One win enough for Clinton, Democrats say
Heading into make-or-break Tuesday for Hillary Clinton, Democrats across the country tend to agree with many of her most prominent supporters:
If she loses both Ohio and Texas today, it's time to give up the nomination fight. But if she wins either -- and the late polls suggest she is surging in both toss-up contests -- she should fight on.
Barack Obama, however, is still favored as the nominee by a 50 percent to 43 percent margin among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll out today.
In the survey, 67 percent of respondents said Clinton should stay in the race even if she loses either Ohio or Texas. Nearly half of Obama supporters agree with that thinking, while 91 percent of Clinton backers do.
Only 45 percent, however, said she should keep her bid going if she loses both. Only 25 percent of Obama backers believe that, and 69 percent of Clinton supporters do.
In the poll, Clinton was also Democrats' most popular choice for vice president should Obama win the nomination. She had the support of 36 percent, compared to 11 percent for John Edwards, 3 percent for Bill Richardson, 1 percent for Al Gore, and 1 percent for Joe Biden.
The survey was conducted from Thursday through Sunday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points among Democrats.

HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON is the right president for America.
VOTE - "MY AMERICAN MAMA" - HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON - PRESIDENT!!!
America's True Presidential Leader - President!!!
VOTE - HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON - PRESIDENT!!!!
I agree that if Hillary were to lose both Ohio & Texas, then she must negotiate with Obama to step aside. The negotiation should revolve around her selection as the VP for Obama. If she only wins Ohio, but runs closely with Obama in Texas, then she should stay in through Pennsylvania because she has the argument for the popular Vote should she do well there, however this will depend on what the Super Delegates do on Wednesday, as there is thinking that they may jump to Obama in droves which would wipe out any chance for Hillary. If this happens as expected, then Hillary needs to take the lead & work out the details to step aside gracefuly & be able to lock down the VP candidacy. The Democratic PArty needs this to happen in order to guarantee the untiy of the party as well as the nomination in November. If Hillary wins both States even if it only barely changes the delegate race, then the party needs to seriously consider her as the nominee for Dem Presidential candidate going forward. Obama needs to be the VP for the same reason as noted above. Either way will be a "Dream Ticket" for the Country
who cares hillary clinton is a communist and has no experiance doing anything political besides watching her husband play his saxaphone and have monica under his desk.
I think Hillary would be a great President, her ideas are good and her experience and intelligence are also an asset. I would love to see her win the nomination. However, if she doesn't get the nomination, I will vote for Obama...I'll NEVER vote for McCain or Huckleberry,
I want clinton to be president and obama for vice president. they would make a dam good team together
As an Obama supporter, I feel like a confederate soldier at Gettysberg just before Pickett's Charge: so close, but on the verge of something terrible. I have a feeling Clinton will take both Texas and Ohio with very strong showings. She'll be the nominee, replacing Obama's hope and enthusiasm with the Democratic Party's traditional image of entitlement, and uniting the right behind McCain.
Oh well. Maybe we'll get out of Iraq in 2016, right after the number of Americans without health insurance passes 100 million.
Hillary will find a way to "steal" the election like the items from the White House!
Hillary needs to leave the race. Having 2 people vying for the democratic nomination is detrimental to a party that desperately needs to defeat its rival this election. We need one clear front-runner so the party can focus on how to win against McCain instead of how to beat the other guy on their side.
GObama!
Anyone who will end the war in Iraq before 100 years has my vote.
I believe it could be the end for either or neither.
If she looses both TX and OH she is done. If she wins one, she is alive and of course so is he.
If she wins both, it is he who should quit.
He has yet to show that he can win a large important state. If he can't win OH or TX, the writing should be on the wall for him.
WOW a historical election in that I can talk in pronouns!
A happy democrat either way but leaning her way.
And what has Obama done politacally.....he is just a good talker !!! that will help the country !!! keep fighting Hillary ,the rest of the country will wake up soon !
How quickly people forget that the eight best economic years that we have had in recent memory was on the Clinton's watch! We need from the Clinton's another eight years of making the same tough positive decisions now that they made routinely back then.....not just a bunch of airless rhetoric expounded from the Obama camp!
After loses today Hilary should step aside, Democrats need to realize that Hilary is not electable, she has a 46 negative point rating nationwide, no one has ever won the election with those kind of negative ratings. If Hilary was the nominee slews of independents and even Deomcrats who cant stand Hilary would vote for a very liberal Republican Mcain. Obama is the one who could win the election for the party but leave it up to the party to put up a unelectable canidate like the last two elections. And Hilary as VP is crazy, they could never get along and its not going to happen, Biden should be the choice. He has more creditbility in foriegn politics and what going on with war than any canidate including Mcain and would bring creditibility and expierence to Obamas campaign which is the only angle Mcain will have to attack him. Democrats need to think of the real election when selecting a nominee instead of just handing the election to Republicans with this Hilary nonsense. And Im not biased against women, Id vote Nancy Pelosi in two seconds for office, Obama is the clear choice for the party.
A vote for Clinton is a vote for McCain as it further divides the democratic party! Do the right thing - vote for OBAMA!!!!
