In an election-eve web ad, Mitt Romney tries to appeal to conservatives by warning them that John McCain and Hillary Clinton are alike on many issues.
The two senators agree, the ad says, on illegal immigration, tax cuts, a gas tax hike, and conservative judges. It then has Bill Clinton's voice saying that McCain and Hillary Clinton are "very close."
The ad closes by asking, "Don't we need a leader who agrees with conservatives?"
"We need 'a full-spectrum conservative' like Governor Mitt Romney who can provide a clear conservative contrast with Sen. Clinton," the Romney campaign said in a press release unvei

If McCain managed to get through to the finish line, and the Oval office. We are going to be in a whole lot of dangerous trouble. I saw MCain viciously shout down a reporter on the Capitol steps, from a passive stance. He will pull us into another war and perhaps one in our own nation? I believe when he was in captivity, he was brain-washed and remains unhinged to this day?
A great ad... It's time the biased media started slamming the other three candidates with the same vigor they've been slamming Romney. It's time to back the true Republican front-runner and do what's right for America and not what sells newspapers. For a wakeup call everyone should read my new book "PIPM Ultimatum by Brad Tew.
That quote by Bill Clinton saying that John and Hillary are "very close" doesn't mean that they are very close on the issues, but very close friends. This does not mean anything in an election. I'm voting McCain but as a Republican you can be friends with anybody. I have friends who are Ron Paul fans, I hate it but I'm still friends with them, I'm sure if I knew Clinton or Obama I would be friends with them too, they're probably really nice people. But Romney has again twisted the quote. Them being close friends doesn't effect my vote AT ALL.
