What did you think of Obama's speech?

  1. Barack Obama is a courageous and truly different politician -- he IS a politician, but there's an honesty, even a humility, I've never seen in a public figure. I will vote for him because I truly believe he's our best hope for real change. I'm afraid of what others are doing to capitalize on fear and prejudice. I think Obama did a wonderful job today in that speech.

  1. I cant believe that this man is not yet the Democratic nominee for the presidency. What the people who continue to vote for Hillary demonstrate is that America has it share of Idiots and Morons. Hillary, heaven doesn't have to open for things to change as you claim Obama believes. You just have to open your eyes as he has.

  1. As usual Barack gave a good speech and that is to be expected since he has a good speech writer. However, as much as he repudiated what the hate speeches of his pastor, he did not disassociate himself from the church and the pastor. After appearing on TV and expressing that he was not in the pews during the times the Reverend was cursing America, Barack finally came clean and said yes he was there. Of course the slickster thought he could appear on the networks and brush off his reverend's sentiments, but he had to address the issue.
In Barack's speech he talked about the anger in the black community, about busing and such. He never had to experience these things, and is the beneficiary of all the work and people who fought for civil rights. I am glad that someone brought this to light or we would be marching right down to November without really knowing the Real Obama. How can he compare a few racist remarks about black men by his grandmother to the many hate speeches by Reverend Wright? His grandmother had reason because she was most likely upset and resentful with how his African father abandoned him and his mother, just like many black men today dessert their families leaving children to be raised by their mothers. That is one reason why there is so many black youths killing each other, dropping out of school, doing drugs and ending up in federal prisons. I wonder if Obama was ever a Big Brother in the community? Too often the few black men who achieve success forget that they can be mentors to young black youths. During his campaign Obama tried not to be the Black Candidate and he has failed to fully address the issues that are facing the black community. Also, he should have condemned Reverend Wright's remarks during these ten or twenty years. Obama has been brainwashed for all these years, and his judgment is questionable.

  1. Its another day in US politics and the numbers are not that good. On the one side we have Obama. A man with a simple message. The message being that US policy has for too long been driven by vested interests and no longer is representative of the people. One the other hand we have Hillary "Under Sniper Fire" Clinton. Seems Hillary is closing the gap. I cant understand it. Im guessing those who want to vote for Hillary are wetting their pants with excitement to see the photo in the Time Magazine of Hillary's swearing in with Bill and Chelsea looking on lovingly. Shards of afternoon sunlight reflecting off her face in the Autumn sunlight and people cheering wildly.
For them this is all that matters. They get a warm fuzzy feeling from knowing that

Bill is back in the white house. This is the stuff of movies and lets face it Americans love em and they salivate after these improbable endings.
This was the same reason they elected George W. It gave them that warm fuzzy feeling seeing the son swearing in with the father a former president, looking on.
Well? how did that work out huh? You guys in the US have seen the single biggest loss in goodwill in your history. You have seen your president being the laughing stock of the entire planet. You dont have a shred of credibility in international affairs. The US dollar is ceasing to be a currency of reckoning. The Euro is fast becoming the currency of choice. The oil price is at record highs because those dictators you protect in the middle east will not listen to your requests to increase production. This has been the byproduct of your decision to elect a man purely to fullfill some celluloid fantasy.
The election of husbands, wives, children to position of high political office is a game played in the third world and does not need to be part of US politics. The chaos in the third world is enough reason to know that it does not work.
The stakes are too high for this. We(the rest of the world) need leadership from the US to counter the enviornmental crisis that the planet faces. We need leadership from the US to address the humanitarian crisis that Africa faces. We need leadership from the US to settle the middle eastern Crises that have been dragging on for far too long.
We do not need a US president distracted wondering who is giving Bill a blow job now?
We dont need a president who invents blatant lies about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia.
We do not need a president who neglects to read the brief handed in, regarding the Irak situation and votes for a war without any justification.
Who hopes to win by making the oponent look bad rather than making herself any good.
We need a President in the US who is honest.
Not tainted by the Irak war.
Who brings hope rather than fear
Who can provide leadership to the wholeworld not just the Rednecks, the old and senile.
Who does not try to spin everything into digitial soundbites
Who can bring credibility back into the US presidency and politics.
Surely Obama is this man. I am not an American citizen and I live in Melbourne Australia.I can see this from way out here. America, how is it that you cant?
