Clinton starts ad barrage in Pennsylvania
Her lead in the polls dwindling in must-win Pennsylvania, Hillary Clinton is flooding the state's airwaves with new TV ads.
The five ads include glowing testimonials from her highest-profile supporters, Governor Ed Rendell and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.
Rendell predicts Clinton will be a "spectacular president." "It's going to take a fighter to get us out of the mess this country's in," he says in the spot, citing her proposals on jobs and healthcare. "When she believes something has to be done, she just won't quit."
Another ad is a sepia-toned ode to her ties to Scranton, where her father was born, and where she says in the ad she was raised "on pinochle and the American dream."
Barack Obama has been vastly outspending Clinton on the airwaves leading up to the April 22 primary with ads focusing on his pledges to fight for jobs and against special interests in Washington.
