Paul says he's still in the race
At every opportunity, Mike Huckabee says that he won't drop out of the Republican presidential race until someone reaches the magic 1,191 delegates needed to clinch the nomination and as long as his supporters are behind him.
Now, Ron Paul is saying he won't pull out either, arguing that front-runner John McCain's losses to Huckabee in Kansas and Louisiana over the weekend, and the tight three-way contest in Washington state, demonstrate that Republicans are not sold on McCain.
"As the results of this weekend have made clear, many Republican voters are not satisfied with our party’s likely candidate for president, John McCain," Paul, a congressman from Texas who has become an Internet fund-raising sensation, said in a statement issued by his campaign this morning.
Huckabee is challenging the results in the Washington caucuses, where according to updated results with 96 percent of precincts counted, McCain received 25.6 percent to Huckabee's 23.3 percent, and Paul's 21 percent. Mitt Romney, who dropped out of the race on Thursday, got 15 percent, according to the latest numbers from the GOP.
"This is why my run for the Republican nomination will not end," the statement continued. "The principles I stand for -- limited government, non-interventionism, respect for individual rights, and strict adherence to the Constitution -- have a long and proud tradition in the Republican Party. As long as my supporters continue to support my campaign, I will not leave Republicans who have yet to vote without the ability to choose a candidate who holds these fundamental Republican values.”
UPDATE: Even as the campaign sent out the release, however, Paul spokesman Jesse Benton acknowledged to NBC that Paul is focusing in the near term on keeping his congressional seat, though he still wants enough delegates to get a prominent speaking slot at the GOP convention in September.
Paul will be on the ballot on March 4 both as a presidential candidate and in his district for re-election to his US House seat.
Today, McCain is seeking to reassert control over the race by sweeping contests in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

McCain is indeed SUICIDE for the Republican Party. He may have a small chance at election versus Hillary because of their virtually identical platforms and voting records, but he's toast against Obama, who at least pretends that he'll end the war and bring home the troops.
Ultimately though, nobody but Ron Paul is offering a TRUE policy change. Obama says he wants to end THIS war but has mentioned nothing about bringing a single soldier home from any of our 750 overseas bases in 130 countries. So, in other words, he too offers more of the same.

His more "radical" ideas are smart approaches from a man who is educated in what he is advocating, but if you think real change is scary, don't worry, he even admits some things would take a while. Ron Paul deserves as much consideration as McCain. Please, America, do your homework and pass this test!

Ron Paul has to keep running. People need a choice besides the 2 liberal Democrats and the 2 liberal Republicans. The GOP wants a conservative choice and so there Ron Paul. Now if only the media would let the public know that there are 3 GOP candidates running instead of 2.

I was taught in the public school system in Phoenix, Arizona that in order to be president the constitution required an American born individual to be president. So arn't his votes just a waste of effort or are they rewording the constitution so the closed system can win?

The trojan horse of the GOP will most likely become its nominee. If these neocons could go back in time, they would have given Ron Paul a chance - a chance to appear on their shows, a chance to spread his message, a chance for freedom and liberty to resound in the ears of a discontented population once again.

McCain is the worse candidate possible, and will NOT under any circumstance get my Conservative Republican ex-military vote period.
The media tries to pretend that Ron Paul does not exist. The media should not choose our next president. Ron Paul has a lot more support then everyone wants to admit. I live in AZ and was not able to vote for him in our Primary because of our state rules (that’s right I can’t vote for who I want). There have also been stories of his name being "accidentally left off the ballot" and people making up statements that he has dropped out of the campaign. THE GOVERNMENT IS AFRAID OF A CANDIDATE LIKE RON PAUL. HE SUPPORTS THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY AND OUR RIGHTS. How could anyone really vote for someone who thinks that we should be in Iraq for the next 100 years? Then on to Iran? How many more people have to die for special interests? If we actually needed our troops in the U.S. we wouldn’t even have any available to protect us. They are all in other countries where they should not be. Bring our troops home and protect our borders. Why even waste anymore time? We do not have the right to be the police of the world nor should we. We our destroying our own economy by fighting wars that we can't win.
Our Government prints money out of thin air and borrows more from other countries then we can ever pay back which is killing us and the value of our dollar is rapidly dropping. Do you really think that the government brainwashed zombies and liars have done a good job with our country so far? Bush has been one of the worst presidents in history. You all fell for his BS. He used the emotions of our country after 9/11 to put us in a war that benefits him, his friends, and his family members. Why allow them to throw us further down? Fighting wars that can never be won and wasting our hard earned money on their special interests. The companies that get bids to do jobs in countries where we are at war, they get over paid, and the money trail always comes back to people in the Government that are in some way affiliated with that company.
ACCORDING TO THE CONSTITUTION THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO RIGHT TO TAX US. THEY TAKE OUR MONEY AND USE IT FOR THEIR INTERESTS. THEY SPEND OUR TAX MONEY ON WHATEVER THEY WANT. Then they want to send us a small check to keep us quiet. Its time for us all to stand up for ourselves and fight this!!!

I hate to tell you this Ron, but it's alive and well, and I myself am spreading the word of Ron Paul to anyone who will listen. Out of all of Ron's views there is only one I dont see eye to eye with him on, I can live with that, and he got my vote, and if he is in the election in November he will get it again. I have urged people who I know are not yet registered to vote, to register and vote RON PAUL in November. GO RON GO, GO RON GO!! Where can I get a sign for my yard?

I wonder now daily how Ron Paul's campaign raised over $20 million by private citizen donations & he ends up with virtually no turnout in the caucuses.
It looks like a manipulation of the process.
I doubt that the Federal Reserves Non US elite founders care one bit if Obama, Clinton or McCain wins.

What makes you think we are any different from Putin's Russia. He has set up a 3 "opposing' political parties.
