Clinton adviser: March 4 races could end race
By Susan Milligan, Globe staff
WASHINGTON -- Hillary Clinton, fighting to revive her campaign after an 11-contest losing streak, will need to consider dropping out if she does not win the delegate-rich states of Texas and Ohio next week, a senior adviser to the New York senator said.
While the campaign is still confident the senator can capture the nomination, ``if we lose in Texas and Ohio, Mrs. Clinton will have to make her decision as to whether she goes forward or not,'' political adviser Harold Ickes told reporters at a breakfast meeting.
After the meeting, Ickes said it would be nearly impossible for Clinton to end the primary season with a majority of pledged delegates -- those determined by the results of primaries and caucuses. Instead, Clinton would need the votes of superdelegates to pull ahead of Obama, he said.
``She would have to win percentages in those states that are just plain unattainable,'' Ickes said, referring to the 16 states and territories left to vote.
Ickes' comments were the strongest public acknowledgement yet from the campaign that Clinton might lose the nomination she was so heavily favored to win just six months ago. While Clinton herself has not shown signs of defeat -- she didn't even acknowledge rival Barack Obama's Wisconsin victory at a rally the night of the Badger State's primary -- the reality of the campaign math is clearly settling into the minds of her staff.
Clinton leads Obama in recent polls in Ohio, which votes March 4 with Texas, Vermont and Rhode Island. A Quinnipiac University Poll released Monday shows Clinton leading Obama by 51 percent to 40 percent. A University of Cincinnati Institute for Policy Research poll shows Clinton ahead by eight points, 47-39 percent.
But polls in Texas show the two colleagues in a virtual dead heat, and Obama has been gaining in strength among several voter groups usually sympathetic to Clinton.
Ickes said Clinton would ``close the gap'' between the number of delegates she and Obama will have by the end of the primary process, but would almost certainly not surpass Obama in the number of pledged delegates. ``The balance is going to have to be made up by the automatic delegates,'' Ickes said.
Ickes repeated Clinton's call to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida, both of which violated Democratic National Committee rules by moving up their primaries to January. The DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee -- of which Ickes is a member -- voted to strip the states of their delegates and to punish any candidate who campaigned in the rule-breaking states by denying them delegates as well
Ickes explained the discrepancy in his positions by saying that he was acting differently in different jobs.
``When I voted on the Rules and Bylaws Committee, I did that as a member of the Rules and Bylaws Committee, not as a member of Hillary's campaign,'' Ickes said.

Stick a fork in her, she's done.
DOUBLE STANDARDS & SEX DEFINE THE CLINTON OBAMA RACE
I HAVE A DREAM -- that a brilliant, experienced Senator will win the Presidency!!! Her name is: Hillary Clinton! If she wins she will be the first woman President… and I’m Hopeful she will win, and have Faith she will do an excellent job -- Hallelujah, the USA may not have the ERA but a capable woman can make it to the highest office in the land… Hallalulah!!! As a woman, Hillary truly inspires me.
Let’s call a Spade a Spade. The way the media is reporting, the Clinton Obama Race is Covered by the Media in a Double Standard. Obama "the man" attacks and is allowed to cry foul instead of admitting fault like a man; and Clinton, the woman is expected to act, "like a Lady.
In a race that pits words -- Martin Luther Kings and JFK's among other greats; where Words of change are more important than experience; where the rules are a double standard (Hillary is admonished for using the words "we'll be fine" on the same scale as "I HAVE A DREAM") let's get real. Obama can do no wrong at a time when lies and half-truths are accepted, but Hillary the woman is held to a higher standard, and she does stand up like a lady. She holds back criticism to protect her party, and clearly has all the attributes of a great President.
Obama is a guy that addressed a congregation in a Church and said he “will bring the Kingdom down to Earth". People are following him like lemmings and “Old Timer” Kennedy backs Obama who’s platform demands, “out with the old” and in with the new. Welcome to my world, where men can slough off accusation of lying and cheating, but Hillary a woman is not supposed to point it out, for fear of being called a “spoiler”. Tough race, that’s for sure.
Let’s call a spade a spade. Much of Obama’s “educated lead” is about SEX. Obama is a man. He may be a black man and racism is not dead, but the civil rights amendment was passed in 1964, and the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment) has never passed. In fact Black men could vote years before women could -- Fact, not opinion. This race of “change” vs. experience will set race relations back for years to come. If Obama was white he would not be a candidate. I believe in affirmative action but this is the Presidency of the USA. The ticket of Hillary/Obama makes sense, but for him to have a commanding lead and no real experience… this is a crowd gone mad, and sexism driving USA politics. Obama is a good speaker but the opportunities to take the lead were set out like a silver spoon.
Men are clearly not ready to elect a woman to the Presidency. This may disrupt their sense of balance in the world. What if their wife gets uppity about it?
We can thank Ted Kennedy in great part for Obama. We can thank Oprah for creating a Black Voter block -- with her celebrity status and influence -- while telling her mostly woman following “vote for Obama” he is the man of the future. Who will learn to do the right thing? I get the impression he will turn the Democratic Party right, and McCain will not hold back, as Hilary has, because she’s a Democrats, and cares about the party. Obama does not hold back either, but Republicans are the masters of playing dirty. Obama will meet his underhanded match in McCain and likely lose.
Obama had some solid help in his quest for dominance in this election, besides Kennedy and Oprah; there were all his special Interest friends in the banking and Investment Industry. Move-on, for the first time ever endorsed a candidate sending him 7.6 million days before Wisconsin. (I have unsubscribed to Move-On in protest). Bullying was big factor in Obama’s quest for the Presidency. Blacks, who formerly supported Hillary, were called “Uncle Toms”. I was railroaded off a prominent Politicians website, by the lone woman active on a mostly men forum – when she swift boated me and accused me of being manic for wanting Hillary. Obama is not Mr. Clean by any stretch of the imagination. Now he’s telling Ohio Blue Collar workers, that Hillary is responsible for NAFTA and printing OUTRIGHT LIES about her plans for Universal health care. “SHAME ON YOU OBAMA” Hillary has countered. His manager sloughs it off and denies the lies, quickly changing the subject. Obama has waged a calculated front to undermine the importance of truth, and seek to destroy the brilliant woman who would be President.
Let's call a spade a spade, Obama is not qualified, but he’s a man. I would bet, his lies are ignored, because the “educated people “ voting for Obama lie too. One lies the other swear to it. I don’t hear Hillary lying. I see her looking and being Presidential. Ultimately, I HOPE and have FAITH in the American people that lying, cheating, swift boating, printing and spreading trash, has not become so acceptable that we will let a Junior Senator, even if he looks good and sounds like a preacher fool us into thinking he’s ready to lead.
Based on his performance so far, if Obama loses to Hillary he’ll accuse her of something she did that hurt him, because he takes no responsibility or say OK I did that so what, I’m busy go way. If he wins the nomination and loses to McCain, he’ll probably blame Hillary. Obama shrugs off guilt like a master, while implying she’s in the wrong for even mentioning it. Good Husband Trick! A a woman, and Democrat, I’m mad as Hell, really. After all this time, the sexist ceiling is still not broken in the USA.
If Hillary loses, the big winner is McCain.
Clinton camp sits back, rubbing their hands together in glee, as they think on the next Evil Plot to let loose on the annointed one. The reason why Obama is winning because he is not about this GOT-CHA politics, but chooses to debate the issues. Believe me, as all of us know, he could bring up all kind of Dirty things on the Clintons, but this is negative politicking, politics that tears you down and not build you up. Obama is not about this, he wants a more uplifting and unifying tone to dominate Washington, so we can get some things done. Time waits for no one and we must measure up to our times. We must find newer and more positive ways to do things and address our problems. It's called problem solving. And Obama has over 20 years of experience coupled with Judgement.

Hillary, thanks so much for the way you have ran your campaign, I just went and gave a contribution to Barack Obama. Go to youtube and type in Hillary and Peter Paul, you will find out more about her and what she is all about. Also check out her "yes we will" speech, it is way too funny....She is great material when you need to laugh, makes me think of Howard Dean and Primal Scream!
``When I voted on the Rules and Bylaws Committee, I did that as a member of the Rules and Bylaws Committee, not as a member of Hillary's campaign,'' Ickes said.
Politics as usual....
It is time for change! GO OBAMA '08!!!
Harold Ickes, thankfully, will be done when the Clintons fold their tents and tramp south.
White trash and his much abused loyal wife.
Maybe some day the story of how the Clintons abused three regal Black ladies: Lani Guinier, Marian Wright edelman, and Joycelyn Elders.;
Go Barack !
Since neither Clinton or Obama are competent to lead anything more complicated than a pep rally it really makes no difference who wins. I cannot, as a refugee from a socialist state, understand why the American people would so willingly sell their freedom in exchange for "socialized" medicine or an ominously enlarged central government. It amazes me that American liberals can rightly and justifiably express outrage when the central government lies to us and abuses its power, and then turn right around and hand these criminals another bureaucracy, another grant of power, and another chunk of our individual rights. What do you liberals use for brains? Do you seriously think that government is suddenly going to be honest and efficient? Even accepting the good faith and good intentions of either Obama or Clinton, and I do, do you really think that those good intentions will overcome an entrenched Washington bureaucracy that will pervert the system and abuse power? Although I dislike John McCain intensely, I will vote for the candidate that does not expand the power of this corrupt central government.
Harold Ickes is truly a member of Hilarys campaign. You can tell because he is now, like Hilary,"talking out of both sides of his mouth." As mentioned in the above article he voted to strip the states of their delegates and to punish any candidate who campaigned in the rule-breaking states (Michigan and Florida) by denying them delegates as well but now is advocating Hilarys call to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida. "When I voted on the Rules and Bylaws Committee, I did that as a member of the Rules and Bylaws Committee, not as a member of Hillary's campaign,'' Ickes said. WHAT A BLOW HOLE, TYPICAL OF THE HILARYS CAMPAIGN.
Get out Hill before you lose anymore of your dignity ! Your latest " African Picture " stunt was a desperate and disgusting attempt that shows us yet another one of your " voices " we can no longer stand !
A Reuters/Zogby poll from Feb. 16 shows Obama defeating McCain, 47 percent to 40 percent, and McCain handily defeating Clinton, 50 percent to 38 percent.
------
And that should do it
The best part of this story is that Ickes all but admits to his hypocrisy in supporting counting the Michigan and Florida delegates. Those primaries were invalid BEFORE they happened. You can't win a race that's not official, with none of your opponents even competing, and THEN demand to have it count. That kind of bull from the Clinton campaign is exactly why she's losing. She'd have made a great president, but she's too slimy for me to ever even consider voting for her.
Counting the delegates won in Michigan and Florida would truly be a case of disenfranchising voters. Consider this: Obama was not even on the ballot in Michigan and thus the election results could not seriously be considered. And in Florida, although his name WAS on the ballot, democratic voters were told that if they voted, their votes would not count. This clearly affected the results because in every other state, democratic turnout has been "record breaking." In Florida, it was normal or somewhat higher than normal, but certainly not of the level where voters believed their votes would count. If you now turn around and count this as a valid election, the people who are disenfranchised are the people who followed the rules and played the game the way they were told that they were supposed to. Changing the rules after that type of scenario smacks of "cheating." I guarantee you that I am not the only one that feels this way.
Seat the delegates from Florida and Michigan? Even to suggest that is so disgracefull of Hillary and her campaign. DNC stripped those states of their delegates for violating the party rules and both Hillary and Obama agreed to those rules at that time, and Obama did not even have his name on the ballot in Michigan. So those primaries were only for the name sake. Well, it is going to be like this with Hillary and Bill, win at any cost does not matter how dirty it is. And god forbid if she becomes the DEM nominee and becomes the president, no doubt she will continue the same tactics over and over (just like Bush). Just see, only last week she seemed to be so gentle and accommodating during the debate in Austin, now she is on the rampage like Medusa inthe Greek mythology. This woman is a very dangerous person for this country, we will be better off with Mccain (even in his belted shields). She needs to be STOPPED!!
If he Super Delegates disregard the decisions of the rank and file voters, the Democratic Party will go down to defeat in November.
Ickes is simply one of the slimiest human beings alive. He gives democrats (and Hillary) a bad name. I sicnerely hope that he is not only dismissed fromt he clinton campaign, but also from the executive of the democratic party.
He has been dishonest, two faced and opportunistic, he is Rove posing in sheep's clothes. I would bet even money that he was behind the plagiarism accusation, the xerox comment, he says without shame that he wants to violate Clinton's good fiath agreement and seat the FLA delegates, he wants to call superdelegates automatic delegates, and would have no compunction having the election stolen from the will of the people using these "superdelegates" reminds all of us not only what is wrong with politics, but what is worng with the Clintons that they would continue to have such a man speak on their behalf.
We are going to support you in Ohio Hillary!!!
Nooooooooooooooooo BAMA!!!
I look forward to when it is Clinton vs McCain and these childish bashers are gone.
I totally agree with #13, #14, and #15 (above). But it really doesn't matter, for you and me. Read Howard Zinn's best-selling "A People's History Of The United States."
"Although I dislike John McCain intensely, I will vote for the candidate that does not expand the power of this corrupt central government."
LOL. McCain fell in with the party line and is supporting Bush all the way, down to the waterboarding, and Bush has created the largest, most intrusive government America has ever seen! And it's hemorrhaging money on an unwinnable war. If we're going to hemorrhage money, I'd rather it be on health care and developing new energy sources.
Let's get one thing straight. No state was stripped of their delegates. Not Florida, not Michigan.
Each state can still hold lawful primaries or caucuses to select what delegates they want seated in Denver. The fact that these two states chose, and continue to choose not to conduct such events, is completely the choice of those states. Nobody is stopping them from having their voices heard except themselves.
All they have to do is hold new primaries or caucuses and then they can seat their delegates.
Wti
Whoa Susan.. I would vote for you if you ran...
Attention all voters: Please leave BOTH your ovaries and favorite pigmentation at the door, turn any available brain on and cast your vote.
Hillary will be President, and she will go down in "his"story as one of America's greatest! History was a word most likely invented by a man. It's time we changed history to "her"story. Come on people, why are you so afraid of such a brilliant and devoted woman for President? The best thing that men do is fight and kill. That is how evolution designed us. We are still that way. Give a lady a chance, please.
It's interesting to see how negative she's become as her campaign goes down the tubes. The Drudge Report has that photo they got from the Clinton camp that they were spreading around to support the "Obama is a Muslim" lie, then they have the temerity to suggest that he's doing something wrong for complaining when they know that they're trying to support that lie, as if they're circulating an ancient photo just for fun.
But everywhere I go, I keep seeing people saying that they donate to the victim every time they see some mudslinging. That's a very clever way to punish it.
It's no wonder to me why one camp is out of money and the other is well-funded.
I would like thses two great candiates to continue and fluses out any weakness in their candidacy. The more you been critized by friendly fire more you stronger you become. Republican macinaries will not be seat idles in the next phase.
When you take out the gender from Clinton, and you also take out the color from Obama, what do you all people see? This is the right question for the Democratic voters, and for the people of the United States to answer.
What I see is that the truly right presidential candidate is emerging.
The reason Hillary will lose is not sexism... it's because she is so entrenched in the dirty old politics of Washington D.C. -- she voted to authorize Bush' war, but that's not what she meant to vote for... she supported NAFTA when her husband was President, but now she's against it.... she promises change, but her top adviser Mark Penn has a long history as a lobbyist for the cigarette industry... she voted FOR the patriot act, has said that war with Iran is possible under her administration, same old same old...
Sure, sexism is still alive in this culture, but the real reasons why I'm not voting for Hillary and supporting Obama is that the time has come for new energy, a new team, a fresh approach to solving problems, let's fire everyone in the old Washington circles and replace them with a new team ready to get some work done the only way it will be done, in a BIPARTISAN manner. Obama can accomplish that, Clinton cannot.
people in Florida and Michigan are american people with rights, so their votes shoul be counted. it is not for Obama or Clinton but for the american priviledge to vote.
Response to #15:
If so, tell John Kerry and Ted Kennedy to endorse Hillary Clinton since She won MA with a big margin. They should not ignore their constituency.
You people are insane. You call Obama the annointed one!! You treat him like Jim Jones, David Koresh, Rev Moon, or Adolf Hitler. You all scare me. If Obama is elected president I sure don't want his cult followers attacking anyone who disagrees with him like they did in Nazi Germany.
Obama just whines when things don't go his way. He is arrogant and dismissive and I just don't get his appeal. At least not as a president.
God help us all when we want to elect a president endorsed by Louis Farrakahn.
i am almost certain that fox news and all the other consertavies are holding back on obama about hoe thry really feel race and all until after hillary is out because they know they can beat him he just does not have the expirence against these kind of people
"automatic delegates"
I still laugh every time I hear that phrase. Good people of Texas, do the right thing and finish off the long goodbye. Everyone is tired of it, and she clearly doesn't understand that America is no longer buying what the Billary Clintons have been selling.
We need a leader that melts down like a three year old and claims to be ready day one. If this were not so whacky it might seem humorous.
The whole concept of Super Delegates is a disgrace to the American people and the true definition of democracy. To allow super delegates to vote for a candidate that was not chosen by the vast majority of voters is outrageous and smacks of corruption and tainted elections. If the democratic party pulls this stunt, the outcry and backlash will all but guarantee a McCain victory...
i don't understand how people can be so biased here: hillary has been treated unfairly from the very beginning. unfortunately, she's the only person with the strength to beat the republicans and lead this country in this difficult time. more unfortunately, she is a woman- sth so many sexist in this country cannot accept. obama is a typical symbol of the corrupting culture today: shallow, beautiful on the outside, lies and dirty tricks behind closed doors. if americans don't wake up on mar 4, it's more than another 8 years we are choosing to lose.
Hillary is done. She needs to bow out. She isnot the "annointd one". Who wants four years of Bill meddling in affairs of state?
Anyone seen the Clinton/ McCain connection???
I just stumbled on this little morsel. Not really sure of the validity maybe someone can varify...

Check it out & yack it up.
We keep hearing how Clinton leads in the polls, then she loses by large margins, could the polls be that far off? Maybe it is because polls are taken from registered dems, and do not include independants. Generally, her losses to strictly dems. are not by a great number, but when independants are figured in, the difference skyrockets. Obviously her campaign staff doesn't consider this. Students and other young people are frequently not registered, or register as independants.
Pundits have been wondering who the "real" Hillary Clinton is. I honestly believe we are seeing the real Hillary Clinton... she smiles at your face, stabs you when you turn your back, blames everyone but herself for her problems, and vascillates all over the place. One day she's sweet as sugar, the next she's a hornets nest. I don't think she's particularly stable. Maybe she's lived inside the bubble too long. At any rate, she's certainly not presidential material. I'm not expecting miracles or anything close to them from Obama. But he's young, bright, articulate, visionary and inclusive. Given the other options, those qualities look pretty good.
What none of you obama people seem to understand is that a black man is unelectable. Nominate Obama and you give the Republicans four more years at a minimum. Remember McGovern? Once again the Demos are about to shoot themselves in the foot. I am not a racist. but you need a dose of reality and you need to understand that a majority of the voters in this country are. But then, you will have the comfort of knowing you did the 'correct' thing as the Republicans shaft us again. jeeze will we ever learn?
Doesn't Hillary's mouth look sorta like a chichens behind just after it has laid an egg? Either she has just eaten something just before she takes the microphone or she is licking her chops looking at a gullible America. I have to click the remote fast now. Can't stand to hear that woman anymore. Oh, by the way, I don't like any of our choices for President. It is a shame that we can't attract someone that isn't so dog-gonned hateful. One thing I like about Mr. Obama is that he says that he will work with the Repubs whereas ol Hillary says she'll "take them on". Folks, that is the problem with politics. Too much of "taking them on" and not enough of "lets get together and make this country work for everyone.
Susan --
I am sorry I just do not see your point about Barack vs. Hillary. Both candidates are very effective people and could do a good job running the country.
The question in this election is not male vs. female or black vs. white. It is establishment vs. new. Hillary is out of touch with the electorate and it shows in her comments.
1. She goes after Barack for using lines that were given to him by a co-chair of his campaign.
2. Repeated hints that Barack has done well because of his race.
3. Her campaign's actions to try and paint Barack as a muslim.
These are just a few examples but they show how she does not understand what the people are looking for.
1. People all know that candidates don't write their entire stump speech. Calling Obama out on the speech really was silly.
2. People want a person who will unify the country and also improve the United States' reputation in the world. Diminishing a persons accomplishments on the basis of race is small minded.
3. Barack is not a Muslim. Hinting at that because he repected the traditions of a locale he visited is simply not right.
That's all. I am sure that I have not changed your mind, however, we can agree to disagree.
We've had a Bush or Clinton on the Presidential/Vice Presidential ticket for 28 years!! And just as Bush II has proven to be infinitely worse than Bush I, so will a Clinton II. Enough! I am voting for true change, Obama,
This latest deperate attempt to besmirch Barack Obama by showing him pictured in a tribal African dress when he was visiting Africa is NASTY and DECEITFUL, and just the type of politics the Clinton's are good for. They MUST be related to the dustbin of history. Her campaign is as BANKRUPT as her policies.
Time to pack up your bags and go Hillary. America doesn't need this kind of mud-slinging from you. SHAME ON YOU HILLARY! SHAME!!!!!!!!!

If elitist super delegates flout the will of the people, the people will not ratify the super delegates' coup de tat in November.
You must be naive to think that whicever website showed the Obama photo in Kenyan or Somalian garb is telling the truth that the Clinton staffers sent it out. Just for what purpose? A political fall-out? So simplistic and childish stuff. It must have been done by a Clinton opponent - Republican or Obama staffers themselves. Americans, grow up! Think beyond...your biases!!!

The picture Clintons are distribuiting of Barack dressed in Muslim-African garb is beyond belief. How could the Clintons hold their heads up after such a disgusting tactic? She's gone whacko! Hopefully, she'll come back to her senses and show some class as this nominating process reaches the inevitable conclusion that Barack is our up- and -coming leader.

The Clintons are up to (more) no good...... She can do no wrong-just ask
Billary that .... she claims she has"leadership" IQ from when she was in Ark.,
as "first lady", as Sen.from NY... ...HER assatempt to get healthcare while first lady sure FAILED and F A I L E D badly......NOW - as President --- ~ by order of the President YOU WILL get health Insurance and have the payments deducted from your pay... cost too much ? get a second job then...
As far as her being " Commander - in - Chief " ~~~ GOD HELP THE MILITARY
with-in a couple of years she would most likely cut the military to the 'bone' !
1 more item: If U love the good old USA - Vote 4 the Big O or 4 the Big Mac
FOUR years of the Clintons - JUST NOOOOWAY
Seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida? There ARE no delegates from Michigan and Florida! To have party delegates, you first have to have a party-sanctioned election. (Hey, my cousins and I had an election the other day and we selected a whole bunch of delegates: let's seat them too!) Can we stop talking about mythical delegates, please?
That being said, it's sad that we Michiganders (OK, and the Floridians too) have been disenfranchised. I don't really care who wins, but I would like to have a real contest here. (I think Hillary would win here in Michigan, but it would be a lot closer than our fake primary was.)
it's kind of fun to watch two democrats using their sorry tactics ( the politics of PERSONAL DESTRUCTION they all complain of ) on each other...I notice you all notice it when a Conservative is not on the receiving end!!
BRAAAAAK and BIllary both also use a lot of Carl's principles as their platforms... Carl Marx, that is..
BRAAAAAK just HOPEs you don't realise the only thing he will actually CHANGE is your taxation rate....!
Yes, she needs to stop before disgracing herself further.
The Clinton campaign seems desperate. If this is how Hillary Clinton would react under pressure in office, then she certainly isn't presidential material.
She is being very undignified. Perhaps she and her supporters rationalize this
behavior as being tough.
Strong, in my estimation is acting dignified under pressure....like Senator Obama.
I don't think Hilary draws the moderate Republican, because she was hated while Bill was in the office. She is seen as an evil of "Liberals" at that time. While Obama's position is similar to Clinton, he brings in the "values" that are shared by the moderate Republicans, which Clintons do not carry. The Christian Values that are deep rooted in this country. The Work Ethics of this country. The "Values" that are shared and been beaten, slashed and discarded by the last two administrations. This is the distinctive difference between Obama and Clinton.

I agree with this article fully! People are so blind to what is going on! The Republicans are going to be rough on Obama, but if Hillary steps that way it is woe on her. That is absurd.
When it comes down to the base of Hillary's support, it is the older generation. I do not see my grandparents voting for someone not in there generation for a person that is (McCain). That alone gives Florida to McCain. Then, Ohio is racist period. There are still tensions that are undeniable. If you can't win Ohio, you can't win the presidency. You can "have a dream" all you want to, Obama will never be the next president. We, as a democratic party, need to stop electing John Kerrys.
U
Obama talks and talks and talks, but no substance !!
christopherm,
you are a refugee from a socialist state? that means you fled to the u.s. for your safety. if you don't like it here, go back home and stop complaining about the presidential candidates. we don't want you.
Susan bitch you are out your damn mind, and i get the SPADE comment to you bigot, just like a clinton fan to concentrate on race and sex and not concentrate on the fact that americans want someone who inspires us to better ourselves and not just the nation as large.
Movements for change from democracy to christianity were started by the people from inspiration from men not government programs.
And if you want play the gender card name me one thing a woman has ever done to better the human race on any continent other than making babies. look i love women but if you want to play with the big boys you have to play by the rules.
obama beats mccain in every poll and mccain has problems of his own, if obama can beat clinton (bill and hillary), biden, edwards, gravel, kucinich, dodd, and richardson and outraise the entire gop presidential field then honey it ain't affirmative action its success something you know nothing about. BITCH!
Super Delegates were not established to parrot the "voice of the people." They were created as a way for the party leaders to step back and consider INDEPENDENTLY who is the best candidate to represent the Democratic party. The people's voice is the other 80% of the votes. I for one do not blindly trust the voice of the people. Look what that got us TWICE- George Bush! The rules are the rules... now try to play fair in the sandbox.
I guess I'm not suprised by anything in US politics anymore. People move to candidates that sound good, look good, and rhetorically pillage words like change. Unbelievable! The media and everyone as annointed Obama saviour of the world. Get real people! One of his advisors is Zbigniew Brzezinsky, former advisor to Jimmy Carter that authored the Carter Doctrine. It states we would go to war to protect the "interests" (read energy supplies) of the US in the Middle East and we would not allow any challenges to US interests to grow. He's talked about attacking Pakistan, he's nothing close to change...but rather just another WARMONGER! Not to say Hillary is any better (500,000 Iraqi kids were killed during her husbands reign of terror). They're only beef with Bush on Iraq is that he didn't do it right. That's all. Wait to see what awaits us.. These two are more dangerous than Bush or any other rightwinger.....because they inspire and they move people. We'll all be straight arm saluting if any of these candidates win!
HILLARY: release your tax returns for te public to see. Obama has released his already, and this is standard practice for someone to do who is running for the presidency.
Why hvae you said you would not release them until AFTER the Democratic Convention. Where did you get the $5 million you loaned your campaign?? You stated it came from a joint account you share with Bill. But you and Bill were really poor until the last few years. Now you and Bill are multimillionaires. WHERE DID YOU GET THE MILLIOINS, HILLARY?
Did the money come from some foreign source(s) ??
AGAIN, I SAY: Hillary, release your tax returns !!! And while you're at it, have Bill authorize the Clinton library to release the records of your days as First Lady.
I myself, think the one to be our next President should be Hillary Clinton, and The Vice President should be Obama as the two of them together could help our country..the good ole USA! The experienced one will prevail, and that is Hillary Clinton and whom i'm voting for.
Harold Ickes is not only being ridiculous, but he also insults the intelligence of the American people. What he is saying is, "As someone wearing the hat of a member of the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committe, I believe that it is only fair to strip Michigan and Florida of their delegates. Now, I take off my DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee member hat and wear my hat as a Clinton campaign adviser, and I say that I'm fully and vehemently against the decision which I voted for to strip Michigan and Florida of their delegates. What a lout!
The way I see it is the candidates are getting ever closer to the election. Their support groups are all fired up and throwing everything out. All the dirt, pictures and insinuations. i grew up in Boston. I remember the Kennedy election like it was yesterday. I was only a young teen. I at that age disliked all the accusations. My Dad was democrat . My Mom was republican. Both were very opinionated with strong motives for their beliefs. i don't know for sure which way both of them voted. I knew who i wanted. Now I want someone with some moral principals who can stand up for what is right decent and the American way of life. I don't want a candidate that wavers in the breeze under pressure. I want a God fearing candidate who shows that example and lives it in his actions and words.
As a Zambian who has been following the unfolding events in USA's 2008 elections I should say i am very disappointed with the general conduct of the Clinton camp. They all appear to show one thing:DESPERATION and DISAPPOINTMENT. On the other hand i have liked the oneness exhibited by all the American people. It seems the 'COLOUR' tendencies are a thing of the past. As for Hilary am surprised she is using underhand methods that are usually used by Africa's selfish and corrupt leaders desperately looking for a cling on power. I thought she was that SHARP
It took this election for me to understand the depth of ugliness and lack of character and self-respect voters have when it comes to expressing themself!!!
That coupled with the nasty, personal attacks on Hillary Clinton and the bias shown by the MSM!!! Talk about a double standard.
Unfortunately the voters are hell bent on not electing the most qualified candidate.
So buckle your belts and be ready for another four years of what we have now!
If Obama wins the nomination the Republicans will win in November.Hillary has proven she can win California,Florida,New York,Michigan,Mass,Nevada,New Mexico,Arizonia. All major states. On the otherhand most of Obama wins have been in Red states in small cacus votes. In November,Idaho,Montana,Nevada,SD.ND,Mo,LA,Georgia,NC,SC,Texas,Florida,California,Ark,Tenn, will all go Red if Obama is on the ticket.Hillary can win the big states. No matter what the polls say,I see McCain beating Obama in a landslide. With America at war the country will go with experience, over "I have a dream".I have been voteing since 1960,and my gut feeling leans towards Hillary. The world is watching, that includes our enemies.Experience now more than ever is very important.
Barack don't have the guts to be president. He is way too green. His name Barack Hussien Obama suggests he may have ties to the middle east and could destroy America if he were elected. Hillary is smart and can take us in the direction we need to go. Vote for Hillary and you will be glad you did.
It is intersting how each person perceives the way candidates are running the campagne. Clinton supporters will see Obama as running a dirty campagne and Obama supporters see Clinton campagne doing dirty tricks.
The way I see it is that they are both running dirty campagne. I can see that Obama isn't all that innocent but he has people believing that he is. His wife says that souls of American people are broken and Obama can repair them. My soul isn't broken and I don't know any souls that are broken.
A soul is a direct representaion of God in all of us, so how does a soul get broken. It can not and it does not. So how does one repair something that is not broken?
Okay, so we may be asleep at times and we may need to wake up at times. but we are not broken. Our egos may be broken but not our souls. Yes we go through expereinces that are tough and sometimes very painful but those experiences are also stepping stone for our growth and give us a strength to overcome.
When I read a transcript of the speech that was given by Michell Obama last Tuesady, I started to wonder whom she was speaking to. How in anybody's right mind will trust someone who says that he can repair broken souls unless they feel that their souls are broken. Is Mrs. Obama telling us that our souls are broken and Obama is the one who can repair them. And we are to believe in him. This is getting a bit too spooky for me.
Bush took us to a war using God on his side, and now Obama is using God to get elected. A politician should leave this area to those who teach spirituality. What concerns me is that Obama can say anything and people will follow.
I know that Obama has been distributing flyers smearing Hillary Clinton and turning her supporters to go against her. And his campagne accuses Hillary for running dirty attacks. Now she is fighting back and why shouldn't she?
We must step back and disconnect ourselves from the media, politicians, and candidates and become more rational. We must exercise our personal power to challenge the media to stop airing opinions that are bias and unfair.
In response to the comment #15, what do you think of Ted Kennedy campagning for Obama when Massachusetes voted for Hillary?
And what are your thoughts on Obama airing TV ads in Florida before the primary? Do you consider that campagning?
This is my personal prediction that Hillary Clinton first women president in USA 2008 makes new history.
Anybody but McCain.
Clinton and Obama are good.
Ron Paul is best.
Huckabee is so-so.
Woe to America if McCain becomes president.
Doesn't this country desrve a pure american from parents who were born and brought up in the US and have a family whose ancestors lived here.Have any of you thought if obama is even loyal to our country , you inheret love to your country from your parents through your genes and parenting , the guy was brought up in indonesia as a kid , where the bali bombers were raised , I wonder what are we looking at here .
Comment #4 is so right. I had seen that piece on the Clintons secret life and it is scary stuff. Check it out!
There is nothing kosher about Sen. Obama. He is a product. In 2004 he was asked about a run for the WH in 2008 and he himself said "no I don't have enough experience". He is the product of the national media and of some well seasoned politicians and speech writers. What a desperate country we have become to put someone like this in charge.
Inspiration is from the heart, he is a fake.

Hillary will do and say absolutely anything. She will contradict herself, lie, make up things, you name it to get the nomination. She agreed not to campaign or allow votes to be counted form Fla. and Mich. , but did campaign and now wants votes counted. Said she has 35 years of fighting the Republicans. Say what? She got into the Senate based on her hubbies name, no acheivements of her own except the scorned wife. Her attempt at doing something while at the White House - develping a health care plan, was a dismall failure. Her bio shows the only "leadership" job she ever had was the head of the Arkansas Educational Standards board. Where's all that leadership she keeps talking about? My neighbors are Senate staffers. When Hillary got to the Senate, no one wanted to work for her. She's mean, pushy and has no leadership skills at all. All she can ever talk about is , " we need to have a dialogue" or "I'm out talking to people and know their problems". Don't be fooled. She has her own agenda, and if she everr gets near the White House, all that dialogue is going out the window. Remember what teh Clinton White House was like. A new scandal every week. That was the Clinton legacy. Expect to see more of the same. The facts remain as they are.
We've got a crush on O B A M A !!! I can't get the song out of my head!!!!
Hillary is a political chameleon who is afraid to follow her own internal compass. She goes with what her political advisers tell her over what her gut tells her because she has no guts. If she is so experienced and ready for day one how do you explain her not being able to defeat a political neophyte like Obama? The way she has run her campaign shows how poor her management skills and judgement really are. Obama has however shown that he knows what he's doing and is more ready to lead than Hillary. We all know that Hillary will soon go to work for McCain. We know that because she truly feels that she is much more important than her party. We all know she'll be aiming for 2012 the moment she's lost in 2008. Her narcissism and sense of entitlement are sickening.
After following many printed articles and commentary on TV and radio, it is just plain to see that there is definitely a double standard when it comes to any discussion about Hillary and Barack. Hillary gets negative comments if she says anything that portrays Obama in a negative light e.g. "his flyers on Nafta". Whenever Obama does or says anything negative about Clinton, its fair game. Probably Clinton will have to say goodbye after March 4th, but what I admire about her is that she is willing to give it her best shot. That's what I admire about this woman. My advice to her is don't concede, fight for what you believe in. In my opinion, most Obama supporters are delusional like he said in the debate. Hopefully when he fails to deliver, I hope all the newspapers all over the country who endorsed Barack will not start tearing him down. You know they have a habit of building up a person and later tearing them down. Ask Nancy Kerrigan.
S O R R Y Hillary has no alibi she's sorry yes yes so sorry
Recently at an Obama Rally and heard that catchy tune. Pass it along.
You're done Hillary!!
The problem with some voters is that they are not patient or mature enough to see through a Rah-Rah speech

At one time I would have voted for who won You or Obama. No more. Your negative campagne disgusts me. Your dirty fighting wants to drag Obama down to your level until he has to defend himself. you obviously love fights and confrontations. i do not think that is wise in foreign relationships
This is hurting the party and helping McCain
I do not think you will win, but should it happen I doubt I would vote for you. I would have to hold my nose too long
