Ron Paul continued bringing in campaign cash last month at a level far in excess of how he's faring in Republican nomination contests.
His campaign reported tonight that he raised another $4.4 million during January, raising his total to nearly $33 million -- far more than better-known contenders.
He told the Federal Election Commission that he spent another $6.4 million last month, bringing that total to nearly $27 million.
Paul, a Texas congressman, is staying in the race though he only has a handful of delegates and front-runner John McCain is fast closing on the 1,191 needed to clinch the nomination.

He's a REPUBLICAN. Your page heading said "Political Intelligence"???
And so the R3volution continues...
Ron Paul is not a libertarian - he is a REPUBLICAN candidate running for the highest office of this land - and he is the highest caliber candidate to do so. Before jumping on the bandwagon, learn more about the issues at ronpaul2008.com
Paul has a lot more delegates that the media claims.
Some are causing voter fraud by reporting that he's dropped out.
In New York City, Ron Paul’s name was crossed out on the ballot even though polling places were NOT officially instructed to do so. I believe it costs about $25,000 to have your name on the ballot. Some voters were told they could not vote for Ron Paul because he had dropped out. Worse yet, some were told they could not vote for a Republican because the machines weren’t set up for that!
I say that NY ought to refund Dr. Paul’s ballot access fee.
And if you find any other media, whether it be television, radio, or newspapers, that have done something like the Daily Evergreen has promoting false reports that Dr. Paul has dropped out, please drop them a line.
It’s also hoped that Dr. Paul’s campaign will file a complaint about this with the FEC.
Look at this example.

write in "Ron Paul-president" in November. It's not over no matter what the MSM says, (or doesn;t say). I'm a republican and I will NEVER vote for McCain.
Apparently the reason for this discrpency is a footnote, and the Boston Political Intelligence does not think enough of this to warrant further commentary or comment. I think it speaks volumes about many subjects. I'm not going to preach to the choir, but perhaps the Boston Globe is not reaching it's readership in the same way the Internet is doing. It's stories like this which is killing tradditional media and turning people to the Internet in droves. Instead of tradditional media capitalizing on their knowledge and history of reporting, the job is now being left to non-reporters with no experience... and they are doing a better job of it!
MSM (main stream media) has nominated your next president.
The economy is tanking. Here comes amnesty and hard times.
I would love to reach across the isle.
You people bought into all the cliché's and the status quo these phony players had to offer.
Prisonplanet.com
It wouldn't be a day if I didn't put some sort of "gee look at that" post about my favorite candidate.
If you look at Washington State a bit different then CNN is posting it, using their information:
Romney - 3 Counties - 7.6%
Huckabee - 12 counties - 30.7%
McCain - 12 counties - 30.7%
Paul - 11 counties - 28.2%
Unknown - 1 county - 0% counted or reported via CNN.com
These results are from the caucus a couple of weeks ago where the RNC chairman waited till McCain edged Huckabee to call the stop to counting at 87% counted. Now why does one county still not have any numbers? Could it be that that counties' results makes McCain the loser behind both Huckabee and Paul?? BTW: the Caucus was for delegates as well as the vote last night.
On another note: Why do we not see any numbers from the Jan Caucus for Hawaii? Only a date for the Convention... could it be someone won that the press refuses to say his name??
Via la Revolution! Ron Paul has gotten second in a few states, but my goodness we would not want to mention that point since he lost to Romney that has dropped out.
Sincerely,
Wondering in SC
PS. Go ahead and pick on me, I got my Teflon suit on...
Obviously Steve Smith (first post) is a Democrat. (That's the strongest insult I could think of). Ron Paul is probably the best for this country. My vote goes to him.
Pure and simple, Ron Paul would end Israel's war in Iraq fought with American blood and money. McCain is sworn to a 100 year occupation in Iraq. The NECONs are champing at the bit for an excuse to nuke Iran. What is McCain's theme song... "bomb, bomb Iran". The whole war in the middle east is about exterminating muslims and destroying muslim nations. The invasion of Iraq was the unprovoked invasion of a foreign nation, by definition in international law that is a WAR CRIME! The Zionist Israel First media will not permit this agenda being side tracked. GOD did not create Israel! The United Nations did.
the money can go to a 3rd party formation after the election
It is a sad day in America when a man as good as Ron Paul cannot get his message heard due to the military-industrial controlled media blackout. This is a sad day indeed. His message resonates with so many because it is a message of freedom that our founding fathers fought hard to win. We are letting it slip through our fingers, perhaps forever.
In NH they did the ol' vote dumping trick in small towns (one clerk in the town of sutton was caught red-handed, but it was just a "clerical mistake" so she was forgiven, and why should any of those people who didn't have their votes counted be upset? no big deal right?), add to that the fact that the larger towns used the ol' Liebold voting machines (whose memory cards mysteriously disappeared just after the election even though federal law requires them to be retained for a certain amount of time) and then consider the fact that the majority of NH voters are supposedly dead-set against the military occupation of Iraq (I don't know anyone who's for it), and the winners were: John "100 years in Iraq" McCain and Hillary "I'm smart but was fooled by the biggest fool to ever occupy the oval office so I voted for the war and have done nothing to stop it in the last 6 years" Clinton... is it me or does something stink here? (hang on, let me get my tin foil out...)
With the way the mainstream media has treated candidates who are not part of their financial agenda, I am surprised he has done so well. I think people need to realize that all the other candidates as well as the heads of all the mainstream media are members of The Counsel on Foreign Relations. If you don't know that that is, you should. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_on_Foreign_Relations
These elections have been rigged from the beginning. These people need to be exposed and we need to take this country back!

I think a lot of folks have underestimated the acumen with which Dr. Paul has played the game to win the election. He’s rightfully given his grass roots the estimation they deserve, knowing that they are the key to success. He knows that his supporters are sold on the ideas he’s espoused, and their numbers will only grow. This phenomenon really has the GOP over a barrell, because they know that without R.P.supporters, they have no prayer of winning. The most they can hope for is being held up to ridicule if they run anybody else. Let’s look at this, shall we?
Yellow dog GOPers-20-30%(MC+ Huck split) -R. P. supporters- 10-30%= 35-50% of the electorate( no way to determine exactly, due to election rigging)
Then you’ve got your 3rd party block which could only go to 1. Ron Paul, 2. independent candidates, or 3. a democrat (definitely not for GOP candidate other than R.P.)=20-30% of the electorate
And finally you’ve got the democratic side of the equasion, where you’ve got
Yellow dog dems-20% , anti war dem voters- 10-20%= 35-40% of the electorate Now when you look at these numbers and move them around you see that the most significant variable is the candidacy of Ron Paul(or lack thereof).
should the GOP not pick Dr. Paul, let’s look at what happens. they’re left without R.P. supporters,95% of whom will jump ship for a third party candidate( or less likely, a dem.) you may also have some conservatives, realizing their plight , jumping ship for a constitution or libertarian candidate. This leaves them with, best case scenario-20-30% of the electorate, a joke of a candidacy by any estimation. Result- dissolution of the GOP due to this and continuing disrepute due to GWB admin.
Now look at what happens if they DO pick the right candidate(Ron Paul). They get the yellow dog GOP vote(chance 1-5% of left wing will jump ship for communist party after their conversion of GOP threatened)-19-26% of the electorate, then you’ve got the Ron Paul grass roots, amounting, by election time to in the area of 35-40% of the electorate, but even if you use the current estimates of 10-30% of the electorate. Then you’ve got the estimated 20-30% of indy voters at least 80% of which will get behind R.P. as a Peace candidate, which gives you another18-30% of the electorate. and finally, you’ve got the disenchanted democratic voters who will bound overboard to vote for a bona fide anti war candidate. I estimate the number of dems disgusted after the ‘06 election to be 25-40%, equaling out to 10-15% of the electorate.
So let’s look at the totals, and please; if I’m way off base here, show me where my miscalculations are. Now ,we have
19-26%-yellow dogs
10-40%- Ron Paul grass roots
18-30%-independents
10-15%- anti-war democrats
———
57-100% total support for the GOP candidate. Of course the Best case scenario would,in actuality not be 100%.This is a total of best cases, but the total could be very high. The worst case scenario couldn’t be much lower than 57%.
So let’s compare the GOP’s choices in ‘08
McCain or Huckabee-20-30% of electorate
Ron Paul-57-100% of the electorate
Now you can bet the GOP has already crunched these numbers, and you can bet on frequent underwear changes.
The democrats are not guaranteed to win either if the GOP runs a dead dog against them. we can crunch the numbers there as well. the two possible scenarios are that a strong third party candidate will emerge or that they won’t.
First you’ve got the yellow doggers15-20% of the electorate, then you’ve got irate dems who are still livid after ‘06 betrayal. Probably 30% of these will hold their noses and vote dem. amounting to another 5-7% of the electorate. Then you’ve got uninformed Indy’s who’ll vote dem. in order to ensure GOP failure. I figure another 3-7% of the electorate. this will depend on the viability of the third party candidate, and finally you’ve got Ron Paul supporters and GOPers(Coulter, et al) who’ll hold their noses and vote dem. This should be another 3-7% of the electorate .
On the other side of the equasion you’ve got a strong third party candidate or a number of write in campaigns, in any event you’ve got 1. A majority of Ron Paul grass roots who will never vote dem. You’re looking at between15 and 30% of the electorate. Then you’ve got 2. the majority of the indy voters who will reject the 4 more years of business as usual that both the GOP and the dems represent. I figure between15 and25% of the electorate. Then you’ve got 3. a huge group of dems who have vowed not to be betrayed again by the dem. party and will gladly jump ship in support of a strong anti war, constitutionalist platform. you can estimate between10 and 20% of the electorate.
So, lets read ‘em and weep.
vote % based on no third party threat:
15-20%- yellow dog dems
5-7% -gagging irate dem
3-7%- uninformed indys.
3-7%- R.P. and Coulterite voters
——–
26-41% of the electorate, total. Not particularly appetizing, best case they may win.
on the other hand we have voting third party:
15-30%- resolute R3volutionaries
15-25%- Independents rejecting current state of affairs
10-20%- democrats delighted to stick it to their betrayers
———–
35-75% total third party voters. Best case would not likely approach 75%, but even worst case makes it a close race with the others’ best case.
So the Democratic party doesn’t have an easy row to hoe either. I recommend buying stock in Fruit of the Loom or Hanes.
Of course the NWO can game the election, but they’d have to work every angle in both parties to reasonably expect public acceptance of the results. I predict that they’ll retrench and let the people speak for now, too many of us are paying attention. They can always pull a JFK at their leisure after some of us have gone back to sleep. I’m open to other interpretations. Thank You.
As for John McCain, he is suddenly sputtering in his ambition to motor to the prize of the Republican presidential nominee, McCain was, tonight, romantically linked to a very attractive 40-year-old female political lobbyist and accused of granting HER clients, Telecom giants, political favours through committees that Senator McCain has chaired. Vicki Iseman, the lobbyist, also may have helped to write key telecom legislation. The most damaging allegations contained in the article centre on Mr McCain's reported conflicts of interests in the areas of political funding and lobbying.
the media does this because if a man like Ron Paul was in office, which he should be by all means, they would loose so much money they would make a new hit made for T.V. movie about that crap. all the money would go to the poor, and rich people dont like that at all.
This is the Man the Universe needs in place as we enter into a new renissaunce
by the year 2012 wake up and open your eyes a new day is upon us !!!
The article says Ron Paul spent $6.4 million last month. Is he spending that in his run for Congress? I’ll bet’cha that’s where it’s all going.
I’d like to know what he spent it for. Nobody has seen any radio or TV ads for Ron Paul. All the ads are from the rEVOLution people with their signs, airplane ads, NASCAR, Granny Warriors, stuff like that.
Would somebody please note any radio or TV ads they have heard at all?
Right on! The same kind of thing happened in New Hampshire. Townships were coming up with 0 votes for Ron Paul...0 votes not 0%. When several different people called and said that they had voted for Dr. Paul in that Township they went back and found 31 or so Paul votes...In that Township... It seems to me that no matter how you slice it, we have massive amounts of evidence of vote fraud and I think we all need to do the American thing and speak out against this and demand answers.
Paul has a lot more delegates that the media claims.

With so much support from the military and veterans, and the fact that the only bumper stickers i see, the only yard signs, the only blimp, the air corps, it is apparent that the whole game is rigged. The media hush Ron Paul...at the NH debates, he got 6 minutes out of the 2 hour "debate". He is the only candidate that actually wants to tighten border security, get the dollar back to where it's worth something, and get out of fighting wars that benefit no one but profiteers.
The system is corrupt broken.
The media has decided that Obama will be the next president and because Americans have become so STUPID, he will be. God help us all.
Thanks for writing about the Ron Paul movement, however he is as am I a Republican. I am confident that America will regain its mind. It is very queer to see so many people swooning over Obama. He is all Show and no go. His published plan spends and taxes more and will be the final straw to break this country. McCain is equally as bad. He will driven by the same companies and elite interests, however he will kill a lot more people (ours overseas and other not taliban or NOT ELQeda) in his efforts to (keep us safe). I hate Air traveling now and all the Europeans hate coming here because the TSA is fighting the problems using SS tactics and low brain power solutions. It is slowing killing the Airline industry to use a phase "the death of a thousand cuts".
I got mad in a conversation on the phone yesterday and suggested that a states delegates shoot a candidate and it occurred to me that SOMEBODY IS LISTENING TO EVERYTHING I JUST said, Holy crap will they show up and shoot me and then ask questions!!!!
American must wake up. We are 12 Trillion in the Hole (using all the unpublished numbers it is this high) and have 53 Trillion in unfunded liabilities. It gets worst!
Our Bond Market is teetering on the edge of collapse and all the credit markets will cave-in if this important market goes in to BK and it is a hair away. This will mean NO JOBS, JOB CUTS, Business failures and massive CIty and state losses of income. Great and I thought the gas crisis was bad. Yeah I am old enough to remember Carter and his 17 percent interest rate world.
It is time to Break the Spell cast by the MSM because it is not in our or our children best interest! Tell everyone that will listen or and wear those blue buttons and bumpers. MOVE there is plenty of minds to change!!
Because the media has lied and misrepresented Ron Paul, the media is about to change forever. It's time to break the matrix:
http://www.breakthematrix.com/
1. Take a look at Ron Paul's top three campaign-donor employers: The US Military.
I think that speaks volumes of Ron Paul's ideas of foreign policy, and the corresponding perspective of those who EXPERIENCE the implementation of America's foreign policy.
2. Even if reports indicated that Juan McCain did get 1191 delegates, those delegates are NOT bound by any law to vote for him. We can only hope they discover the despicable truth about McCain before casting a vote for him at the convention.
@Steve Smith:
Yes, Paul is a Republican. Did you know that he's the only candidate who voted against the PATRIOT act, against renewal of the PATRIOT act, against giving Bush the power to go into Iraq, and against funding for the war in Iraq.
Clinton, Edwards, and McCain voted FOR all of the above. Obama voted FOR renewing the PATRIOT act, and funding Iraq. He was not in the Senate on the other votes.
How is Paul not Politically Intelligent?
RON PAUL IS TRUTH, AS SIMPLE AS THAT. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT SEE THIS FACT IS LACKING SOME 'RESEARCHING SKILLS'.
Now that McStain has been outed as just another corrupt Washington insider, it's time for Dr. Paul to stake his claim. In the event of a brokered convention, the delegates can choose whomever they want. Dr. Ron Paul is the most honorable, the most consistent, and the most conservative. He should be allowed to carry the republican banner.
We won't be going out of business anytime soon.
Keep it up y'all!
Spread the McCain scandal story as much as possible. That is Ron Paul's best chance at getting back in the race, if there ever really was a race to begin with.
Also, make sure that each of you goes to Washington D.C. for the Ron Paul rally!!
There will come a day when the CNNs, the Boston Globes and the Clear Channels become obsolete. When the internet reigns as the medium of masses, tyranny will be overthrown again.
The Revolution can not be contained. The Genie is out of the bottle. Deride him all you want, but Dr Paul has already won.
@ Kathy
I live in Austin Texas where we are seing alot of Ron Paul commercials. One night at the bar (yeah sue me) I saw the same Ron Paul commercial over several hours. That was last week.
@ Cathy -
Campaign finance laws prohibit a presidential candidate from using funds donated to a presidential campaign for another campaign (like for congress) UNLESS that candidate withdraws from the presidential race.
Obviously, Dr. Paul has not withdrawn, and instead he has separately raised almost $1 million for his congressional race.
My primary is not for a few months, so I have not seen any ads myself, but my understanding is that the money is being used to selectively target the states with upcoming primaries, not for large national ads.
Watched part otf the Hillary/Obama debate tonight. Hurray! Dr. Paul wins again. The issues that only Dr. Paul brought up and was mocked for, are now issues Dems and other canidates are talking about. Couldn't call McInsane or Huckster Republicians now could I.
I hate to grace this little tabloid with any comment, however, it is time for all citizens, who care at all that they have been manipulated by the mainstream media, to write or call their congressional representatives and demand the reinstatement of the "Equal Time Rule" and "Fairness Doctrine" for all media: TV, radio, and print. This is the only way the citizens will be allowed to make up their own minds, instead of having the corporate owned media make their decisions for them. This whole election primary has become a completely contrived charade and I am amazed how few are even aware that this is happening. Its bad enough to be government dependent but being content to live in "freedumb" is unforgiveable! A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for real freedom.
