  1. I lived in Pittsburgh for three years and was initially please when Ravenstahl became mayor. He's young and Pittsburgh badly needs youth. Sadly, he's turned out to be just another pol. This cinches it. You're not a politician in your 20s if you're trying to change the world. Obama's doomed in Pa.

  1. That's too bad. I think Obama will be stronger than Clinton against McCain, both in PA and the national elections. As a resident of Pittsburgh, I'm disappointed in my elected officials.

  1. Ravenstahl only became mayor through the crony system anyway, so why not keep his record of cronyism perfect?

  1. There are plenty of people in Pittsburgh for whom an endorsement by Ravenstahl and Onorato is a good reason to consider the opponent. Clinton may or may not win PA, but this endorsement will have little bearing on that.

  1. Endorsements mean absolutely nothing to anyone but the media!!!
If you vote based only on the knowledge of how someone else will vote and
for no other reason you don't deserve the rigth to vote. PA and OH are still
very racist in rural areas of the states. They need to listen and learn. Believe
me my first thought was how could a man named Bararck Hussein Obama
even get passed Iowa. I did my homework and am know part of his grassroots
campaign. The man is a little more for "real " in what he is saying and doing
than Hillary or Bill ever were. They have a nice" cover " but read a little further into
    the book.YES WE CAN

  1. I'm glad he made that decision.

Obama's racist/antipatriotic/ crazy pastor, Jeremiah Wright, is making me lean Republican, if Obama wins the nomination.

  1. I lived in Pittsburgh too. Unfortunately it just means that Onorato who will try to wrest the mayorship from his younger counterpart, know the constituency in the western PA region. And this region is much more like the Archie Bunkers, see Ferraro, of the world than the Bobby Kennedys. Beyond race, this group likes their predictable old school politicians. Pittsburgh is like the land that time forgets. Its transformed and continues to, but those that are benefitting from the transitions are a transient, affluent population which leave as quickly as they come for more cosmopolitan settings. The aging population in the Steel City are staunch traditionalists who work against change because they largely fear it. I love the city. But I wish its people would join the 21st century.

  1. Hillary was not ready on Day One of this campaign, nor was she ready on day 30 or 40, 50 or 60..She bumbled and stumbled and then she got ugly.
Showing up with pompous Lieberman over her shoulder and making it sound like we were better off with "Which Way the Wind Blows" McCain is unacceptable if we expect to survive after the coming Bush meltdown.
This campaign and election is not about the politicans, it is about the voters.
That means we need to vote for Senator Obama.

  1. Why would the mayor endorse Clinton given the divisive, racist undertones of her campaign thus far? Does PA want to be the state that supports the losing candidate? Do Pennsylvanians know how unelectable Clinton is going to be in the general?

  1. When the world ends, you want to be in Pittsburgh. Why? Because it will take 10 years for it to get here. I'm not surprised by the Ravenstahl and Onorato endorsements. Despite their youth, they are at least 10 years behind the times.

  1. From what I understand the Mayor and County Executive held meetings with the candidates to consider each for their endorsement. Both candidates were asked questions and the Mayor and County Executive made a choice. I would think that they made their choice on which candidate would do most for the Western Pa area. After all they are elected by the people of Western Pa and that is the district they should be most concerned about. So they made their decision based on that. I applaud them for having the courage to endorsement based on their district needs rather then on the easy popular opinion

  1. Another endorsement for a true leader!!!!!! She has what it takes to be a leader of the greatest country in the world. She is someone who will work to make our country better because she cares and loves our country. Unlike other candidates who have to answer alot of questions about why they want to be in the White House. ---- If he believes like Pastor Wright???? God help us all.

  1. Actually, Boss Rendell told Ravenstahl and Onorato to endorse Hillary or else there will be no more money from the state. The meeting/interview story is bogus.

  1. anyone out ther that thinks oprah and ted kennedy did not play a part in obamas ability to get more support is living under a rock. I would agree that you should not base your vote on who some else is voting for. but the facts are the facts. and racists undertones what are you listening to marie. my goodness the foundation of obamas campaign is racists he just hasnt the the b---- to be honest with the american people. oh thats right if we were honest he wouldnt have a snowballs chance in h---. he is a fake an imposter and a liar with no integrity this is my opinion even before all of the recent facts were out.. i cant believe that anybody is still falling for his lies. i ask any of you black white or other would you bring your child to his church and his pastor to learn about jesus? if your true answer is yes than i will pray for you.all americans should vote on who ever it is they think will be the best president. first however they should become informed.

  1. My family is very familiar with the Pittsburgh area since our son attended Duquesne. We are pleased with Mayor Ravenstahl's endorsement of Senator Clinton. We fondly remember the first Clinton administration and look forward to supporting her in her bid for the White House. With Senator Clinton's progressive domestic and foreign policies, she will have a positive impact on the lives of the American people.
