Romney puts more cash into campaign

JOHNSTON, Iowa -- Mitt Romney said today that he donated more of his personal fortune to his campaign in the fourth quarter, which closed yesterday, but he refused to disclose the amount.

"I'm sure I made additional contributions in the fourth quarter, but I don't have any numbers for you," Romney said in a news conference in the basement of a home, where he had just held a house party. "And we're not going to get into the numbers probably until some time in the middle of the month. Right now, we're focused on voters."

As of Sept. 30, Romney reported loaning his campaign $17.4 million, far more than any of his Republican rivals. The former head of Bain Capital is worth between $190 million and $250 million. He reported spending about $45 million through the third quarter.

Peppered with questions after the press conference, Romney spokesman Eric Fehnrstrom challenged the notion that Iowans want to know how much money Romney has spent.

"We've had dozens and dozens of town hall meetings in Iowa -- not one question about how much money," Fehrnstrom said.

  1. Romney has spent money in Iowa to build a strong organization. A beautiful thing. The only reason Huckabee is even close (most recent polls show Mitt Romney has pulled substantially ahead of Huckabee in recent days) is that he was able to stir up latent hatred and bigotry against Romney and his religion (as he did against Catholic Brownback right before the Iowa straw poll). Using Huckabee's fellow ministerial minions he indirectly had the vilest and nasitest lies and inuendo's out to parishoners (I got one myself so I know whereof I speak). Now it looks like Huckabee is at it again with the same kind of lies and out of context half truths being sent out in South Carolina in the guise of a Christmas card from Mitt and his family. Unfortunate though it is it takes a lot of skill and preparation to build a beautiful building (or a strong business, campaign or nation) and only small and ugly hatred and bigotry to knock it down.

Huckster is being examined now and found wanting. He is a liberal in pastor's clothing. As Phylis Shafley said recently, "Huckabee individually destroyed conservatism in Arkansas."

HUCKABEE USES THE CURRENCY OF BIGOTRY AND HATRED IN LIEU OF MONEY!!!

His corruption in Arkansas is coming out and Iowan's (and others) are not stupid
    or blind.

"Judicial Watch" Announced its list of the "TEN MOST WANTED CORRUPT POLITICIANS" FOR 2007 AND HUCKABEE IS RIGHT IN THE THICK OF IT.

If you wouldn't vote for Huckabee if he were a Mormon don't vote for him just because he isn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Thank you for that. I aggree 100%. I am so tired of bigotry in this campaign. I believe a good candidate should stand for something instead trying to just knock others down. This is a good article I found that aggrees. http://workfromhomechoices.com/blog/viral-blogging-what-is-the-price-of-profiting-from-the-politics-of-bigotry-and-hate/
