Obama retools in Pennsylvania
PHILADELPHIA -- On the eve of his six-day bus tour of Pennsylvania, Barack Obama is bringing in a new operative to lead his efforts in the state.
Paul Tewes, who directed Obama's impressive win in the Iowa caucuses, will take over the Pennsylvania campaign from Jim DeMay, according to campaign sources. Tewes could not be immediately reached for comment.
Obama's national campaign has come under criticism from supporters that his defensive strategy in Pennsylvania -- designed largely to limit Hillary Clinton's ability to run up her popular-vote total -- was tantamount to conceding the state.
Even before Tewes's appointment was confirmed today, campaign officials had hoped that the extended bus tour -- a commitment Obama's campaign has not made to an individual state since Iowa -- and a sizeable advertising buy over the past week would help to quell internal skeptics.
"My guess is it's a smokescreen, I don't think it changes the strategy at all," said one Obama fundraiser in Pennsylvania. "I think a lot of people were catching wind of the fact that they were writing off Pennsylvania."

I think it's conceivable to say that Obama possibly has written off Pennsylvania; however, he needs to try and pull in at least 40% of the vote to show that he is electable in a state that is much like Ohio. It's going to take the people in that state a little longer to embrace someone of his magnitude.
I am an African American supporting Obama. African American's in Pennsylvania should support him 100%. How can you possibly be fooled into voting for Clinton? Is it because of what her husband did years ago? This is a shame. We have waited for this opportunity for years. Obama is credible, intelligent and a proven leader. Shame on you for not supporting him. What would your ancestors say? Wake up people of color. Be a part of history and stand up for what is right.
This report sounds bogus. No Obama staffer worth a damn would put such a negative spin on something about his candidate. And if he were a real Obama staffer, he would say, "...we were writing off" rather than the "...they were." That's one of the big problems with unnamed sources. Should have run it past an editor instead of just popping it on line.

Having lived in the Washington suburbs for years, it is my considered view that every effort should be made to not bring back any Clinton or Bush 2 like McCain from becoming the President. We must therefore break away from the divisive politics of their eras. I would fully support Barack Obama. He seems a talented individual with superior leadership skills and above all in tune with the issues affecting the man on the street.
The honorable folks in PA are being hood winked by the Clinton Folks, Hillary will tell then anything, just as she lied about the sniper fire. she had told that same story three times before. The phone is ringing and it is 3am maybe she needs to go find Bill to answer it for her.
After the debates, the mud, the pools, and the pundits it boils down to one thing: Who do we want as President to fix our ailing economy, get out of Iraq, restore our standing in the world, and lead with strength and vision. It's hard to overlook the speeches, because they are often our only view into the candidates' positions, unless we actually look at their experience, work in the Senate and how they have crossed party lines to build relationships. I like Hillary and her 35 years of working for Americans, and not just because she is now running for President. Three months ago I had never heard of Senator Obama, and I didn't have a particular in affinity for Hillary. But I started watching the debates and said "whoa, this woman knows her stuff"! Would it be easier if Hillary weren't a woman? Uh, yea, in a big way! There are folks who just can't get past a woman President. Would it be nice to have a President who actually gets things done for the average American and continues with the bridge-building? Yea! Do I have to want to have a beer with this person? Uh, no. I need a President to get it right and work their butt off for me and every other hardworking American. The problem I have with Senator Obama is not his race (I mean, how cool would it be to have a biracial President?!), the problem I have is his lack of experience, when I look at their two resumes, and his judgement when I look at his relationships, long ones. So, I am going to vote my gut and my head on this one. And unlike the pundits who want to pigeon hole me, I do like Senator Obama and would like to get to know him better, before we see him as President down the road.
They were writing off PA - who is "they?" Hillary, please sign your name if you age going to make these kinds of accusations.
it would possibly help Senator Obama to begin looking at some of these areas within economic contexts that are individualized. For so many, including myself, the home mortgage solution floats above our heads and spells a red flag as THE largest issue to be faced in a swiftly collapsing economy. And for those suggestions geared towards the fires - we are all looking forward to the seeds that might be sown. At which point, will our policy makers recognize those areas in economic slump such as Pennsylvania, parts of Maryland, Michigan, upstate NY etc cannot realize the type of industry that once sustained them by way of factories, and widget production. Innovation is going to be key to job development and production. At the end of the day, how to create jobs is going to be bottom line.

LOL, by the standards of poster #2 above, all people of non-color should be standing up for Hillary Clinton. Only blacks get to discriminate for candidates on the basis of their race. Call racially-based preference what it is - racism.
To Obama,
Speak as if speaking to the individual, not to the group, especially when speaking of personal economics. Delivery has to be more personalized.
H. Clinton does it very well.
I voted for her in Calif. but I'm pulling hard for you now. Didn't know much about you early on.
Celia
Obama should not write off Penn, l think he stands a chance of pullin-off the biggest surprrise of this whole campaign. People are simply waiting for him to move closer and more of a samall group rapp, really beyond the dream thing he must let the voters know his stand on real issues o healthcare, security, funding of college education, and jobs
Clinton's popularity is waning and her gaffs on Bosnia and Wright have not helped her campaign. Liberal democrats plus a solid large black turnout and the young vote can carry the day for Obama. If that happens Hillary will self destruct. Obama cannot afford to surrender or forfei tPa. to Hillary
Mrs. Clinton has demonstrated that she will lie about anything and everything.
( "Dangerous landings in Bosnia, being shot at by snipers, having to run for cover"............the video I saw of this event showed Mrs. Clinton and her daughter walking off of an air force jet and hugging an 8 year old Bosnian child).
Lying worked for Bill (her husband) and she is gambling that it will work for her too. In doing that, she is demonstrating that she thinks that Pennsylvanians are stupid enough to believe any lie she tells them.
I trust Pennsylvanians to stop the liar before she bleeds the life out of the Democratic party and hands the White House to a Republican again.
After eight years of George W. Bush and his lies, it's troubling to see that Mrs. Clinton wants to continue his legacy of lies. It's more troubling to see that there are enough voters who want to give her the chance to lie from the presidential pulpit
Obama campaign should not write off Penn, infact it could turn out to be the biggest upset of the whole primary exercise. He needs to move closer to the people and outline his plans on major issues such as healthcare, education, security and jobs. People are not daft. At worst he should try to pull within the single digit advantage of Hillary may be 50-4r5.
It is very sad to see how voters like the one above, want to vote for Obama, based on the fact solely that hi is African American. Wake up people, we are voting for a human being who can be qualified to lead the wealthiest country in the world, not to vote for someone because hi is black. I feel that most of Obamas popularity, roots from that very fact of his color, not of his capability. This seemingly underdog, poor, minority representative, is taking advantage of that appearance to win votes, although he says it otherwise. Vote for the depth of the ideals and the solutions offered to the many problems of the nation of the person, not for his appearance in color.
I live in the redneck waste land of PA, an area federally classified as depopulated and I can tell you if Barack were to make a bus sweep of PA, and it could be done in a few weeks. I would be willing to bet he would win PA just because the people in these areas would give him cred just for showing up. The problem is most of rural PA is publican and the chance to change your party for the primary is over. I still think he could do it just by cruising by.

I have not in this entire campaign heard of Obama "writing" off a state. Quite the contrary, each and every one is important as he has proven. Stay encouraged Pennsylvania - we will be doing support and calls for you from Minnesota!
Karen, stop pretending to be an AA and simply be the Clinton-supporting Troll that you are. Race baiting will not prevail. Listen to Obama's historic speech on race and grow up.
You should vote for Obama because he is the better candidate, period. His race and age have nothing to do with it. Read his platform and educate yourselves on where he has consistently stood on the Iraq war and it is a no brainer.
I've been concerned regarding his campaign in Pennsylvania. I'm hopeful he understands how important it is to not to lose in the double digets.
He needs to show that he cares about his voters in that state and let them get to know him. It's probably the most important state he has campaigned in, regardless of that fact Hillary seems to "own" it.
Surprise us!
I will pull no punches in this comment. I'm from Pennsylvania born and raised, and left, like most people from here seeking a better life and thinking people. I have returned to help Obama. I can't tell you how often I here the "N" word from seemingly good-hearted people who live here. The white ethnics here, like myself, and many elderly, tend to be very poorly educated and unsophisticated. Many have seen African Americans only in the movies and on TV with all the stereotypes attached. Obama is wise not to waste too much time and resources there. The demographics are pretty hopeless. His plan to limit his loses is a smart and realistic one.
The Clinton people are so manipulative, they will trick , lie, pretend and deceive, just as she demonstrated about her trip to Bosnia. They refuse to acknoeledge that the only way they won Texas and Ohio was because Rush Limbaugh got republicans to cross over and vote for her, so that she can be fodder for the republicans in november, if she were to win the nomination which is highly unlikely. Pennsylvania is a different story and it is the right time for Obama to start the march towards victory and a good strategy has been put in place to achieve that. She is like the bad penny that would not go away. her reasoning that Obama should leave his pastor or church is contrary to her not leaving her husband for repeated adultrous affairs, and disgracing the office of President. of The United States.she too had and have a choice. reneging on her and the other candidates agreement not to honor the Michigan and Florida Primary elections is sufficient to consider untrust worthy and unfit for the office of President.
I have to agree with Wesley. To my knowledge, Obama has not written off any state altogether anyplace (except perhaps during the Super Tuesday campaigning where it's physically impossible to be everyplace at once). There's a huge difference between "writing off" Pennsylvania and carefully calculating how much time to spend in particular areas based on current events. I believe Obama's choice to campaign early in NC, followed by a Pennsylvania follow-up somewhat closer to the election is thoroughly thought out. My guess is that he will do what he has in other challenging states: Focus on areas of high PA with particular demographics (high delegate count, where he's more likely to win), and heavily campaign in these areas.
It is very sad to see how voters like the one above, want to vote for Obama, based on the fact solely that hi is African American. Wake up people, we are voting for a human being who can be qualified to lead the wealthiest country in the world, not to vote for someone because hi is black. wes..i agree..clinton supporter..more like it..obama will be there for 6 days..when people get to see and hear him..the polls will tighten up..i am waiting for edwards to endorse obama..i am hoping before pa..not after nc. it would really help him in pa. i think..either way edwards will side with obama..
Bottom line is, Clinton can win 70% of Pennsylvania and it still would not pull her out of the graveyard of delegates. Clinton is on life support and it's just a matter of time before the plug is pulled. She, her surrogates and those 20 rich donors threatening the Democratic establishment with withholding funds, in their neverending coup attempt, are prompting many superdelegates to take a stand for Obama. This will all be over soon. Hillary's people will hopefully support the legitimate nominee and get on with the business of beating John McCain.
God bless America and God Bless Obama for President. Amen!
Obama-PA has just completed a massive voter registration effort that built a field force which is now ready to run a four week drive for votes.
The Clinton campaign is relying on Gov. Ed Rendell, very popular and very knowledgeable about the state - but also very much a pay-to-play politician.
It will be a classic contest between "the pro's" and "the new comers", between a "top-down" and a "bottom-up" organization. I believe that Obama can win PA and I wouldn't pay too much attention to polls taken before the final weekend before voting, and even those should be taken lightly. PA is the "let-me-think-about-it" state and many won't decide until they have to.
HRC needs to drop out of the race. She should drop Bill while she's at it since she was exhorting Obama to renounce his pastor.
both are fiddling..
while we burn
I agree with Wes Hughes. Something smells bad in this reportage.
It is a perfect time for Obama to go after Full Metal Jacket Hillary, heroine of the war in Bosnia, and Dear Hunter Bill, of well-documented activist presidency fame, in Pennsylvania.
The reasons the pundits give for why the state is Clinton country are at best transitory, especially if Obama barnstorms in a bus.
Karen I am very sure you are not African American. You are just trying to stir up some racial voting against Obama. Who are you trying to decieve. You arae not black or white but a deciever. Repent right now for the kingdom of God is at hand.
In reply to #2 comment "Wake up people of color. Be a part of history and stand up for what is right." Why should every African American support Obama 100% in Pennsylvania just because he's black? What would you say if all the white people said the same thing about voting for Clinton because she is a white woman? Wouldn't voting for Clinton because she is a woman be history also? I am also a black woman and I am not voting for Barack simply because he has now accepted the mantle of a black man running for President. We are just getting to know something about Barack aside from his Harvard law degree, his opposition to the war, his so called community service in Chicago and his three years in the US Senate. Anyway black people should not be badgered into voting for Obama simply because he is black. Why shame on those of us who may choose to vote our consciences, after weighing all the qualifications of the candidates. Finally I would say that 12 years ago President Bill Clinton was instrumental in helping to exonerate a family member who was discriminated against in the military. No, we are not fooled into voting for Clinton, we choose to do so because we want to.
I think it's interesting that Obama left for vacation and didn't return until after the registration was closed. He kept a low profile and suggested that they were not taking PA seriously. Meanwhile, according to Time.com, they were silently registering new voters, and now Obama is planning bus tours etc, after registration is closed.
I think is was an attempt to diffuse massive Limbaugh enrollment in the Dem party. Now, Obama will give PA the attention it deserves.
Senator Obama is once-in-a-geneartion leader who doesn't concede anything. He is a true leader the world need. It's hard to believe how some USA politicians have their heads buried so deep in the sand and don't see the extraodinally qualities of Senator Obama and still following bill clinton and his wife's old & dirty politics.
It is tough for me as a Canadian to believe how some Americans will be voting for hillary clinton, a woman who has prove time and time again to be a chronic liar.
Senator Obama will win PA, I don't see the good and decent people of PA taken hillary clinton's lies as a joke, the way she makes it seem on TV.
Adjei "Hussein" Boateng, Edmonton-Canada
How racist is that Karen McDonald? I am a democrat but I'm not voting for either of these two clowns.
Obama has also proved he will lie if put under pressure like he did when he said he hadn't heard Wright say any anti American statements.
Neither democrat is worth voting for, they both stretch the truth.
McCain has integrity and is honest. I'd vote for him.
Thank you Karen. I couldn't agree more.
Pennsylvania may be another Ohio, however, Hillary's credibility has much to be desired as revealed in her recent lies regarding her Bosnia trip. I believe that an aggressive attack on Hillary's credibility could yield some excellent results in that State. Hillary should not be allowed to can go on embellishing her record, and at the same time continuing to intentionally distort Barack's record and his campaign message. We need to beat this iron while it is hot. I am confident that Barack can do much better than 40% in Pennsylvania.
Karen McDonald, as an African American who supports Obama, I must say that I think our ancestors would say "don't vote for someone because he shares the same race as you, vote for who you believe to be the best candidate. If we voted for Obama simply because he shares our race then we would be no better then someone voting against him because he's not white.
Every effort has to be put in by The Obama Campaign into Pennsylvania, but don't under estimate the amount of work that has been put into specific areas!
I live in Philadelphia and I think Obama can win here. With Hillary's big gaff, Bosnia Sniper Fire, which some media writes off as just exxageration but to the people it is a breach of trust and goes right to the heart of character. She has been lying for years, so easily. She told a big one about Chelsea being near the Twin Towers during 911 which has not been fully exposed yet. She likes to tell tall tales to make herself look good, that equals Phony and those kind of people who lie for the sake of lying, well you cannot believe anything they say. I don't want that kind of President and I am not the only one. We are not dumb here in Pennsylvania.
I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm white and let myself corrupted by some of Clintons surrogates comments " white people won't vote for a Black person".
But Obama's speech on race turned my opinion around.
I think it's time for america to turn the page on all things that have been hurting us and dividing us. It's time for us to come together.
That's why I'm voting for Obama this coming april 22.
Karen McDonald, this is exactly the type of reasoning that will scare people from Obama. First of all, you're turning this into a moral issue when it clearly is not. Secondly, you're putting yourself on a pedestal and attacking those who do not support him. Thirdly, your entire appeal is based on racism. You're essentially telling people to vote for him because he's Black. This won't convert anyone and it has certainly dissuaded me -even though I am an Obama supporter.
That unnamed source's comment is so ridiculous. Obama chose the University of Pennsylvania in Philly as his venue for his magnificent speech on race. So much for writing off Pennsylvania, not to mention the enormous volunteer effort his campaign made to register and re-register Democrats in time for the April 22 primary. And now today comes the momentous news that newly elected SEnator Bob Casey (D-PA), who is the heir to a governor an d the most powerful political family in the state, is set to endorse Obama today. Go Barack!
Now is a good time to go afer those voters. Clintons are starting to show, to what level they will go. Thrash Obama and party for november ,if she don't get the nomination. If pensylvania voters can't see that , they deserve what they get. Clinton donors intimated Pelosi . Unamerica , Baby Jane.
It will say a lot if Obama can't win another big state that is key (no pun intended) to winning the national election. Remember PA can go either way it can go democrat or republican. Most of those small states Obama won are primarly red states where republicans are way in the majority. For instance Wyoming. While those votes are important the states where there are more people are the ones that are really important. If Obama can not win large populated states but even wins the small states he will not win the general election. If I sound pro hillary it is because I am. I am ready for change and I think a women can do that. I am tired of men running the white house and I am a man.
They did say "fundraiser", which likely means someone not directly employed by the campaign.
Also, it depends what you mean by "written off". I think Obama's campaign realized that OH/TX looked bad for them, precisely because they focused lots of energy on trying to break down Cinton's lead and well out-spent her and still couldn't manage to carry either state. This is the whole reason Clinton was able to turn that into her campaign's second coming. I would guess the campaign realized that 1) their chances of winning PA are slim, so 2) they want to keep expectations low. But I don't think they every wrote it off, in that the plan was probably always to put much tme and effort ino once more breaking down Clinton's lead and bringing it in as close as possible.
On which count, 40% would be ridiculously low, considering how far the primary is. 45-55 O-C strikes me as a fairly likely split; the question is if he can do any better than that.
I really want to be part of history. In this election history lies on Obama side and i want to tell my mixte race children i was alive when the world get united not by color but by coherence. Obama would make history and would clear up the doubt about black people competence.
Who wrote this,,,,,Hillary??
Timing and momentum are what Obama's stragegy has been all along. I think the country will be suprised at how well he is actually going to do in Pennsylvania. While he may not have enough time to take the state, it will surely send a message to the superdelagates that Obama can get out the votes in states where he is a huge underdog. I think if he nets 45% in this state, its all but over for Hilary. Will she do the right thing and conceed, nope.
I would hope Senator Obama does campaign actively in PA and am glad that Senator Casey joined his effort; but Obama's vote count in PA has little to do with his electability in November. Pennsylvania went for Kerry and will almost certainly go for either Obama or Clinton given a strong cooperative effort by all Democrats.
We need to look at the willingness of Obama or Clinton voters to support the other if that is the result of the primaries, not the specific ratio of Democratic votes.
Wes, it says Obama fundraiser, not staffer, which is probably why the comment is "they" instead of "we".
Is this Senator up for reelection or planning to run again?
Karen McDonald....I don't believe your African-American. Sounds like you're a troll trying to pretend. Vote for Obama because you believe in his leadership...not the color of his skin.
I am Hillary Clinton's base -- a white, over-50, middle-income woman who grew up in Pennsylvania. I and my husband -- an over-50 white man -- support Barack Obama 100% and will work 24-7 to help him become our next president. He is a brilliant, insightful, kind and honest man who will heal us and make us proud to be American again.
Hillary Clinton will lie in office just like Bush has done. I would say, let put someone in there who at least hasn't lied to us upfront. I am sorry, Hillary's 35 yrs. of experience, as we are seeing day by day, is boiling down like spinach.
i totally disagree with the poster who says that black people need to vote for obama. that is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous.
i have been a strong obama supporter from the beginning.
but race/sex should not be an issue when selecting a president.
please stop making such ridiculous assertions so people can choose their candidate on merit alone. obama is the clear choice when all the smoke and mirrors clear away.
Cliff (comment 50), I agree with you that PA is pretty solid Democratic win in November regardless of how the primary goes. I'm sure Gov. Rendell will be campaigning hard to bring the state in for the Democratic candidate spite of his wasting time prolonging Hillary's campaign now.
But I don't think the current polls of supporters who wouldn't vote for the other candidate are that worrisome. Passions are flaring now, and I don't doubt that some people will actually stay at home (or vote for McCain, or a third party, etc.), but probably a negligible amount. As long as this race ends in the next two months, the convention can bring all the supporters together again.
Hey Karen, #2.
Don't play me small.
Whether or not you are really black isn't the issue. I'm voting for Obama because he is the best candidate. He could be purple with green spots, for all I care.
Besides, that logic makes no sense. A black man would never get elected if only black people voted for him. You are just trying to race bait.
Stop it.
Sen. Hillary saying that Sen. Obama can not choose his Grand Mom but he can choos his pastor. What about her husband, he was cheated her with so mony women especialy with Monica Lewesky. Isn't he in fedality? So that she had a choice to leave him. But she still choose to live with him.
I have been working in Obama's Philadelphia office and can tell you that his campaign is by no means "writing off" Pennsylvania. Volunteers signed up tens of thousand of new voters (and some switching from I to D) and are now hard at work canvassing. The campaign is spending millions on advertising. When it comes to turning out the vote, there will be thousands of volunteers working to counter Clinton/Rendell's paid party workers. There were rumors around the office yesterday that a number of "really big" people in the campaign had surfaced in Philadelphia -- that part of the story seems to be true.
I'm an African American and a supporter of Obama. I can assure you are that Karen McDonald, poster #2 is definately NOT an African American. I'm sure she is some kind of plant perhaps from the Clinton or McCain campaign to stir up some mess. No self respecting African American would talk like she has. While I do admit that I take pride in seeing a fellow African American make it this far, trust me when I say that it's Obamas policy positions, his intellect, and the fact that he is a fresh new face (the latter what this country desparetly needs) that has led me to support him. All of that and the fact that he is from my home state of Illinois, although I live in Atlanta now. I don't think for a second and he should and is not conceeding PA to Billary. While I'm not 100% confident that he can overtake here there, I think he could at least make it a single digit margin, much like he did out in Nevada which would be considered a win for him.
To vote for Hillary Clinton sends a clear message to our children and young people that your word does not matter, the rules are to be flouted unless they serve your interests, and lying is just fine. Is this the kind of role model we want for our kids? What does that say about us that we are willing to tolerate such deficiency of character in a President, or Senator for that matter? Is this the standard we want to set for young women ... of what we expect of the First Woman President of the US? Has the country been brought so low, that this kind of character and behavior is all we aspire to in a President? As a woman, she offends me ... her lack of honesty and integrity ... As far as I'm concerned the gender glass ceiling can remain in place until it is broken by a woman who is authentic, honest, integral and empowered from within. THAT woman nominee wouldn't believe she must lie, distort the truth, flout the rules and discount her word in order to win. Hillary's behavior really tells us a lot about her. Basically, that she has no strong sense of her Self. No center core or solid inner foundation. She just blows in the wind, seeking power outside herself, is narcissistic and lacking in social conscience when it comes to the Democratic Party. She demonstrates over and over again how easily she is influenced by others and her own ambition. Please do not vote for Hillary Clinton for these reasons.. Please do not accept that standard for our children or for the country.

Is Hillary Clinton still in this race? Why? We've had enough lies in the white house. So that last straw, Clinton laughing over her 'recollections' of being hit with sniper fire in Bosnia did it. What a travesty. And she hasn't even aplogized to our troops for that continuous lie she's been stating. She will carry this same deceit, same lies straight into the white house, she will be a 3rd Bush Term and all she will say at the end is, "So, I'm human". That's what Barack should say at the end of any controversy. McCain does that too. He tells the press he won't answer any more questions about the matter. He too is a third Bush term. Vote Barack Obama Pennsylvania!
The Boston Globe is not supportive of Obama. It tends to side with the conservative Clinton base and/or Republicans.
Not sure how much credibility this has.
Well said, Wesley G Hughes (poster #3). This annonymous Obama fundraiser, may have been Rilo ( a homeless brother with a sign, hanging out at a local mini mart).
He hasn't written it off, he's working on a silent coup. Clinton believes she's invincible in Pennsylvania so Obama acts like she is. Behind the scenes though he's stoking fires in places that favor him and changing hearts and minds in places that dont. Pensylvania will end up being like the texas primary in reverse.
Wow. To Emilio and Sunny Florida...continue to do your research and you'll see that Obama actually has 50 percent more elected legislative experience than Hillary. Quick, name me one piece of substantive legislation that she has AUTHORED and passed as a U.S. Senator. So where is this huge experience gap she claims? Is it because she's 15 years older? Age doesn't guarantee good judgment, just ask the experienced senators and representatives who now apologize for their yes votes on the Iraq War resolution. And don't give me the tired old line from Hillary that she was voting to give more time for weapons inspectors. That's about as believable as her claims of dodging sniper fire in Bosnia.
I am an African American woman and I have a problem with the blogger above who implies that AA's should vote for Sen. Obama based on race only. Not a good argument.
I am a Obama supporter but not based on his race, but on the issues, Health care, economy, iraq war, etc. I want him to win, but please people listen to the issues. A lot of women are voting for Hillary because she's a woman. I've always thought that was a stupid reason to vote for some.
You know some Caucasians don’t get it…..They say WE blacks vote for OBAMA because he is black.
May I remain you when JESSE JACKSON ran he only got a average of 70% of the black vote.
This time around OBAMA is getting close to 90% PLEASE REALIZE THIS THE REASON FOR THAT IS BECAUSE NOT ONLY IS HE BLACK….BUT BECAUSE. Finally us black have the best of both world. The best candidate that happens to be black. That’s why he has our vote. JUST LIKE ALL OTHER WHITE CANDIDATES THAT OUR DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAS RUN AND WE BACK.
In my humble opinion am sure the white members of our party will back our democratic candidate the same way we have for over 200 years have back all our candidate regardless of color…. And may GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I think if you want to know Obama, you have to look into his past and see if it's consistent with what is presented in front of you. I have read opinions from a few of his former students when he was a professor, yes professor, at Chicago U. And the image they paint of him is consistent with his campaigning style. He lets the voters be involved in the process, let's them think for themselves to come up with the solution. Basically he is the only candidate who actually doesn't want to lead sheep.
If she wants to stay on the race fine, but she has to acknowledge the fact that she needs a miracle to win the nomination.Clinton should please drop out of the race for the interest of the party and the country ,for this historic time to take place in our country with Barack Obama as our president.
Bloggers need a good editor...keep it down to a paragraph and to the point; spell correctly and use Caps like you were writing for real, for readers you give a shit about. Who what where when and why important are still the great five W's.
We've have had one awful W in Washington for nearly eight years.
Go Obama! And if it ends up a brokered convention, go Gore-Obama, and we'll finally get a government as good as the people who elected it.
Jerry in Tennessee
That will be the greatest victory if Obama can upset Hillary in PA. She probably won't get out of the race, but I think she will be pressed even more by the party insiders to do so. Come on PA prove the pundits, polls, the governor, american people, that it is not nice to count your chickens before they hatch
Obama 08 !
Obama is basically a racist. There are too many white poeple in PA so he doesn't feel there are enough Black Block voters to swing it for him.
For a man who says he wants to move beyond race, his actions don't support that. I'm angry because I have never been called a racist in my life, until I came out in support of Hillary over Obama.

For Hillary she should win because some states have value , some don't, talks about honesty, even if she is not, I would like to know about her business in California with their rich friend, where is her income going?, why she does not release her tax papers? Here in Arizona I gave her my vote but I am totally upset to see how much she lies and the way she attacks Senator Obama. Senator Obama has showed us a better chance to really work for the people and not with someone that is telling us what we want to hear even if it is not true just like NAFTA. Senator Obama conducts himself with class and decency and this virtues won't allowed him to call G. Richardson a "Judas".
Obama's campaign so far is tantamount to a large-scale sociological experiment that demonstrates a strong negative correlation between education and racism. The less educated someone is, the less likely that person is to support Obama. He did not intend to do this experiment, but this is precisely what he has done.
The outcome surprises those of us who view racism as integral and fundamental to the American culture. If true, the Obama phenomenon suggests education might just be the way to the future. Judging by the facts regarding education in America, unfortunately, that future is very far away indeed.
SENATOR OBAMA,
PENNSYLVANIA WAS FOUNDED BY THE QUAKERS-THEY HAVE MEETIN PLACES; OTHER CHRISTIANS & JEWS FOLLOWED AND THEY WORSHIP IN CHURCHES & SYNAGOGUES. MUSLIMS, HINDI, AND CONFUSIONISTS ARE INCLUDED WORSHIPING IN MOSQUES, HINDI ALTARS & AT CONFUSION SHRINES.
SO! THOSE AMONG THE RELIGIOUS DENOMINATIONS & SECTS IN OUR COUNTRY WHO SUPPORT THE TENETS OF THEIR FAITH[S] DO SO BECAUSE THEY ARE PEOPLE OF FAITH, AND NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE BITTER. IDARESAY!
GUNS HAVE BEEN AND ARENECESSARY FOR HUNTERS...IN GOOD TIMES AND BAD...
AND!! XENOPHOBES DON'T BECOME SUCH AS A SOURCE ARRIVED AT THROUGH BITTERNESS??!! SENATOR, I ABSOLUTELY DON'T BELIEVE THAT JOBLESSNESS CREATES BITTERNESS AMONG AMERICANS & TURN THEM INTO PERSONS WARY OF THE IMMIGRANTS AMONG US. STRANGERS COMING TO AMERICA HAVE ALWAYS EXISTED.
LIFE IS NOT AND WILLBE A STRAIGHT ROAD TO EVERYTHING. THE CHALLENGES OF AMERICA ARE WHAT BROUGHT US TO OUR NATION'S GREATNESS.
ARE THERE ANY MORE "PUT-DOWNS" TO LET THE POPULACE HEAR? WE CANNOT BELIEVE THAT YOUR PREJUDICES GAVE US BUT THREE.
