Clinton's lead narrowing in Pennsylvania

Hillary Clinton leads Barack Obama in what could be the make-or-break state of Pennsylvania, but her edge is narrowing.

Clinton has a 44 percent to 32 percent lead, but that is down from a 20-percentage-point lead in January, according to the Franklin & Marshall College poll released today.

The poll also suggests that the race could change significantly before the April 22 primary because 20 percent of voters are undecided and 37 percent of those who expressed a preference said they are still making up their minds.

The survey was conducted Feb. 13 to 18 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.6 percentage points among registered voters.

Pennsylvania's importance depends on whether Clinton can win in Ohio and Texas on March 4. But it will be a battleground as usual in the general election. The new poll shows a dead-even race between likely Republican nominee John McCain and either Clinton or Obama.

  1. Clinton's lead will diminish as time goes on because more and more voters realize that a vote for Hillary is a vote for Bill. And what right thinking person wants Bill Clinton back in the White House?

  1. I have been a life long Repulican. I'm 61 years old, and Vietnam Veteran
with 80% disablity. I changed my registration to Democrat just to vote for
Hillary. A vote is not for Bill, but for America. And what right thinking person
forgets the good old days of Bill Clinton. The Dollar at 1.30 to the Eruo. Low unemployment. A surplus. Not at war with anyone. No one lying to the American people to justify a war. And we can not stand 4 more years with a repubican
in the White House. Obama will not be able to beat McCain, but Hillary can.
