New polls show tight races in both Ohio and Texas, whose March 4 primaries could play large roles in deciding the Democratic presidential nominee.
The ABC News/Washington Post surveys released today show Hillary Clinton with a 48 percent to 47 percent edge over Barack Obama in Texas and a 50 percent to 43 percent lead in Ohio. A quarter of likely voters in Texas and a third of those in Ohio are undecided or said they could change their minds.
Clinton badly needs to win both states -- and by large margins -- to snag a big share of the 334 delegates at stake to catch up to Obama in the pledged delegate race.

WHAT HAPPENING IN GOP, WE NEED ADDITIONAL POLITICAL PARTIES,ALL LOSERS. IF THE THIS IS THE BEST AMERICA HAS TO OFFER IT OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOBAMA!!!
VOTE HILLARY!!!! SHE NEEDS THE WINS!!!!! VOTE FOR HILLARY!
I REALLY HOPE THEY DON'T SCREW IT UP FOR OBAMA IN TEXAS AND OHIO...
Please pray for Cindy McCain to have the courage to stand by her man during his time of infidelity. Yes, it was 8 years ago. Yes, Ms. Iseman was only 32. But we all make mistakes. John McCain is a great man, and through God he must battle his demons. If Hillary can accept Bill, Cindy can accept John. We will pray for him to do what is right.
Obama could be the finest and most impactual president since Teddy Roosevelt. The sheer symbolism of electing a liberal black man will mend racial fences/ tensions domestically but will show the international community we are serious about sending our country in a new direction and repair the drastic affect the current administration on anti-american sentiment. Only individuals like the ignorant individual writing above can allow us to continue to destroy our country by allowing it to rot from the top down like they have for the last 8 years.
wow. your all caps statement with numerous exclamation points really enlightened me to a new point of view. suddenly i am questioning my whole existence. maybe you should match your eloquence to obama in debate. don't get me wrong people, i have choices i would take beyond obama, though i believe he is the best viable candidate. but richard, it goes beyond presidents so no need to shout. sometimes the softest voice makes the biggest impressions. how about a little insight about your plan for change.
It terrifies me that voters would even consider handing over power of our military to a person that was born and raised a muslim. After the last eight years that has got to be the most ill advised move ever. If we suffer a nuclear strike what will the youngsters who voted for Obama say? Sorry just won't cut it if the survivors are living in caves...
no it isnt necessary.its divisive
After Hillary Clinton's 'Xerox' comment last night for which she was booed, my respect for her as a person and candidate has been lost, and I now direct my vote to Senator Barack Obama. Comments like that show that she has no skills to bring the country together as a commander in chief.
Build the collation so we can force our will! Obama only candinate that can do this. If he does not get the nodd, the I go GOP!
FIGHT ILLITERACY!
Really Ben Anderson? One comment changed your vote? God help us all.
Facts for Comment 8 above:
Obama was never raised a Muslim.
His mother was the one that raised him and she was an Agnositc.
Obama found the Lord as an adult and he is a Christrian...
The question we need to answer is.... Does Obama has what it takes to run this country and international policies or would he just wave the white flag and say "lets talk'.??? Meanwhile Russia, China, NK, Iran, Venezuela would be going on with their own deceiving business. I think he is extremely inexperienced and all rhetoric to run this country. When Election Day comes, McCain will carry all the majority of usual GOP states and the male white voters that are voting for him(Obama) now will switch bases... and of course don't forget the Latinos too. States like Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio will go to GOP... tight races in NY, CA even in Massachusetts....this is my prediction.
If Hillary is the nominee the battlefield would be even with McCain and she would carry states like Ohio, Florida and the other usual Democratic states and bring the Whitehouse back to the Democrats.
GO Hillary 2008....
Hillary was out classed last night by Barack. I have more confidence in him now than ever. He is the leader this country needs NOW! George Bush has destroyed all that this country has stood for. In a time of crisis who would you like to turn on your TV to see addressing us and providing the leadership to pull us through? Hillary or Barack. Under Barack we wouldn't have been in Iraq, You know by his caring nature that New Orleans would not have been the disaster it was and is. The world was by our side after 9/11 and Bush in all his Republican arrogance managed to turn a globe against us. I am now one of the one million grassroot contributes towards the election of Barack Obama for President, CARE to join me?
Well let's see; Hillary says that she has the experience, and she is the best person to manage the government, yet her campaign is heavily in debt and it appears heavily mismanaged. Obama has plenty of money and has managed his campaign with glowing results.
Why should we vote for Hillary?...............................
It seems to me that Hillary Clinton can't relate to the people with her scripted stories. eg. When I was campaigning in Fargo North Dakota, I met a young little hispanic boy who lost his parents during hurricane katrina. He was all alone weeping on the side of the road. My motorcade pulled up and I told him to get in. He told me his life story how he lost his leg and how he broke his arm when he was seven and I thought to myself, my many years serving my country has been nothing compared to everyday life of ordinary Americans ! And before I patted him on his back and said goodbye I told the little hispanic boy to remember these three words, SI SE PUEDE!!!!
Obama is the best presidential candidate we have had in awhile. I'm so tired of people responding to his popularity like he is a rock star or "trend". The reason why he has inspired so many people, like me, is b/c he is a leader w/ a vision. MLK brought people to the masses, encouraged people to get involved in change, had a vision...but yet no one has labeled him as a "rock star". Obama is a leader that inspires, which is the reason why so many Americans are jumping on board. It is not b/c he is some rock star followed by delusional people. The World wants America to get off its high horse and change. Obama is a great start. OBAMA 08 or I will not vote. I'm sick of the same old politics! Plus, remember, if Obama can inspire Americans for change, he will inspire the world. Obama has experience in Sound JUDGEMENT, which is what this country needs. OBAMA 08
Is it OK that Obama plagiarized himself and that his wife said that she has not been proud to be an American? Wake up people!
Obama a Christian? lol...Anyone who supported and supports partial birth abortion in my eyes is not a Christian. I know the Bible says not to judge but we can be fruit inspectors and by Obama's fruit he has put out....He doesn't pass the test......
Senator Obama was poised and thoughtful and clearly in charge at the debate in Austin. It is clear that he would be the most worthy candidate to face Senator McCain. I am afraid that Hillary would be as miserable a president as her husband was and our country would be at an increased risk of another attack on our soil (like the one that Bill was directly responsible for!). I was encouraged to hear Senator Obama state that his primary concern would be the safety of the American people! I beleive that either Senator Obama or Senator McCain would admirably carry on the incredible legacy of protection of our country that President Bush has established. I believe the current President will be remembered as one of the truly finest in the history of this country!
Go Mitt Go
Barack's speachs inspire unity and righteousness. Something america needs right now. I'll support any presidental nominee that against all odds can unify this country enlight of the perils we all face as citizens of this country. Don't let race play a factor in this election, do whats right for the country. Vote for Barack Obama
and share in the wealth and glory of this country as one!
Speaking of plagiarism, why has no one noted that Hillary's heartfelt words at the end of the debate, were actually spoken by John Edwards in a previous debate last year? And get your quotes right #18, Michelle Obama said she was REALLY proud to be an American, not the other way around.
Mr. Davis,
Were you aware that the Southern Baptist Convention passed a resolution in 1971 supporting legislation allowing abortion, and that they changed their stance on abortion not after Rowe v. Wade, but in the late 1970s as a throw-away attempt to galvanize more support? I suppose that the SBC is not a Christian organization in your view...
PEDRO's predictions are offline: Florida and Ohio have been going RED the past two elections. The chances are greater that they will still go RED this fall. In case you missed it, recently, Hillary was polled head to head with McCain in Ohio and Florida, McCain won in both states.
If Hillary wins the Nomination (assuming no one is turned off and stay home on election day), she will fall short 13 Electoral colleges; because she will replicate John Kerry's performance in 2004 (251 Electoral Colleges), and Arkansas flipping BLUE for her (6 ECs).
For Hillary to win, she would need 2-3 small states that were RED last time to go Blue. AT this point NONE is likely.
OBAMA, on the other hand if he replicates John Kerry (251), he has a greater chance of VA, CO, LA, MO, IA flipping Blue for him, which did not happen for Kerry, and Win s the White House, WITHOUT Florida and Ohio.
The COMBINATION of OBAMA/HILLARY or HILLARY/OBAMA is virtually unbeatable by McCain. You can bet your money on it.
The United States as a family of States has only Florida to blame for putting George Bush in Office 2 times. If they went BLUE last time, Kerry could have won, but they seem to defile logic in real issues.
Obama bin Laden's good friend Deval Patrick ran for Governor of Massachusetts with the same tired theme of "change, change, change". He promised more police officers (flop), he promised real estate tax refunds (flop) and the list goes on and on. The voters of Massachusetts fell for his charismatic speeches and we were all duped. The same will happen with Osama. Change translates to failure including tripling the size of government with scary tax increases and negotiating with terrorist states. We should not get duped again. We need to stay clear of this camelion.
YOU OBOMA FOLKS BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU ARE ASKING. VOTE FOR HILLARY
Obama is aganist the war from the begining and Hilary is not.
Obama is aganist NAFTA and Hilary is for. We need more job in US soil.
Obama is for College students and Hilary has no plan.
Obama is not receiving money from lobbyst and Hilary is taking lobbyst money.
Support Obama for Presidnet of United States of America.
YES WE CAN. GO OBAMA.
Hillary Clinton and her husband are has-beens. Giving then 16 years of control in the White House is way beyond rational judgement. The fear of party hacks trying to dislodge the nomination from Obama at teh convention and the Clinton campaign's insistance that rules should be changed to accomodate them mid-flight with so-called disenfranchised voters is enough to drive any undecided voter to the Illinois senator. The popular vote as of this morning in America has Obama ahead of Hillary by nearly a million votes. That is unlikely to change by much on March 4th. The people have spoken.
And Pedro, wake up! The Hispanics are beginning to jump ship on Hillary in large numbers. Go Obama!
If Obama is the Democratic nominee John McCain will win in November. And
when John McCain is ending Social Security, Medicare, and waging a war in Iran. I will blame all you Obama supporters. Obama is another ultra left wing liberal perfect for the Right Wing Sound Machine. Obama cannot win the purple swing states. Wake up before it's too late.
The Democratic nominees do have plenty in common, but what has Obama really done? Give me a list of his accomplishments juxtaposed to Hillary's and it's clear who is ready to be President. Obama can't go from doing not much at all, to running our country, especially with the huge amounts of mess we are in. Hillary has my vote because she has the passion and the vision to bring the much needed change we need. Obama has a lot of voters captivated through his speeches, but can he step up and lead to bring about change in Washington? Obama would be another Bush, surrounding himself with people that he needs to do the work for him. When push comes to shove it takes a sincerely hard working President - Hillary Clinton.
yeah obama. get her. just continue to beat her until she drops out.
Half the comments made on the blog are the product of idiocy. I especially hate when someone comments, and their points are indecipherable, vote for Obama, at least he stresses education. you stupid high school drop-outs, and don't vote. Go read.
And Kevin, this is America, religion has no place in politics. Take a civics class, or jump on board the bush train with your own hypocrisy.
The right wing Christians who have forced their views on others for years are finally losing power. America is coming to realize we need leadership that is fair and believes in the separation of church and state. Prohibiting abortions, gay marriages, and the like is profoundly un-American because it forces the Puritanical pious Christian outlook on the rest of us. America is not a Christian nation. Let's include our whole population in our policies. I'm pro-democracy, I'm pro-Democratic Party. I'm pro-Barack Obama. He is the strong, diplomatic, unifying Democrat who will lead America into another golden age.
talk is cheap, with this tough time and tough job here at home and for the entire world, Hillary is best choice,
You prefer talk or action? you prefer new hope or hope based on expereince?
action speaks louder then word.
We dont want to regret after we vote. Lets think harder.
We don't want expereince of Macian that supports billions of wasted tax money in iraq for another100 yrs. we don't want republican's do it alone action and lose our respect in the world , we don't want someone who favors only the rich and big iol and drug companies.

god bless usa!
Vote for OBAMA is a vote for McCain.
OBAMA has as much chance of becoming President as Jesse Jackson has in in his lifetime.
Fox news loves OBAMA - that should explain the media's love for OBAMA. Where did his father get the money to study in USA? Where did he get the money to go to exclusive schools? Where did he get money for his drugs and women? What role his drug dealers will play if he is elected?
Dont screw up again for the third time for the hard working American People.
As an educator we teach students and were taught ourselves about the woes of plagiarism. You could be suspended out put out of institutions for this type of behavior. This sends such a negative message to young people. Plagiarism is plagiarism and it is unacceptable. Even though I have many friends and sorority sisters doesn't give me the right to barrow their work and use it without giving them proper credit first. Behaviors like this say a lot about one's character.
Someone please explain how Hillary has any more experience than Obama. My wife has been married to me for 6 years of my career as a Green Beret. Is she now better qualified than someone else to be a Green Beret?
I believe that Hillary is the right candidate for a good presidential campaign because she knows what to do and has been there. Obama is still learning the process. Politics is an ugly business. HIllary has the strength, knowledge and conviction to see us through these horrible times. You can say anything you like about her but she has stood the test of time. I for her all the way to the white house.
I am very unimpressed with Hillary Clinton. Given a sure Democratic nomination, she managed turn her campaign into a complete mess in a classic display of failure. Meanwhile, Obama has managed to build an ecosystem around him generating money, press and momentun. There is no doubt that Obama has proven to be more capable of getting things accomplished than Hillary. At the end of the day, it is about results. I don't care about how hard you work. I don't care about your intentions. I was excited about Hillary Clinton and one point and now I see her as a complete failure.

If this is true then why did he say err, err, before every sentence? He was definitely at a loss unless Hillary gave the answer first then he knew what to say.
I believed Hillary won and I sent her a donation the following day.
Another Proud American who has always been proud of my country, ALWAYS.
Hillary is going to lose both in Texas and Ohio. Not becuase she is not a great candidate but becuase 2008 USA General Election is just not her season.
It was said of the children of Issachai .... in the bible that they understood the times and season......
By the the way US elections is not about US citizens alone, it is also about the the global world seeking a leader --- an America who is first of firm and humble and that was expressed and also reflective in the results that democrats around the world gave Obama.
Americans should not be sitting down to think they have the final say in 2008 elections. There are people in China yes few of them, in Cuba, In North Korea and others who have joined up in prayer of faith beleiving America elects the right candidates.
So there is a massive warfare, that explains the twist and turns in the Democratic elections.
1. i precieved that God wants to send the black race ( USA and UK) cannot continue to use racism and discrimation as an excuse for their failures.
2. i should think that will knock out KO the leadership failures of African heads of state for non performance particularly those south of the sahara. 3. Breaking that evil mindset of some race being better than the other. Race superiority and the myths that surrounds the blue blood. This was what Bob Marley sad "until the philosophy that holds one race superior and another inferior is completely discredit, then everyday there will be war......." But becuase he was on marijuana he was not taken serious.
In UK and USA, most black folks think that the white man is their problem, so admist great opportunities, they careless to take advantage of it.
4. Causing people in all th world to rise to accept responsibilities for their actions and lifestyle.
This is so true when Obama wins the elections.
Many of us in Illinois are amzed at the turn of events. Obama seems to be the saving grace bt many. One only needs to look from where he come from and how he started throught the ranks of Emil Jones army. I think he will beat Hillary and like all great races many will question why we voted for him.The issue was never about his color but of his experience and lack of it.I think Hillary had the best chance of winning the White House and many will jump ship. Time will only tell and all eyes will be on Texas and Ohio. For America's sake I hope they make the right choice

Hillary looks an angry person, probably long term humiliation of her , by her husband has made her like that. She needs some serious help. But she needs to understand that her fake look, dryness and anger is bad for her pesonal helath and her campaign.
Jorelyn:
Here is an extensive article comparing the policies of Obama vs those of Clinton. Read carefully and decide for yourself.
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/2/20/201332/807/36/458633
As a non American Obama would be good to change the view Americans are looked at by the rest of the world. No experience give me a break we all learn on the job no matter where you start
go Obama
I believe Hillary Clinton would be a great president. Come on people open your eyes and see all the great things she will do for the United States. Things like health insurance and social security. Its time to get a president in the white house that cares about the people of the USA and who WILL get things done in a positive way
If Hillary loses. I hope she does, she'll do so partially because of her personality. She is, in my opinion, cold and calculating. I don't, for one minute, buy all the tears act. If we, as Americans, face a major problem, what will she do, cry? The Clinton- Bush card needs to be stopped. We need someone new.
Obama or Clinton would destory this country, we need 8 more years of BUSH!!!
God Bless GWBUSH!!!!!!
Hillary can win both Ohio and Texas and still lose the nomination. Obama will get many delegates from Texas even if he loses to Clinton. She can't win by enough through the rest of the contests. After all primary races are finished Obama will not have the delegates needed to win but he will lead Clinton in pledged delegates and will likely have stolen another couple dozen superdelegates taking the lead there. Then the Democratic party will have no choice but to throw their support behind Obama.
I also wonder if these polls include independant voters and Republicans like myself who recently changed party affiliation so that I can vote for Obama in the NC primary. NC is a state Obama will run away with and take most of the 117 delegates with him.
I am all for Obama, he is the only leader who I am certain, can unite our country and bring the glorious America its glory and respect back. Yes we are strong and Mighty military but never arrogant bullies "the image" Bush administration has given of America to the world. We want the world to know America like before "the land of brave and free" M'cain is going to continue what Bush has been doing "Screw the country" in cowboy style. GObama.

It's really sad to see Americans pinning their hopes to Obama. Someone with no substance and is just an illusion of hope and change. Get real, he's the most liberal of all senators. Do you really think he's gonna be able to get the conservatives to jump on board as he claims? What a joke. History will tell that this reflex reaction of going from the far right to the far left will do nothing, but split the country apart and continue to put the country in a spiral downwards. When are we gonna learn that the best choice for the country is not necessarily the most likeable or optimistic, but he most realistic and capable? Vote for Obama if you wanna get disappointed and waste another 4 years. Don't you think some president in the past 200 years would have fixed the country and changed Washington to what Obama claims his vision is already? Vote for Hillary if you wanna get the country back on track to surpluses and economic prosperity not because of popularity. This is not American Idol and stop the fantasy of everyone living in harmony. Why has Obama not tried to reach out and have diplomatic relations with Al Qaeda? Maybe they'll listen to his rhetoric and all of a sudden stop hating us.
Freak Obama! Go Hillary! She has to win this!!! Vote Clinton not Obama! Obama's middle name is Hosain, doesn't that sound like Saddam Hosain?
Vote Hillary this election!
I'm glad all you people out there supporting Obama are RICH. He plans on increasing gas taxes to 50 CENTS/Gallon. That will affect the cost of gas, food, trains, restaurants, clothes, in other words everything you buy that is transported by plane, train, truck, or car. So unless it's coming by horse & buggy, I'm glad all of you can afford 50 CENTS more!!
Does anyone out there check what these guys support??
As I read some of these comments I am shocked and disappointed with my fellow Americans. Who cares what Barack Obama's middle name is??? He was not raised a muslim and he is not a terrorist. His middle name only shows his ancestry. We all have a family tree people! It sickens me to read such comments. I haven't been to impressed with Hillary or her husband. Not than and not now. They appear to be morally bankrupt and will do anything to get elected, and worry about the mess they create while trying to get elected. I am so tired of hearing about her experience. What experience? As First Lady? I don't think so. As NY Senator? I'm a New Yorker and I'm not impressed with her performance in the Senate. Let's go back through our history and find a President who had the experience to be the President of the United States. No one has the experience to hold that job. That's why the President is surrounded by advisors from every walk of life. It is time to move forward America. It is time to get away from the Bush and Clinton error and move in a new direction. I am so tired of hearing the same crap from the Clinton's and the Bush's. It has been going on for 20 years. Yes, 20 YEARS! It's time to move on. I am not against a woman president. i am a woman, but Hillary is NOT the woman for this job! I pray that America wakes up and puts Barack Obama on the Democratic Ticket. I hope the Superdelegates will listen to the nation and support Barack Obama. If not, no one will ever vote again in this country because it will be apparent that our vote really doesn't count. When all of this is done I hope I am deciding between Obama and McCain. It's time for the Clinton's to retire.
Hillary Clinton is the only qualified person to run this country out of all these MEN. One person commented that only Mr. B.O. has a college plan. Are you people crazy? She has spelled out very clearly all the issues and her solutions to these issues. We know the Obama (Mr. B.O.) mania people are in a fog, but, you better clear your head before it is too late. The guy is not presidential, just because he wears a suite and tie and does "nicey, nicey" on the stump. She is running a campaign , he is runing a "snow job". Some day, all of you will be "same old, same old". Since when do we disrespect age, and experience. Eventually,
Mr. B.O. will be considered "same old, same old" as well as all of you Messiah people........please let me know how you will feel after dedicating you life to politics and then being disregarded, treated disrespectfully, and being told you know nothing. I can't wait to see how you will feel. By the way "you better hope that what you wish for doesn't come true"

I'm not rich and I'm an Obama supporter. I think that voting for Hillary because she is a woman or "because she needs it" is not the right reason to vote for someone. I'm a woman, and as much as I would like a woman for president, I support Obama because I think that he will bring the country together- men, women, young, old, democrats, republicans, independents- so that this country can move in a positive direction. Hillary has been a formidable opponent, but more and more I feel like she is representative of the same old establishment and politics that has been detrimental to our country. As a 30 year old woman (making 25K a year), I support Obama!!!
I dont see how any one with good faith could vote for Obama when he is a musilam and has addmitted to this. All of the united states know that the Musilam's hate the US so why would be every put on in charge or our wonderfull county? I voted for Hillary in TEXAS and if she does not win and it is between McCain and Obama Then I will turn to the republican.
GOOO TEXAS FOR HILLARY
Hillary failed her duty as a wife and her husband turned to someone else. So how can she be a president of the US. If she can't manage her husband she can no way run a country. We need a President who is intelligent and young. Not an old woman who think she can be President just because she was the wife of a President who did not even run the country well. Destroyed health system and the military. We need a President who is strong and has dignity, courage and poise. Not a senile like McCain. So much about bad things being said to Obama by Hillary he is the best candidate so far compared to all of them. We've seen Hillary how she was as a First Lady and a wife. And you want to see her as a President. Come on people be realistic and open your eyes. She covered every infedelity that her husband did. Is she the person you want as President?
To get to know a person look at their character at the present time. Hillary Clinton is trying to ride the coat tails of Bill so her family can have a Clinton Legacy. Her being President has nothing to do with helping America. She shows she cannot make good judgement with her campaign-she cannot handle the finances-and she has an image problem of being rough and not relating with the people. Why would I want her health care plan with no other choices.
I think that McCain, Clinton, and Obama are all viable choices.
McCain has worked with democrats on various committees in Congress and has acknowledged the increasing danger of CO2 emissions and global warming.
Clinton has served in the Senate for a long period of time, is very intelligent and hard working, and understands more about government than people give her credit for. Also, the popular sentiment that she isn't genuine or caring would most likely subside if she was given a chance at the presidency.
Obama is extremely likeable and loquacious. He has demonstrated his familiarity with both the overall American persona and select individual interests such as job protection and health care reform.
I will be a proud American when one of these three candidates becomes President in November. I am, however, voting for Hillary.
