Obama backer sorry for 'blue dress' comment

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor March 24, 2008 01:34 PM

The war of words between surrogates for the Democratic presidential hopefuls descends further into the muck.

The campaigns sniped at each other over the weekend after retired Air Force General Merrill A. McPeak, an adviser to Barack Obama, accused former President Bill Clinton of McCarthyism for, in McPeak's view, questioning Obama's patriotism. Hillary Clinton's campaign said her husband's remarks to veterans in North Carolina had been misconstrued.

Today, another Obama supporter, former Iowa Democratic Party chairman Gordon Fischer, complained that Bill Clinton was hurting the Democratic Party and leaving "a stain on his legacy much worse, much deeper, than the one on Monica's blue dress." That, of course, is a blunt reference to the former president's affair with intern Monica Lewinsky that led to impeachment hearings.

Fischer has already apologized for that comment, which he posted on his own blog, Iowa True Blue. Calling it "stupid" and "tasteless and gratuitous," Fischer said, "It was unnecessary and wrong."

But the Clinton camp is not letting bygones be bygones, calling it the most personal attack yet in the increasingly bitter nomination fight.

It's hysterical how up in arms everyone gets when someone who is part of the Obama campaign loses their temper after dealing with constant put downs coming out of the Clinton camp-The media would do well to get just as outraged over the remarks made on a daily and weekly basis for months now by Bill Clinton, Carville, Penn and Wolfson. There is absolutely no comparison between these two campaigns.

Where is the extensive coverage on Carville calling Bill Richardson Judas? Where is the extensive coverage on Hillary's most recent lie she was caught in about her sniper landing that NEVER happened. Where is the extensive coverage on her failure to disclose her taxes, library donors, earmarks and everything else that she consistently holds back? I wish the media would stop playing for the Clinton team and start being a little more objective.

Keep apologizing, Obadamas, as you continue to fill the air with poison. First it's the loudmouth and strangely silent (recently) Michele ... then the Reverend Wright ... and now this idiot. Remember, what you give out comes back to you. Meanwhile, we expect to hear more of your "oops I said that, gee I'm sorry" crap. Hey, Bill Richardson, if you want to see gutter politics in action, just look at your candidate, his family and his minions of gutter guerillas. Nice job. And you're right, it is "new politics." Because we've never seen such low lifes pretending to be "leaders."

Typical of the Obama campaign. Claim to be "above it all". a "candidate not a politician".

The reality is that Senator Obama owns the media and has poisoned the democratic party in their own "scorched earth policy"

It's no wonder that a higher % of Senator Clinton's supporters cannot and will not support Senator Obama if he manages to win the nomination.

Hahah that's quite possibly the most hilarious joke I've ever heard!! I mean, yes it was a personal attack, and very rude, not to mention innappropriate but oh my God it was FUNNY! That was a very brilliant joke, and I'm amazed that someone could come up with that so quickly. If the man had been a stand-up comedian instead of a politician, it would've been PERFECT.

This is so like the Obama campaign. First they accuse the Clinton campaign of "gutter politics" then they roll in the mud and hurl personal attacks against the Clintons.

Whose playing "gutter politics" now? What happened to the Obama campaign's new politics?

Some uniter he turns out to be.

Once said, always said. Obama campaign has shown twice this weekend just how low life they are. Mc Peak's Joe Mac comment was so far over the top as to be a desperate rant over nothing. Blue dress, desperate and personal, wrong person though.

One can only wonder how many bubbles burst will it take for the shades to be removed from the Obama supports eyes.

So this is what change means?
It appears to me that the Obama camp is running scared. do they know something we do not?

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Bill Clinton's remarks didn't question Obama's patriotism. In fact, he could have been talking about Clinton and Obama, or he could have been projecting ahead to his wife's securing the nomination and talking about Clinton and McCain, but how they got the absurd nonsense some Obama supporters did from this statement is beyond me. McPeak is clearly unstable, and so are some of these other nut cases.

What Mr. Fisher said might not be "politically correct" but it is the absolute truth. As a liberal Democrat, I am forced to agree with the Republicans when they said that the Clintons are the poster children of lies, corruption and deceit within American politics. Want just one example? Never forget Bill's the final-day-in-office, full presidential pardon of convicted billionaire securities swindler MARK RICH. A blow job in the Oval Office is nothing compared to the shame of that injustice to all of Mark Rich's victims.

Dear Mr. Fischer:

While your remark is in poor taste, it does speak to the heart of America's concerns with the Clinton's. She acts as though she has a right to 'inherit' the job because her husband was president. She is perfect in every way and in every decision in her public past. She has a nice group of friends and family to say those stupid things that she thinks but can't afford to say. Hopefully she goes back to New York before handing the election to the Republicans

hwo can the CLinton camp be offended by a statement that was not conjecture but fact, and a fact that was lied about by the former President? We women of America feel if a man lies to his wife about his lack of intefrity, he will lie to the Nation. If fact we don't even like McCain-he lied to his first wife even after serving years in prison. Where are men of Integrity, or for the matter women? I was shocked to hear about the new Govenors admission in public, not only about his multipld affairs, but his wifes as well, stating this was commonplace for many Americans! Do they think life mimics soap operas? Life in the position of responsibility demands preparing from youth to have integrity. I would have admired Hillary more if she had dumped her cheating spouse. It wasn't just one time he had no personal discipline. This not accepteable for the majority of Mothers in America.I like Condaliza Rice! She has more knowledge and ability in her little finger than all our leaders combined! I did like how the new(new york )Govenors wife said it is important for children to see marriage partners "work it out"Our children has become selfish and marriage disposable. But rather than suffer emotional abuse, (which can be by both men and women!) I would leave! If our men aren't learning to treat women with respect we need look no further than the lack of example in the home, the tolerance of disrespect for individuals in the media and the poor example of our leaders. Yes, it time for change-find a leader with integrity, IN and out of the home!

Hilary should take what little is left of her self respect and legacy and that of her husband's presidency that she lays claim to and both should go home. The "throwing the kitchen sink " mentality of these two is a disgrace and a blemish on the eight years that they lay claim to. You can't tell me that Bill has never heared a sermon like the one given by Wright, and since when do we question the patriotism of someone because they talk honestly about the inequtties that exist around the issues of race and gender. The Clinton's have pandered to African Americans in the past. ( who opened his office is Harlem????)and all of a sudden they are questioning someone's patriotism. Bill's tongue did not slip but his brain certainly is slipping these days. Barack Obama should be the democratic nominee to lead this country back from the abyss created by Bush and the campaign of the Clintons. This Clinton campaign of dirty tricks by the two who claimed that they had been dirty tricked by the republicans and media through out the impeachment and White Water hearings sure proves that they dish out this stuff, one can only imagine what the next four years will look like with Hilary driving the Bus.
I say "don't let this pigeon drive the bus! no sireee

Fischer merely verbalized what many have been thinking all along. It's a rather poignant reminder -- not so much that Bill played around while he was in the White House -- but that he lied to the American people about it. That's not a good trait in a potential co-president.

So, Clinton or Obama? Hmmm....let's look at their resumes....relationships with "close advisors".....seems pretty clear: Hillary. Why not jump on a bandwagon of hype? The problem I have with Mr. Obama is his pattern of saying one thing and then distancing himself from those words when the opposite is revealed at a later date. That is called "spin", folks, and certainly not "new politics". It also speaks to his platform of "good judgement". How can it be good judgement to listen to divisive words when you are also running on a platform of "unity", and listen to that for 20 years, just as an aside. We have a need and right to know Senator Obama from every angle and what he believes when he talks of equality and a "vision" for America. For voter (or media) to say that Clinton +/or Obama is at fault for the direction the Democratic campaign has headed, is ludicrous and short-sighted. America is a melting pot of races, genders, culture, etc. and we each have a personal interest in seeing "ourselves" in our President. With that connection comes passion and emotional investment. However, it also must be tempered with information about the candidates (good and bad, without negative "label" attached to said information) so that we can make informed choices, rather than only emotionally-driven ones. To Americans: try to take off the blinders of opinion polls, media spin, mud and excitement and remember what this race is really about: Hiring someone to do the toughest and, arguably, most important job on the planet. Being President of the US isn't about speeches, promises and what-if's - it is about who you believe will get up, everyday, and work their butt off for every hardworking American, because they have a track record of that already. That person is Senator Clinton. She has worked hard and diligently for all Americans, and spent years building strong relationships because she has a passionate vision of what America can be, not just because she's running for President. Vetted, intelligent, tested and hardworking. Senator Clinton is the right choice for me in '08

It is poltics plain and simple, who cares what side you are on. Both sides will have other things to say. One says racist comments and the other says something else. To the bitter Clinton supporters here: remember, it was your candidate's campaign that decided, the day after Hillary gushed over Obama at the conclusion of the Austin debate, to declare the "kitchen sink" strategy. That very next day, Hillary made her sad, fatuous "Shame on you, Barack" comment. Not to excuse the occasional, and occasionally very funny, unfortunate reactions from a couple of Obama supporters, but the initial flush down the john came from the Clintons, not the Obamas.

If the Clinton camp is this thin-skinned about a single blue dress joke, what is going to happen in the general if they somehow hijack the Democratic nomination?

Here is a sampling of 527 ads already in the can on the off-chance Billary gets the Democratic nod:

Blue Dress
Bimbo Eruptions
Pardon Me
Health Care Meltdown

and don't miss the series "What else are the Clintons hiding" including White House records, Library "contributors" and tax returns.

This notion of Hillary's so-called electability ignores the idea that Republicans might go negative. Now that's a joke.

As a 39 year old Asian-American in California, I supported Clinton in the primary, and I was glad she won the state even though Oprah Winfrey, Maria Shriver, the Kennedys were working really hard to convince CA to go with Obama. But after Super Tuesday, I also came to think that I would support Obama if he won the nomination. Then gradually, more stuff came out, and it gradually changed myself to a firm believer that I would not be able to support Obama in November if he did get the nomination, not after all these new revelations and all these paranoid attacks from his campaigh. I will sit out or even vote for McCain -- lots of moderate Democrats have no problem supporting McCain.

Is there a reason why we feel we have to apologize for everything when people throw the "you hurt my feelings" flag? Why do we now feel the need to squash our own right to free speech? When did we lose the luxury of personal opinions and who the hell put the media in charge of this moral court circus? What happened to "sticks and stones"?

In this case, when did politics and politicians become so weak? How about you step up to the plate and take the heat, stop playing the game like a coward. Personal attacks? Gimme a break!

This goes for everyone - If you want to lead the most powerful nation in the world, then show some back bone! I can't believe how soft everyone has become in a span of less than ten years; our people and our leaders. It's a shame!

I don't understand why referring to the blue dress is such a no-no Thanks to Bill Clinton's tomcatting and Ken Starr's prurient imagination, the blue dress is in the public domain, just as for the foreseeable future is Client #9. Clinton's attack on Obama is a stain on his record (metaphorical stain), just like that stain (seminal) on that blue dress. It was the Clintons who started playing nasty. Their behavior now has convinced me that I was wrong in opposing impeachment for Clinton.

If by hook or crook, Hillary gets the nomination, I will hold my nose and vote for her, but for one reason only. She might—might, conditional verb—make better SCOTUS nominations than McCain. It's all tricks, from start to finish, from outburst to apology. First thought: you can't unring a bell. The statement is made, and the outburst is, well, out there, ringing through the night. With the apology, the outburst is still out there, only more so. You really can't lose the game as long as it's still ringing.

To answer one blogger, who was off the point: No, it is not right for a president, or anyone else, to lie to a Grand Jury, which begs the question why was a Grand Jury looking into a case of marital infidelity in the first place? It was a tricked-up matter (no pun intended) from start to finish, which had NOTHING to do with malfeasance in office or "high crimes and misdemeanors". Now, if you want to talk about Reagan's term (Grenada), or the first Mr. Bush's term (messing with tax forms, gutting the CIA), then you have a little something to talk about. As for the second Mr. Bush's term, he has given us enough "high crimes and misdemeanor" fodder to discuss for the next 1,000 years:
-malfeasance in office re FEMA and its Keystone Kops handling of the destruction of an important American city, which continues TO THIS DAY, years later!!!;
-the most outrageous, dirty, sneaky and licentious political games conducted by his paid minions, primarily Karl Rove;
-creating Signing Statements that create policy, while excoriating Congress for earmarks;
-attacking judges and firing Justice Department employees who do not agree with his POLITICAL aims;
-fictitious WMD and the attempted destruction of Hans Blix;
-the blackmailing of Congress in that they would not be "patriotic" if they didn't back his war;
-the crime of Treason in the outing of Valerie Plame as a covert CIA operative in payback for her husband's outing of Bush-Cheney lies and distortions in which, as it turns out, Wilson was absolutely 100% correct: Bush lied. And now 4,000 have died.

Need I go on??

Fact is, politics is a messy business. But the REAL business is the condition of this nation that we love so much. We are in deep fecal matter, and it is going to take a huge amount of work to dig us out of the cesspool the present occupant of the Oval Office has put us in. It was dirty political games that put him in office in the first place, and as voters (although, thank God, I was not one of them) who put him there, we have to ask ourselves, "Why?"
Campaign dirty tricks? Why, Republicans couldn't possibly be held responsible for, say, the Swift Boat Vets, the trick they played on Dan Rather's staff, the fairy tales they told about McCain in the 2000 election, the absolutely ridiculous attacks on Max Baucus' patriotism, yada, yada, yada. What are all those? If not a vast right-wind conspiracy, it sure makes for a really good imitation!

We are not a Republican country, nor a Democratic country, nor a country of any other One Party. We need to stop thinking in terms of 'party' and start thinking about the country.

Dirty political tricks--although far less sophisticated--are a tradition in American politics going back to the founding of our nation. The business of the people is to SEE THROUGH THEM, not swallow them like fish on a line!

By the way, has anyone noticed that Bill Clinton is not running for office?
It's Hillary Clinton who is running for office.
On her own merits, with her own qualifications out there for everyone to see.
Don't attack Barack through Michelle, and don't attack Hillary through Bill.
Why? First, it's a zero-sum game and second, because it doesn't matter, people.

Wake up, smell the freshly-brewed coffee, and realize when you're being manipulated, and when you've been had!

He is doing a great disservice to his own legacy and the good memories many of us had of his presidency. His statements are entirely UN-presidential and are extremely destructive to the Democratic party. Bill, you should just shut up now. Enough is enough! Bill Clinton knows what he is doing.

He is a master of throwing stones then trying to hide his hand.

The Clintons and the Clintonites want it both ways.

You are supposed to appreciate how slick they are.

But you are not supposed to hold them to anything they say.

Then, lo and behold, they get all prissy about an unfortunate mention of a stain on a blue dress.

The allusion wasn't uplifting, and therefore was unfortunate to be associated with the Obama campaign.

But even the mention doesn't compare with Bill Clinton's serial loutishness, and Hillary's enabling behaviors starting at least with Gennifer Flowers--all so she could share power.

The victims of Lewinsky et. al. were not the Clintons.

It may or may not have been Lewinsky et. al. (We were not there.)

And the victimizers were not just a band of hypocritical GOPers like Newt Gingrich and Bob Livingston.

The real victims were the American people.

Thanks for the memories, Bill, Hillary, Newt, Bob, and the rest of you who chose the paths you did and thus succeeded in making politics, not an honorable adventure as Robert F. Kennedy used to say, but a swamp tailor made for privateers.

(For those who mock Barack Obama's politics of hope, remember it was the tough but sensitive RFK who used to challenge us not to see things as they are, and ask why, but to dream of things that never were, and say, why not?)

Obama still offers that hope and those dreams.

Let's make politics an honorable adventure once again, Democrats.

But Bill and Hillary had their chance and blew it.

Let the torch pass to others, more ennobling and more worthy.

You're just another typical supporter! You don't care when YOUR side attacks, pulls punches, or anything else. But when the OTHER side has the temerity to respond, you're ready to damn them to hell! Why should I even listen to you people?

I wrote the paragraph above myself. Quick, tell me: which side do I support? You can't tell from those statements above, can you? Or else you thought it was a trick, so you quickly reversed it.

Think more about your OWN actions. ALL of you.

What if there were news stories about all these silly comments you're posting? And people were going "EWW! I hate their candidate!" It's not like any of the candidates can control these statements, and the more heated things get, the more of these are going to fly, no matter what the candidates want. They can't very well go around and appologize on behalf of millions of supporters, can they?

For the record, I'm not going to tell you who I support, only that I don't think any of the candidates want a dirty campaign. But the only way they can have a CLEAN one is if all of YOU calm down.

Some of you are way too uptight. In reality, whomever is elected, this country is still F**Ct. All candidates are too entrenched in the political dance to really be concerned about things important to everyday citizens. Wake up people, the election is one big distraction from what is really being taken away from us by both parties: freedom, liberty and the ability to choose.

Wow, two months ago the Demos were very united behind their 2 great candidates. That was before Hillary figured out that she was so far behind she could never catch up and win the election. Now, she can only steal it. She began the new stategy of "divide and conquor" the Democratic Party. And by listening to all the sniping on this webpage, she apparently has succeeded. You would expect this between liberals and right wing wackos. But between Democrats who all have mostly the same goals. A house divided falls.

All things considered, I would suggest nominating Al Gore to be the Democratic candidate. Let us call him back!! May look like a funny idea or something with a remote chance. After these types of punches and counter punches, it's inconceivable that either Hillary or Obama will get the entire, whol- hearted support of Democratic voters and sympathizers. If Hillary becomes the candidate, there is every likelihood that a good percentage Black voters may not vote in the election. The same with the "young, enthusiastic” voters who gave Obama the early momentum. They will be dispirited, and will stay home. If Obama wins, a good number of rural white democrats may not show any interest in voting. Believe it or not, McCain is the best candidate the Republicans could field and he may easily garner 50%+ of independent votes. Under the circumstances, Al Gore is the best bet for Democratic Party. He can unify the party; he has the experience; and he will not generate any enthusiasm among republicans to go to the polls.
So, in the interest of the Democratic party and the need of the our, I call upon all true democrats to request Hillary and Obama campaigns to release their delegates unanimously in favor Al Gore! AL GORE 2008!

Living with a bunch of overgrown babies is a real challenge, not to mention a nation of them. The worst example is baby Fischer, his action was a real insult. Not too much of the blue dress but the immediate apology. Why apologize? The action only infuriate his vast group of baby supporters who also happen don't appreciate older folks who brought them to this world. They probably hate their own parents who also probably made the wriong choice of having them.

Dear Hillary, it is about time to give up this bunch of babies and move on. You are so admirable as a daughter, a wife, a mother and a president. All the babies screaming and ranting will not detour you from feeding them with more milk. After all, they are the overgrown babies just like Ob....

WE are perpetuating this as much as the politicians. WE, as in the people of this great nation. WE perpetuate by endorsing one or the other candidate's supporter's comments and opinions. That is all we are talking about, right, someone's opinion? Wait, this is America, right? Let me step outside and check the flag thats flying over my post I'm serving at right now. . . . yep, still the Stars And Stripes. I'm here for you, I'm here for them, I'm here for myself and the people I protect. Let's show the world where we really stand by rebuking such behavior, no matter which side or which party it comes from. We have a right to our opinions and beliefs and no one should be ashamed of either of those of which many, many people have fought and died for. Don't get me wrong, I am no where near perfect, and when I meet the person that is, I know where I'll be, but until then, we all make mistakes. After all, we are human, vulnerable and strong - together.

The comment was uncouth and frankly this is why people should not vote for Obama. He surrounds himself with people who hate Hillary only because she is a woman. As a gay man I have very few people to look up to and Hillary is one of those people. It is sexist, wrong headed and humiliating to Bill and Monica. What has happened is in the past, let it go Mr. Obama.

The joke that has been going around about why Hillary wants to go back to the White House? There are some items she forgot to steal among the rest she took with her the first time. The China set has to be complete!
As a Republican,I believe that McCain is the only one qualified for the office of
U.S.President.One who served his country honorably,.he was tortured and anyone
can see that he loves his country. He was taught well in Annapolis.
I haven't heard about Obama's or Hillary's Service for their country./And futhermore
Bill Clinton fled the country, went to Canada and Russia so he would NOT have to
serve his country. When he was President all Nations were laughing at us!
Americans have NO choice who to vote for in November!!!

This is TOO funny!! The Democrats are their own worst enemy! All we Republicans have to do is just sit back until McCain secures the Presidency in November. Hell, even many moderate Democrats will most likely become disgusted with this childish mud-slinging, "he/she called me a name" game and vote for McCain. Waaaaa!! Boo, F...n, Hoo!! Grow up!! Btw, what happened to that Blue dress -such a true American icon should surely be given a prestidious place of honor or residence, along with the likes of the Bill of Rights, Constitution & the Liberty Bell! I'll bet THAT would have brought a pretty penny on eBay - serious campaign money there, Billery!

Last, but certainly NOT least - "Obamamania" (#44) Shut the F@#% UP, you RACIST CRETIN!! I'm NOT your "typical white person" - I sure as hell won't vote for Clinton - or Obama, for that matter!

I am having such a good time watching the DNC implode from having to hold back so much of their socially righteous hypocritical tolerance all these years... It just begs for the interjection of Rodney King's famous sound bite..... Can we all get along? -It would be hilarious, if it weren't so pointedly right. Even keeled Americans from both political parties, who believe in personal responsibility, should wait with the utmost respect for these so called Presidential Hopefuls to finish their comedy, and laugh only in the privacy and sanctity of their homes, and respond quietly on their way to the polls.

What Obama supporters are missing is that Sen. Obama keeps claiming he's above "dirty politics", but he's not. He's out there slinging it around just like everyone else. If he was at least honest about the fact that he's in this competition and will do anything to win, I'd have some modicum of respect for him. As it is, he just comes off as hypocritical, self-righteous and naive.

You know, I have believed in Hillary Rodham Clinton for over 20 years, having followed her years of service toward women, children, veterans, and this country. I have reached the point where a big part of me is beginning to wish that she would pull out of this campaign. I do not know how much a person can take with grace and dignity that she has displayed from white bubbas who want her to iron their shirts, to women who demand respect and yet cower to a man and hide their talents for fear of being unfeminine, to an historically underprivileged race who benefitted for years from the committment of both Clintons to make things better for them. If anyone seems to act as though they are entitled to this office it is Senator Obama and his followers. They are aghast that anyone dare challenge him, as though we "owe" him. She could be far more powerful in the private sector and make lots and lots more money. I think she has invested enough in this country and has had nothing but betrayal, vitriole, hatred. Most of these Democrats who speak with so much vile reference to her seem not to remember that the Republican Party smeared this President and his wife from Day 1 and all investigations proved charges and allegations were false and indeed in one case that a reporter was paid by the RNC to smear them. The President had oral sex in the oval office. That was not a cause for investigation and most of your husbands would also lie and probably are lying to you about their own behaviors. The RNC created another fiasco out of it to the point of impeachment hearings. He did not send 4000young Americans to their death in a war based on lies and personal hubris. He did not make the Constitution weak; the economy tank; civil liberties at risk. Why not rejoice that your candidate will probably win the nomination and place your anger where it belongs? On the Republican Party who has jeopardized democracy for the past 20 years with their manipulation and corruption of our democratic political system. This hatred really turns me off, blind hatred, and I will not vote for McCain or for Obama in November because I do not like their supportors. Ignorance. You sound just like Republicans; like the moral Christian Evangelicals who gave us GWBush. Shame on you.

We have 3 million bad home loans going into default at $400,000.00 a piece. That is 1.2 Trillion dollars at 6 percent interest which is 72 billion dollars.
Hillary Clinton is going to fix this mess with a measly 30 Trillion dollars? I've got some swamp land to sell you too.
Bill Clinton Claimed he payed down the budget deficit, and that he had a surplus during his Presidency. This is an urban legend created by Bill Clinton and facilitated by the inept news media.
Go onto Yahoo and use their search engine. Search...(Public Debt to the Penny).
On the left hand side of the Treasury Departments page you will see, (Historical Debt Outstanding). This lists in 50 year increments the United States debt from the inception of the United States.
The last time the debt was paid down was in 1957. Bill Clinton lied....and President Bush gave everyone a tax cut on Bill Clinton's lie.

Since neither bill,or Hillary Clinton, have the basic math skills of a fourth grader.....why should we let them back into the White House, to relearn how to count for eight more years?

Check out the website....the Treasury Department has no reason to lie about Bill Clinton's false legacy. He didn't pay down anything....he conned everyone.

All he has to do is sit back and watch them blow an election that was handed to the Democrats and he could use all this material they are putting out against each other against each one of them respectively. A damn shame and a shame to watch though it makes for good comedy and tragedy.

If the two camps continue to trade insults, there won't be any surrogates left to manage the campaigns. However, if one of Obama's henchman calls Hillary a teller of tall tales a.k.a. - a liar, the person would be correct. How about the "ducking to avoid a sniper" in Bosnia whopper Hillary mentioned recently. There is video tape to show that didn't happen. The truth apparently hurts (there was a stained dress), so it is better to flush the Clintons from the political scene before we have a rerun of the Clinton follies for the next 8 years.

They are all politicians. None of their hands are clean. That's the reality of politics in America. I have given up thinking I have to actually like the person I vote for. I don't have to believe in their moral superiority. I just have to believe they will do the best job of governing this nation from the available field of candidates, i.e. get us out of Iraq, put the economy back on track, reduce the obscene deficit the current administration has run up, protect my rights as a citizen, help working people more than the corporations and CEO's who are already skilled at helping themselves, play nice with the rest of the world. I'm tuning out the personal BS and looking at records, at experience and anything they have to say of substance. If I didn't look at it in this light, I couldn't vote for any of them.

Hillary supporters commenting here, are blaming Obama for a comment made on somebody's blog. The man who made the "blue dress" comment does not work for the Obama campaign.

The Clintons' behavior has been so disgraceful that I could never vote for either one of them... ever! It is clear that Hillary plans to beat Obama up from now until the convention... to do her best to make him unelectable. If she can't win the nomination this time, she and Bill would rather have McCain win so that Hillary can run in 2012. They couldn't care less what is best for the party.

Do you think that Obama is going to win because the Republicans have such a bad candidate?
Why did John McCain make his final argument against Obama... coal?
That's his closing argument? William Ayers, Rev. Wright, spreading the wealth, Born Alive, meeting dictators without preconditions, etc. all have to take a back seat so that McCain can go to Colorado and New Mexico to talk about coal? Does this more or less explain why he's going to get his clock cleaned Tuesday?
