Clinton airs TV spots in Ohio, Texas

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor February 22, 2008 07:30 PM

Hillary Clinton, badly needing to win both Texas and Ohio on March 4 to keep her presidential hopes alive, is launching new TV ads aimed squarely at voters in each state.

In the Texas ad, a narrator with a Lone Star twang seeks to hammer home Clinton's argument that she's about solutions and rival Barack Obama is about speeches.

"In Texas, when there's work to be done, talk doesn't cut it," the announcer says. "You've got to roll up your sleeves, stand your ground, and deliver."

Clinton has, he says, with healthcare for children and veterans and better schools and teachers.

"In Texas, it's better done than said," the announcer concludes. "And when it's all said and done, Hillary delivers."

In the Ohio ad, Clinton relies on her biggest-name endorsement, John Glenn, the popular former US senator and astronaut. He vouches for her, saying that they share middle-class backgrounds from the Midwest and that she will fight for working people.

"I'll be proud to call Hillary my president," Glenn says.

Polls show close races in both states.

  1. soft ads - will not work. negative ads will not work either. she is fighting someone who has her same values - but better looking, better speaker, and maybe even smarter. The republican attack machine will have fun with him but their candiate now looks even weaker - it appears that McCane may have more problems than realized but its too late to switch now !

Yes, she does! And what has given us so far? Let's see...

HILLARY CLINTON AS FIRST LADY / NY SENATOR:
Hillary Clinton often says that she should be President because of her experience, including 8 years as First Lady and 6 as NY Senator. This is her record for that period of time:

As First Lady, Hillary assumed authority over Health Care Reform, a process that cost the taxpayers over $13 million. She told both Bill Bradley and Patrick Moynihan, key votes needed to pass her legislation, that she would 'demonize' anyone who opposed it. But she couldn't even get it to a vote in a Congress controlled by her OWN PARTY at the time! (And in the next election, her party lost control of both the House and Senate, due in part to her nasty and divisive tactics.) Bill and Hillary Clinton failed miserably to rally others around their cause because they simply do not know how to bring Democrats and Republicans together! Lately, Hillary speaks of her "friend" John McCain, trying to compete with Barack on this issue, but those who know her history realize it's just "politics as usual"

Hillary recommended her former law partners, Web Hubbell, Vince Foster, and William Kennedy for positions in the Justice Department, White House staff, and the Treasury, respectively. Hubbell was later imprisoned, Foster committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign!

Hillary also recommended a close friend of the Clintons, Craig Livingstone, for the position of director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of up to 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (“FILEGATE”) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, both Hillary and her husband denied knowing him. FBI agent Dennis Sculimbrene confirmed in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in 1996, both the drug use and Hillary's involvement in hiring Livingstone. After that, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office, after serving 7 presidents for over thirty years.

In order to open “slots” in the White House for her friends the Thomasons (to whom millions of dollars in travel contracts could be awarded), Hillary had the entire staff of the White House Travel Office fired; they were reported to the FBI for 'gross mismanagement' and their reputations ruined. After a 30-month investigation, only one, Billy Dale, was charged with any crime whatsoever (mixing personal money with White House funds when he cashed checks). The jury acquitted him in less than 2 hours.

And then were the Bill Clinton "Bimbo Eruptions"... In the end, Bill lost his law license for lying to the grand jury. And hel was impeached by the House. AND HILLARY ALMOST GOT HERSELF INDICTED FOR PERJURY AND OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE (WHICH SHE AVOIDED MOSTLY BECAUSE SHE REPEATED, "I DO NOT RECALL," "I HAVE NO RECOLLECTION, AND "I DON'T KNOW" 56 TIMES UNDER OATH).

Then Hillary left the White House, but later had to return $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork she had STOLEN!!!

Hillary decided to run for the Senate in a state where she had never lived before simply because she thought it would be her best chance at winning.

In the campaign for the Senate, Hillary (as usual) played the 'woman card' by portraying her opponent (Lazio) as a bully who was picking on her.

As the junior Senator from New York, Hillary has passed NO MAJOR LEGISLATION! She has deferred to the senior Senator (Schumer) to tend to the needs of New Yorkers.

Hillary's one notable vote: SUPPORTING THE PLAN TO INVADE IRAQ, which she has since disavowed and twisted, but refuses to admit was a mistake. Barack Obama, however, is the only '08 Democratic Presidential Candidate who had the good judgment to oppose the war from day one!

  1. YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)

If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Who's husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Who’s husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Who’s husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Who’s husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary’s than they had ever been before or since.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

    You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..

    Best regards

  1. My fellow Americans,

The Obama media-amplified candidacy is a huge and most dangerous gamble. Sen. Obama has NO strength to handle the overwhelming challenges confronting us at this critical hour.

Three years ago, Sen. Obama was still a state law maker. We need somebody who is ready to go from the first day. Being President of the United States of America is the TOUGHEST JOB IN THE WORLD, I don’t think Americans can afford to sit around and wait for somebody to get experience. Sen. Obama: The on-the-job-training President. God forbid and far be it from the USA.

In 1960 our country elected untested John Kennedy president. He so under performed at his summit with Khrushchev as to convince the Soviet dictator placing Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba was not particularly risky. The result? The crisis which brought the planet closest to nuclear war.

Please, stay with me: Conservative "rebels" handed the elections to Jimmy who? Jimmy Carter, of course. What was the result? A Close and strategically important American ally called Iran became an American foe run by soon to be Terror Masters named the Islamic Republic of Iran.

So, yes, choices have overwhelming consequences and so will those made by Americans in this campaign.

Obama's wife had this to say “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”

Here comes a million dollar question: why is it that if Obama plagiarizes someone's speech and his wife makes reckless and unpatriotic remarks it seems to be okay, but if Bill Clinton makes sincere remarks the country and the media goes bitter?

I attribute neither my successes nor my failures on my ethnicity nor my ancestors’ ethnicity. Determination, intelligence, a willingness to learn and to work is what advanced American founders and is what will advance me.

Mrs. Obama's ancestors were not SOLD as slaves. Her ancestors had no monetary value to those who oppressed them - as ALL ethnicities /races in the world have at one time or another been oppressed. Her ancestors’ experience was far worse than being sold. Her ancestors were GIVEN AWAY as GIFTS. But rather than being bitter defeatists about that, the experience made them strong. And never use their experience to wallow in self-pity or to make decisions on a candidate’s qualifications.

That a candidate makes me “feel good” isn’t a sound reason / criteria. Proven skills, experience and leadership are.

When a candidate speaks rhetorically about “change,” I want to know SPECIFICS from that individual as to what KIND of change do they have in mind. Mrs. Obama’s careless, narcissistic and offensive comment is not the kind of language that I would expect from someone who is committed to helping “bring us all together.” I’ve had the invaluable experience of traveling extensively both nationally and internationally, preaching the Gospel all over the world, all of which has further enhanced my great love and appreciation for America and its opportunities and freedoms.

Overall and in comparison to others, it is the greatest and most generous in the world. To anyone who doubts that, I suggest they live in other countries for a while, and I would suggest that they also look at the evidence: the staggering numbers of people who are trying to get into America every single day to live, to work and/or to become citizens.

They’re not busting down the door to get here because they perceive America as an evil, violent, oppressive, failed, deeply flawed, festering dung hill populated by racist amplified by the Obama's and their disciples, compassionless, knuckle-dragging goons and bumpkins, now, are they? Hardly. They perceive it as a beacon of hope. America has a long history as beacon of hope.

It is important to note that hope did not suddenly appear with the candidacy of Senator Barak Obama, as some would suggest. And that hope has not diminished, as evidenced by those people who continue to arrive in our country. It is only diminished in the minds of some of the people who are already here and who take it for granted.

Everywhere that I’ve traveled in the world, I’ve always found that even those who disparage America would still like to come here if they had the opportunity. And Mrs. Obama, throughout my entire life I have ALWAYS been proud of my country, and I do not want you to represent it as its First Lady. And Mrs. Obama, I know you’re an educated, intelligent, proud black woman, but please call yourself to order.

I have been listening to the voices of countless Americans, without specific number as I have traveled this country, preaching the Gospel of Christ Jesus the King: I want to EMPHASIZE the urgency of the situation we find ourselves in:

We face an enemy that has repeatedly attacked us and remains committed to killing Americans and the destruction of our most cherished values. This election is about who is best prepared to lead and defend our nation and its international allies as Commander-in-Chief from day one. This election is about MAKING SURE we have the experienced leadership to guide us to victory in this war, protect the nation against future terrorist attacks, and support our troops and first responders who are on the frontlines of the war.

My fellow Americans, we ALL like Obama, BUT we have the United States of America to govern in a very difficult time of Islamic jihad, the economy, health care, housing crisis, Iraq, nuclear weapons and our image abroad; the OVERWHELMING challenges confronting us in the 21st century. The stakes in this election are so very high, and it will take a leader with Hillary Clinton's strength, will, resolve, determination and experience to tackle the challenges we face.

Not only is she the best qualified candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton will win in November, take back the White House, and deliver real tangible and VALID results for America and globally by creating a strong, secure, prosperous and globally respected America , AGAIN.

My fellow Citizens, NO candidate (republican/ democrat) approaches the power and promise of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Clinton has used all of her time in the Senate to establish herself successfully as a genuine and sincere political and economic powerhouse. Moreover, Clinton offers Americans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to break the world's most prominent glass ceiling and elect a female President of the United States of America . I will say this again for my fellow Americans: NO candidate (republican/ democrat) approaches the power and promise of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Clinton has used all of her time in the Senate to establish herself successfully as a genuine and sincere political and economic powerhouse. Moreover, Clinton offers Americans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to break the world's most prominent glass ceiling and elect a female President of the United States of America .

I got a clear question for my American Sisters: do you want to go down in history as American Women who vehemently prevented your fellow American woman (Hillary Rodham Clinton) from occupying the White House, for the first time?

I believe with all of me that Senator Clinton is showing ALL of the WOMEN in America that they can aspire to lead our great nation and be taken seriously. If Hillary should succeed, America and the world would be changed forever and for the better.

Fellow Americans, there will be a clear choice November 2008, and I strongly believe that Hillary Clinton's life has prepared her to lead our country, the country we love so very much in the transcendent challenge of the 21st century. God bless Hillary Clinton, OUR NEXT President for a secure, strong, prosperous and globally respected America . God Bless America .
