That's what most guys are interested in right now. Football. I think most people just want to be entertained. Remember Rome?

How strange it is that this government, not only the Bush Administration, but all of them never learn the most valuable lessons that it's failed interventions produce. This government’s interventions produce the need for more intervention until the whole policy becomes absolutely absurd. Does anyone know just how long we have intervened just into the affairs of Iraq? Over 87 years and what has it produced? In the last 109 years, this country has intervened into the internal affairs of over 200 countries...has this policy worked, has it made us safer, has it made the world safer? NO!
Look at the rest of the Middle East, follow the oil and look at the results of our intervention. We have had our hands in the pie and it has done nothing to stabilize the region, create security for this country or, in the long run, provide economic benefits.
Ron Paul only sounds “crazy” to those who either don’t know our history of intervention or ignore that history because of other agendas. Ron Paul has stated that we have been making the same mistake all these years in Pakistan by supporting another “Shah” as we did in Iran. Once again, since “our man” began to falter in his leadership and power, the CIA once again attempted to diffuse the situation by the reintroduction of Bhutto into the equation and once again, now they are scrambling to find another plan.
The problem with our intervention is that there are no real goals, or at least none that would seem rational in terms of actual nation security for this nation. We can continue with this feckless policy, one that has not produced any real benefits for this country, or we can take a very hard and very sober look at our actions to determine if they are truly to our benefit or just that of Big Oil, Big Business, Big Military and Big Government.
In the end, our actions will once again fail. We will see not only a continuation of chaos in the region, but we will witness the fall of the governments of Iraq, Afghanistan and eventually Pakistan. Security, don’t hedge your bets on the policy of foreign intervention if you want real security in our country; expect more and more attacks against us because of our actions in that region.
So, tell me why anyone would continue to place their faith, and the security of this nation, their lives and the lives of their families into the hands of the same people that have created this mess that now confronts us?
Just another Ron Paul supporter chiming in...
I'd also like to request that you put the clues together, and produce some journalism that makes reference to the fact that, "something is fishy" about the way the mainstream media are portraying Ron Paul's campaign. I see it all over the place; lots of people have heard about Ron Paul, and he is the only presidential candidate for which I've seen any bumper stickers, flyers, or signs -- to date.
I guess it won't be long until we really know how big Ron Paul's support is, but it would be nice to see more media pointing out this interesting point.

when i was in grade school in the 1960's, U.S. citizens were so proud of the fact that we were not fed propaganda like the russian citizens were. i have since travelled the world and lived in europe and spent time in the middle east. now back in the good old USA, i am confounded to see seemingly intelligent friends of mine watching fox news and believing every word of it. fox news is today what i was taught the russian citizens were watching in the 60's. it is what the german citizens were hearing and reading in the early 1940's. our current president's grandfather was the president of a bank in new york that was financing the german nazis. that bank was later punished for supporting the nazis and laundering their money. i wonder if his grandson "george w" has anything to do with what fox news is brainwashing us with?

In a world where elections have come down to the lesser of two evils, I am proud to cast a vote for an honest man. I don't care if he is radical, I don't care if he is old, and I don't care if he is from Texas. He is just a good honest disciplined man with true convictions.
I urge all of you to do the same.
The most interesting thing about Ron Paul's fundraising is that his donors do not expect any special favors in exchange for their contribution. Can any of the other candidates say this? Has any candidate in modern history been able to say it? Ron Paul's supporters aren't trying to buy favors, they are trying to repurchase the freedom guaranteed by the Constitution.
The greatest feat in Dr. Paul’s amazing performances may not be what has been witnessed by the masses, but what has been hidden from them. For this record breaking candidate has attained this profound notoriety while being virtually censored by every major news establishment, including the Republican party.
Ron Paul is certainly the most magical presidential candidate in the race by far. Yet, he owes his accomplishments to genuine transparency and honesty, not sleight of hand. If he fails to produce a top tier finish right before your very eyes, it will only demonstrate that the prodigious conjuring of the American media has trumped him with a spellbinding illusion that he was simply no match for. Wake up America…..
Take the poll…Is Fox fair and balanced?
http://surveyg2.pollingpoint.com/v3r7RgTsGXrhg8
Dr. Paul should be included in all debates PERIOD…
Dr. Ron Paul in 2008
I don't get why a candidate who is running on the platform of "Let the Constitution be our guide" is considered "radical" or "revolutionary." Has America strayed that far from what we fought so hard for?
I don't get why Fox and ABC have excluded Ron Paul from the debates, especially in light of the fact of his tremendous grass roots fundraising and large (uncontainable) internet following. Something stinks real bad here.
At least Dr. Paul cured my voter apathy.
It's not Ron Paul
It's President Ron Paul,
Get used to it MSN.
What are you going to write in a few days..."Paul says he's in the top three in Iowa", followed by "Paul says he's in the top two in New Hampshire"....
We have allowed our country to become the largest debtor the planet has ever known. I find that personally embarrassing. Even if you don't think a non-interventionist foreign policy makes sense, the facts say it is the only one we can afford. Our government is bankrupt, both morally and fiscally. We need a change, and despite what he says Obama isn't it.
Go Ron Paul!
Ron paul signs are everywhere!!!!!
All i see is " Ron Paul RevolUTION.
Please "PRAY" for Ron Paul. There are many wealthy sharks out there that don't want him to win and will do and say anything to discredit him. Exposing the government the IRS and Federal Reserve I am sure, was not an easy thing for him to do. He must REALLY love this country and the people. No other candidate would go to this extent because they are all MONEY and POWER HUNGRY and don't care what happens to the rest of us. He may be AMERICA'S LAST HOPE...
God Bless Ron Paul
Dr. Paul's platform and the proposals he proposes are logically, morally, and legally consistent with the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of these United States of America.
What other candidate, from the Dem.'s or the Rep.'s can say the same? Who was the last person to became President that could?
What part of the Constitution authorizes the Federal Government to do any items on the planks of Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Obama, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Guiliani, Mr. Romny, or any of the rest of them? Why is the answer "No part of the Constitution!?
The answer I to that, I fear, is they don't actually care. Now consider the possible reasons for that!!
A vote for any one but Ron Paul is a wasted vote

who cares, american will get another lying president, whatever you do, whoever you choose. ANY vote in your country is indeed a wasted vote. you better start looking for rockfellers and stupid rothschild family members and get them to the hangin' tree. walk alltogether toward the white house, and establish of popular government, its far from too late if you do that.

Hey Pete,
Last time I checked Ron Paul was a Congressman. I believe that is considerably higher on the political food chain than dog catcher. Ron Paul is not a "kook" and neither am I, nor am I naive.

Hey Pete,
Last time I checked Dr. Paul was a 10 term US Congressman. I believe that is higher on the political food chain than dog catcher. Dr. Paul is not a kook and neither am I, nor am I naive.
If you think we'll have to wait until November to see that he doesn't have a chance, then he will have either won the Republican nomination or changed his mind and decided to run as an independent, Libertarian, or Constitution Party candidate (i.e, he will have made it to the general election).
Your comment doesn't make sense.
I wonder who would win the presidency if all candadates were entitled to a one night segment on each news channel and all candadates were in every debate.
People would realize that America could actually have the idealism that this country was founded for.... and hearing "no more taxes" and "taking care of our own" is on agenda's outside of the mainstream status quo.
Inasmuch as we complain about propagands from other countries... it seems to be what our political agenda is all about. All the hoopla about "Hillary" and "Obama" pretty much tells us that we are being programmed to think that we must vote for one of them or the vote will be wasted (which is untter nonsense).
If we don't have a better "liberty" view than that... then we have no right to impede our views on another country.
