Hillary Clinton's hopes in Ohio appear well-placed, according to a new poll out today.
The SurveyUSA survey gives her a 56 percent to 39 percent lead over Barack Obama, thanks to a 3-2 lead among whites and strong support in the central and eastern parts of the Buckeye State.
Clinton has the backing of popular Governor Ted Strickland, and today picked up the endorsement of former US Senator John Glenn.
Ohio, with 141 delegates at stake, is the second biggest prize on March 4 behind Texas, where Clinton also hopes to stop Obama's momentum.
On the Republican side, John McCain led Mike Huckabee 50 percent to 36 percent in the poll, which was conducted on Sunday and Monday.

Excellent, to see a women president of America, keep pride of America up on the world
If Democrats want McCain in the White House, vote for Hilary.
Democratic women love Hilary. Republican and independent women and men
despise her.
Bush, Clinton, Bush and another Clinton? We need a change. A real change.
I BELIEVE In Hillary Clinton. I BELIEVE and TRUST Hillary Clinton as President.
When it comes down to it, who is the best to do the job ?
Hillary Clinton.
It's time for a CHANGE, and that change is the 1st female president.
I BELIEVE !
I'm sticking with Hillary because I trust her on the economy, health care, and national security.
Wait until Ohio gets to know Obama. He's the change our country needs. Hillary Clinton has the wrong experience. All she has experience doing is serving herself and doing what is best for Hillary Clinton. Look up her tenure in the senate and you will see that she has accomplished very little. Her vote for the Iraq war shows lack of foresight and leadership. We can do so much better with Obama!
Yuck!
According to the Survey:
Obama leads among men 47-48 but loses among
women 62% - 33%.
You believe in Hillary? The vindictive, divisive, deceptive, dishonest, bickering, manipulative, self-conceited, unehical, underhand, pandering candidate of no vision with lack of integrity?
I'm glad voters are choosing a candidate based on the real important issues, like where they keep their reproductive organs.
I live in Ohio. The SurveyUSA poll is based on a sample of @ 750 "likely voters" and the polling was done before Obama won the last 6 primaries and caucuses. Obama picks up momentum day by day. Don't think for a moment that this is definitive. We might live in the Midwest, but we're not oblivious to national trends. Hillary is desperate. Today she published a list of Ohio politicians who have allegedly endorsed her . . . and an hour later, two big-city mayors on the list denied that they gave her their nod. She will grasp at anything, even fake endorsements. Ohioans - REAL citizens, not union bosses or pols - will not be persuaded by her sleight of hand.
As a fellow Hillary put it:
"Obama is great at giving football rah rah speeches but he never talks about the issues like Hillary does.
Do we want a football coach for President or a do we want an 8 year Senator who has a lot of experience and good ideas?
Barrack promises change but continues to drag around Ted Kennedy and John Kerry"
Hillary will bring change, experience and hope to the White House!
She chooses to be an advocate for children, women, minorities, the poor and uninsured, gay rights, civil rights and our injured military men and women that have been neglected by our government! She is an excellent role model for all women and our daughters! I would be proud to call her 'Madam President!'
To my fellow Hillarys; DON’T EVER COUNT A CLINTON OUT!
Vote Hillary Clinton!

I have Democratics are smart like the Republicans. Let's be honest, Hillary has no chance of winning the general election, just look at any polls. Republican chose McCain, who has best best chance of winning over their fellow true conservatives. Democratic should do the same, vote Obama who has best chance of winning, The reason Obama is so good is because it is hard to vilify or label him just like what Republicans did to John Kerry and Hillary.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"We know that this campaign is not about gender -- it's about agenda. Hillary fights for macroeconomic issues but she also fights for the macaroni and cheese issues."
-- Senator Barbara Mikulski at the Maryland Women for Hillary rally in Annapolis-
Ditto! I think that this "Quote" from Senator Barbara Mikulski, describes our future President's character. She'll be a good Leader for our Nation. We need some one like Hillary who has not only charisma and intelligence but experience as well. Ohio voters please wake up! Vote HILLARY!
I think people just have to look past the rhetoric and listen to the actual plans these candidates laid out. Most of the plans Obama is releasing have already been said by Clinton months before hand. I think most people have to question why Obama won't debate. I know he is using the argument that he has already debated 18 times. Only in California was the debate between just him and Clinton. In at least 15 of those debates he was sharing the stage with at least 5 other candidates. How in depth of the issues can you get in a 2 hour period with that many people? Are we as a country voting on hope and change we want or are we voting on the person who can actually make the hopes and changes we want with the plans they laid out. I saw both of the candidates speak in person and as much as they are both really moving face to face it's really how they are going to make the changes that we need. As far as the comment goes about Independents and Republicans going towards Obama. My argument is that for Clinton to win her senate seat in NY in a very Republican upstate NY she had to carry Independents as well as Republican to get her the senate seat and bring her back a second time. I don't think we can say that independents and republicans wouldn't vote for her in a general election.

The idea that Hillary can some how unite a nation in which half the people HATE her and her spouse to their very core is laughable.
The emerging generation must join with the elder generation to take on the task of rebuilding the influence, economy and respect of the US around the world and that task begins with electing Barack Obama. The ONLY candidate that has proven he can reach across racial, economic, social and party lines and has truly built a coalition of Americans to guide us and our children into a new chapter of history.
Ohio: Make the choice that can truly change hearts and minds in America and around the world. Vote for Barack Obama.

"Wait until Ohio gets to know Obama. He's the change our country needs." Thr problem here is I been following the primaries and I still don't know anything about him other than he is a excellent orator. I also know that he has twisted the Clinton's comments to make them racists. Yes the country needs change after 8 years of Bush. What specific things will he change?
That's right, Ohio. Give us Hillary to run against McCain and we'll have another Republican disaster, just like Ohio allowed it's votes in 2004 to be stolen for George W. Bush. Way to go!
This is not a real poll, we wait for Zogby and the real outfits, I can not see billary at 56 % even if all her friends wish it to be.
She is a washed out old politician that has nothing to offer, this race is about a prez not a first lady where she has experience.
I can not believe how ugly her child is.yet her and her husband are fairly good looking.
Hillary, Bad on Civil Rights. Obama voted to strip the FISA bill of immunity for the telecoms, Hillary skipped the vote even though she was in the DC area. Do you think it had anything to do with the CEO of Verizon and his wife both contributing the maximum allowable donation to her campaign?
It's ironic that one of Clinton's calling cards is that she'll be a good manager of the economy. The Glass-Steagall Act -- which regulated the banking industry and was one of the hallmarks of the New Deal -- was repealed by the Clintons in the first administration. You can trace the current mortgage crisis to this move.
Barack Obama was working in the poor communities in Chicago, organizing and getting jobs for the unemployed while Hillary Clinton counts as "experience" her years simply being the SPOUSE of a governor and the SPOUSE of a president. And while we're talking about accomplishments, what exactly did the Clinton years accomplish??? NAFTA, a horribly divided country with no hope of coming to gether on important issues, NO ENERGY POLICY, and a disastrous military mission in Somalia, a completely FAILED health care policy. That was a non starter from the get go, and yes, you need to be able to convince people with inspiring speeches to bring the country together or we'll be hopelessly deadlocked for the NEXT four years. And frankly, we can't afford that. Go OBAMA!
Hillary threw women, children, and her middle-class "friends" under the bus with her support of the bankruptcy bill. Hillary does what is politically best for Hillary; her record of "experience" proves this fact. Go Barrack go!!!
Why do people in manufacturing states like Michigan, Ohio and PA, who have lost their good paying jobs, seeing their wages erode and standard of living heading to third world levels possibly consider supporting her. How can we accept a lie saying international trade agreements like GATT and NAFTA will help the US when it only bleeds the people it was promised to help and then vote for Hillary “I’ll say anything to get your vote” Clinton again? We DO need someone new. I can only hope future legislation can promote both a healthy corporate environment and an increase in the citizens’ standard of living, not one at the great expense of the other. ... and I don't see Hillary as the solutions provider here at all.
Enough with Bil[hilarism in America. Her experience has nothing to do
with America. She is concerned about making a name at the expense of gullible
women who think that she's their saviour. Make no mistake, ladies, Hillary is on the loose to destroy women's hope.
I think she is not the kind of candidate I would like to have as my president.
Go for Mccain. Hillary has shown again and again she uses women and tears to
demagogize the masses to fall into her prey. Think wise American people.
It is important to note that "All interviews [for this poll] were completed before results of Virginia, District of Columbia and Maryland primaries were known."
I'm a former Hillary supporter who has switched to Obama and am now enthusiastic about supporting him. WHY SWITCH? If you support Clinton, I assume you (like me) support the idea of a radical change in this country's policies, both at home and abroad.
It comes down to two points:
1. Who is electable? Independents will determine the election in November. Every poll (and common sense) says they will support McCain over Clinton. Nothing will mobilize the Republican base like a Hillary candidacy.
2. Who can govern best? Who can unite the partie in Washington? Who can mobilize and inspire the country to get behind the needed changes? Do I even need to give my answer to that? OBAMA. No doubt. And, I also have no doubt that both Clinton and Obama would draw from the same pool of people for cabinet positions.
OBAMA 2008!
obama I think is best for america. it is obvious from his presentation that he is a man of integrity, peace and prosperity for the whole world.
