Romney web ad questions McCain's Republicanism

In its latest web missile aimed at John McCain, Mitt Romney's campaign uses today's New York Times endorsement of the Arizona senator to question his conservative credentials.

The Internet video cites issues such as taxes and immigration on which McCain has strayed from the party line, and shows Democrats praising him.

"No wonder the liberal NY Times endorsed John McCain," text says at the end of the ad.

Romney and McCain are fighting hard for a victory in Tuesday's Florida primary that could give the winner a major boost heading into Super Tuesday on Feb. 5.

Awesome Ad. This is the type of stuff the Dems will throw at him in the general election. They know it will be easy to cast doubt about McCain among republicans. It already is easy to do that!

Look, if anyone seriously thinks His Royal Mittness is a conservative, then they're either: a) intellectually dishonest b.) deluded or c.) gullible. The guy is so tranparent that he'd give the invisible man a run for his money in a game of hide and seek. And speaking of games, if this were a contest of "Survivor: Republican Nomination" why is it that His Royal Mittness would be the first one voted off the island by his fellow candidates?

Unfortunately, John McCain has sold out to special interests and "compromised" Republican values over and over again. His heroism 40 years ago is not enough to overlook the new, aged McCain. He is over the hill and it would be stupid to trust his judgment in economic matters. It's about JOBS, JOBS, JOBS and we are going to have to face up to the fact that Romney is qualified and nobody else is.

It's a good ad and it's TRUE! McCain has been wrong on TOO MANY ISSUES to be our party's nominee. The real "deal-killer" to me was his support for the "AMNESTY" bill for Illegals. Even NOW after the American people have made their OUTRAGE clear on the subject John McCain STILL supports amnesty! No way McCain!

I can't believe that any conservative could consider voting for John McCain! The man has sided more with the democrats than with his party. He is obviously the darling of the liberal media, it's constantly being said that he might be the only republican that can beat a democrat in the general election! That may be true - he IS more democrat than republican. Conservatives can't abandon our principles just to play it safe - it would truly ruin the party. Mitt Romney is the closest person we have to a conservative in this race, we have got to come together and support him.
