Romney repeats core message

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor January 29, 2008 09:40 PM

Mitt Romney said tonight he congratulated John McCain for his victory in Florida and said his supporters are "excited, but a little disappointed" with his second-place finish.

Romney then launched into his standard stump speech about fixing Washington and resolving problems such as immigration and healthcare. "Change will begin with us," he told supporters in St. Petersburg.

  1. I really hope this is the beginning of the end for the Stepford Governor. I believe that a man such as Romney with no core beliefs and just the desire for power over wealth is not a good person to lead the US.

  1. Romney is first and foremost a businessman and his priciples are based upon the things needed to make profits. Since one of business's most important principles is adaptation for the sake of catering to the markets for profits, it would explain why he is so prone to changing (flip flopping)on political issues. For him, changing anything and everything to achieve his personal goal is in his nature and it would be dangerous if not disasterous to have that in government.

The president must have integrity which will have cost, sacrifice and unpopularity. I can not see Romney standing for anything which would not benefit himself.

He was made wealthly by being opportunistic and enriching the few. This is a free market economy and that is not a crime, but Government is about the masses, not an elite.

  1. I would vote for Mr. Romney if he first wrote a certified personal check (drawn on a solvent bank) to the U.S. Treasury in full payment of our national debt as well as restitution to our returning military men and women and their families for their service and suffering in the present undeclared war.

  1. In Massachusetts, where voters know Mitt (too?) well, he wouldn't even get re-elected as Governor! The Presidential race appears to be shaping-up (finally, after two decades!!!) as a compelling mandate for change from the way that politicians & lobbyists have taken over our government to serve their own interests Ñ at the expense of the American public.

Although I'm equally troubled by McCain's arteries & Obama's innocence, I'm still less bothered by thoughts of either of them in the White House, than the idea of having one of those soul-less "I'll do anything for power" hacks residing there Ñ regardless of how often they've promised to change the sheets!!!

  1. I would like to be given an estimate of how many people John MCcain personally killed while he was a pilot in the Vietnam war. He must have killed a lot of women and children dropping bombs on those villages
