Obama crushed Clinton in Wisconsin ad battle
Barack Obama's message of hope and change is moving voters and getting them to the polls.
A new study out today also shows that he's spending far more to get that message out.
Before Tuesday's Wisconsin primary, which he handily won, he spent five times more than Hillary Clinton on TV ads and started airing them six days before she did, according to the University of Wisconsin Advertising Project.
Obama more than doubled the spending of all the other candidates in both parties combined and aired nearly three-fourths of all the ads, the project said. The senator from Illinois forked over more than $1.5 million to air nearly 6,000 spots, while Clinton spent about $300,000. Republicans John McCain and Mike Huckabee spent about $180,000 and $150,000, respectively.
On the Democratic side, the TV ad campaign in Wisconsin included the first exchange of real negative ads, started by Clinton when she criticized Obama for declining to debate in the state before the primary.
"Advertising can tell us much about the state of a campaign," Ken Goldstein, a political science professor and the director of the University of Wisconsin Advertising Project, said in a statement. "The fact that Clinton was outspent so significantly speaks to the financial situation she faces.
"Her late entry and the inconsistency in the messages conveyed through advertising and in her speeches speaks to some confusion among Clinton strategists," Goldstein added. "Clinton needed to define Obama and for first time we saw significant negative advertising. Half of Clinton’s ads were contrast and they were largely attacks on Obama. That said, most observers believe that for Clinton to have a chance, she needs to disqualify Obama on the experience issue. Going after Obama for not debating or not being liberal enough on health care reform simply did not resonate with Wisconsin voters."

Now is the time we women get behind Hillary , she is the strongest, she has the expierence, and she had proven again and again she is a real leader, she has accomplish so much, Dont be brain wash, by oprah?
Is very truth behind a great men is a women, Lets Go all you ladies lets show
the women power, dont give up our time is now .
Time for a woman President.
lets go Hillary and all you there. Lets Elect a women we can do it.
This is the first time in my life that I have ever been impressed with a candidate. I am very impressed with Hillary. When she speaks she actually says something instead of repeating the same things over again and not really saying anything. She has great ideas, she cares about America and wants to improve so many things. . If America would just listen to her, they would know that she would be the best person for president. This country is a mess and like I heard her say once, "she wants to clean it up" I believe she can do just that.
Hillary Clinton should give up, she can't stop Obama's momentum. She was hoping to get an edge on Obama during the debate with her "xerox" line, but it flopped, people booed her, and it made her sound bitter and mean. The only emotions she showed was frustration, desperation, and bitterness. Neither Hillary Clinton nor her husband realize that Barack Obama's appeal transcends race and class. Give Hillary up your time is up, America doesn't want another Clinton in the White House.
This isn't a mystery...
Barack Obama is 11-0!!! America wants change! And we don't trust the Clintons to deliver. Hillary Clinton is one of the most negative, divisive, polarizing politicians in America.
Clinton sold her campaign to the highest bidders - not to the American people - and she will have to pay the price for that. Now, when she really needs it, the American people don't want to fund the Clinton Smear Machine.
So a 527 Group steps in to do it! No big surprise here! And the Clintons wonder why everyone hates them more and more each day!
The Clintons are desperate and playing dirty, which only proves how crooked and pathetic they are!!! Their frighteningly cold, aloof, condescending posturing toward the "less experienced" Barack Obama smacks of HYPOCRISY!
In 1992, when Bill Clinton was running against Bush Sr. (who had the Washington-insider experience at the time), BILL CLINTON HIMSELF DECLARED, “The same old experience is not relevant.” Bill Clinton added that the most useful training comes NOT from hanging around the White House and Congress but rather from experience “rooted in the real lives of real people” so that “it will bring real results if we have the COURAGE TO CHANGE.”
So change was good then, but not now? Interesting.
The MSNBC Hillary Clinton "documentary" features one of Hillary's closest friends saying (with pride), almost word for word: "Hillary learned (in Arkansas) how to win elections. Go negative and attack your opponent in a personal way!"
I guess in "Billaryland," you stick with what you know. Except that American politics is changing, and the Clintons are left looking like they didn't get the memo.
"Solutions not speeches"..." Good works, not good words"... "Time to get real"... We're not buying it!
Billary, please show us something that you never have before - dignity and grace - get out now before you tear apart the party or saddle us with a 3rd Bush term (McCain)! Do the right thing. Step aside and rally the party!
The numbers presented here don't tell the whole story.
While Obama spent his resources on getting his message out, Hillary spent her resources on over priced advisors and expensive food items.
Which of these candidate do you think is more effective and getting things done? I think it is Obama!
