Obama accepts Texas debate

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor February 11, 2008 04:23 PM

It appears that there will be one-on-one Democratic debates in both of the big states voting on March 4.

Barack Obama's campaign announced this afternoon that he has accepted an invitation for a forum sponsored by CNN, Univision, and the Texas Democratic Party on Feb. 21 in Austin.

“We’re pleased that Senator Obama will have the opportunity to debate in Texas and that it will air on Univision, ensuring a wide and diverse audience,” said Obama Texas State Director Adrian Saenz.

Obama and Hillary Clinton had already agreed to debate on Feb. 26 in Cleveland on NBC. That one would be the 20th of the Democratic campaign.

  1. Hillary Knows once people meet Obama they will be hooked, so she is trying to keep him tied up in debates instead of out meeting the people in person.

I'm sorry to hear he has accepted any invitations to debate, but Obama, please keep it to a minimum. The people need your time to know better the next president of the United States.

  1. By all means, make Obama debate so that the American public can see that he is all smoke and mirrors. He's great at the grand speeches and very mediocre when it comes to answering questions. Hmm, could it be there's no substance to the wonder boy?

  1. Great! Serveral newspaper journalist have stated that the reason Obama wanted to limit the debates is because of Hillary's intelligence advantage and his lack of knowledge and campaign promises that he gives vague answers about funding, implementation etc. His campaign ads here in OHIO are promising he is going to change Washington! When pigs fly! What makes him think he can do it?
What is his stradegy? Nothing but talk, talk, talk. Let's get down to real basics and tell how you plan to do this when no one else has been able to do this before ? Let the voice of experience speak, Hillary knows what she is doing and has been around Washington while MR O -B -O -M - A was going to Muslim school in Africa. I'll bet that's why he does place his hand over his heart for the pledge of alligance .It's because his heart is not in it!

  1. When a woman can scare a man just by talking then that little puppy needs to get back home to his mama. Sure Barack is scared of debates, he's been running out of speeches to steal. He's offerring "CHANGE"??? Here's 50 cents, get yourself a cup of coffee, you bum!

  1. @ Marcia:

Way to rehash half-baked conspiracy theories that mainstream media has debunked months ago.

    ----

I find it ironic that the biggest critique of Obama is his mastery of rhetoric and public oration for the following reasons:
    1) There's not a lot of substance to the canned talking point from the Clinton camp that Obama is all talk. Come up with something that is original and has some substance.
    2) The man inspires people--mostly through his speeches. He is the first politician of my lifetime that not only inspires optimism--and, dare i say, hope--but is so spot on and powerful that people who have never shown an interest in politics before are motivated to take action.

  1. GO OBAMA! If she has all this tremendous experience then why hasn't she done more for this country? i.e. she started the health care issue and once paid off by the pharm-companys suddenly the ball is dropped?? the correspondence-documents between her and her hubby Billy when in the white house Bill dirty boy Clinton has ordered not to be released until 2012 again...what are they hiding?? he lied about Monica UNDER OATH so once a liar always a liar. You would think if her experience was as great as she is trying to sell us on then that info would be quite the proof & trump card to put quite a halt on Obama's campaign.????? NO MORE BUSH OR CLINTON LEGACY.....We give them plenty of our hard earned money (taxes), it isn't be allocated properly, noone is being held accountable.
SPENDING IS OUT OF CONTROL. THIS EXPERIENCE AND PREDICAMENT WE ARE IN IS FROM "EXPERIENCED" POLITICIANS - IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL GOERS and WHAT A MESS FINANCIALLY, MORALLY, ETC OUR BELOVED COUNTRY IS IN. GOD PLEASE HELP OBAMA IN GUIDING IT BACK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

  1. Obama’s efforts to connect to the Republican Party, specifically Bush, and Dick Chaney, of the Halliburton Company, dates back to the Presidents Grandfather, Prescott Bush, and indeed Chaney was once an executive officer of Halliburton.

The American military pounds Iraq with Artillary, bombs, and the like, destroying large sections of cities, and infra-structures, then Halliburton comes in to rebuild. Halliburton and Halliburton associated companies have raked in ten’s of billions.

Obama is just like the BIG HALIBURTAN. Haliburton has contracted to build detention centers in the U.S. similiar to the one in Quantanammo Bay, Cuba. Halliburton does nothing to earn the Two Dollars for each meal an American Serviceman in Iraq eats.

    http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/

Halliburton was scheduled to take control of the Dubai Ports in The United Arab Emiirate. The deal was canceled when Bush was unable to affect the transfer of the American Ports.

Now we see what some might suspect as similiar financial escapading from the Democrats.

Two years ago, Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity gave a $50 million contract to a start-up security company - Companion- owned by now-indicted businessman (TONY REZKO) Tony Rezko and a onetime Chicago cop, Daniel T. Frawley, to train Iraqi power-plant guards in the United States. An Iraqi leadership change left the deal in limbo. Now the company, Companion Security, is working to revive its contract.
Involved along with Antoin “Tony” Rezco, long time friend and neighbor of Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, and former cop Daniel T. Frawley, is Aiham Alsammarae. Alsammarae was accused of financial corruption by Iraqi authorities and jailed in Iraq last year before escaping and returning here.

    LIKE FATHER LIKE SON --
Recently, Obama's campaign staff have been vetted by the IRS to disclose his connection to the criminal money generating underworld. Besides, his connections to the REZCO MAFIA types, his up-coming tax fraud charges — Obama needs to disclose why he is a MUSLIM "PATWANG-FWEEE" and disclose Obama's MUSLIM Farrakhan mob connection to Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. Its minister, and Obama's spiritual adviser, is the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. In 1982, the church launched Trumpet Newsmagazine; Wright's daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. Every year, the magazine makes awards in various categories. Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said "truly epitomized greatness." That man is Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan and Chicago's Trinity United Church are trumpeting Barack Obama AKA Barack Hussein Obama as the second coming of the messiah. Obama should stop suppoting our intervention in IRAQ. It’s time to introduce this false, fake Xerox - X box Obama and invite the self-indicting thief plagiarizing pipsqueke "GLORK" Xerox - X box to meet the Buffalo "GAZOWNT-GAZIKKA" Police Department Buffalo Creek. He is MAD!!! --

    OBAM YOU'RE NO JFK --
"GLORK" Obama looks like Alfred E. Newman: "Tales Calculated To Drive You." He is a MUSLIM "Glork" He's MAD!!! Alfred E. Neuman is the fictional mascot of Mad. The face had drifted through American pictography for decades before being claimed by Mad editor Harvey Kurtzman after he spotted it on the bulletin board in the office of Ballantine Books editor Bernard Shir-Cliff, later a contributor to various magazines created by Kurtzman.
Obama needs to disclose why he is a MUSLIM "PATWANG-FWEEE" and stop suppoting our intervention in IRAQ.
