Obama all over Texas airwaves
With far more money to spend and with some polls suggesting his lead is shrinking, Barack Obama is bombarding Texas with four new TV ads that highlight some of his key arguments and that try to insulate him against Hillary Clinton's attacks on his national security credentials.
One shows parts of a recent campaign speech in which he promises to protect the country, keep the military strong, and care for veterans when they return. "We have a solemn obligation to honor those who have served on our behalf," Obama says.
In a second spot, former Air Force chief Merrill A. McPeak vouches for Obama on defense, pointing to his early opposition to the Iraq war.
A third spot emphasizes Obama's appeal to independents and Republicans, who have helped fuel his 11-contest winning streak and who his supporters say would help him win in November, and alludes to the fierce partisan wars during the Clinton administration.
And in the last ad, Obama speaks directly to voters. "We need a new direction," he says. "On Tuesday, help change Washington."

I think it is tragic that Barack Obama has to defend himself against Clinton's attacks. I am so looking forward to him winning the nomination and campaigning against John McCain. That will be a race where each canidate will be appealing to Americans based on what they each offer and standing on their own merits. Only a Clinton and those like her try to win by tearing others down. I think McCain has more character than the Clinton's and it will likely be a respectable campaign. Hillary is same old, same old and clearly has taken lessons from Karl Rove and is adding pages to his playbook.
Obama , you're the one we need now.
Skip the drama, vote Obama. We need him to change this country around.
The assertion that "We need a new direction..." just affirms the obvious. Mrs Clinton & her advisors understand the nation (& national values & ethics) have been trashed by Bush & his cabal.
Where is FDR now that we need him?

At the beginning of this campaign season a large majority of voters were looking forward to electing Clinton. So basically Obama's entire platform for credibility on national security is a speech he made at a time when he had no responsiblity. I'm not so eager to say that preaching to the choir is all that much to brag about . You, me, none of us wanted to see this war happen, but if speaking to our friends who agree with us at a time when none of us risk any career repurcussions, then I guess we all might as well be running for president.

As we once sung to the sonorous notes of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and John Kennedy we hear notes that bespeak a revitalization of what has always been deeply rooted and broadly felt among the People.
My Grandfather, I believe, would have added Obama to his list of the only Presidents to be worthly of the privilage. His first vote was for Teddy, he admired FDR.

I, like you, am puzzled by the lack of an examination of Barack Hussein Obama. As a veteran of the military, I can tell you with certainty that he would NEVER receive a secret security clearance just by virtue of having been raised for some time in his life in Indoneisa, famous for being not only the most populous Muslim country but also its commonplace "death to America" type protests.
Obama is NOT some all American kid who grew up in an area like the Bronx, like Colin Powell.
I want the Democrats to win so badly, but I feel that he's going to be crushed after the now-deliberately-silent Republicans start bringing to light Obama's background. It's obvious that they're cheering him on with a passion because they know he's the rare Democrat who would lose to a Republican even after 8 years of Bush.
Hillary supporters feel the only way to combat the win of Obama is to use his middle name in a Republican right-wing smear tactic that even Karl Rove has said is bad taste.
Hillary and her supporters that try this tactic are in the same mold as Karl Rove Republicans, except worse, because they feel they are Democrats.
Hillary also vote for Barack
