Clinton starts ad barrage in Pennsylvania
Her lead in the polls dwindling in must-win Pennsylvania, Hillary Clinton is flooding the state's airwaves with new TV ads.
The five ads include glowing testimonials from her highest-profile supporters, Governor Ed Rendell and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.
Rendell predicts Clinton will be a "spectacular president." "It's going to take a fighter to get us out of the mess this country's in," he says in the spot, citing her proposals on jobs and healthcare. "When she believes something has to be done, she just won't quit."
Another ad is a sepia-toned ode to her ties to Scranton, where her father was born, and where she says in the ad she was raised "on pinochle and the American dream."
Barack Obama has been vastly outspending Clinton on the airwaves leading up to the April 22 primary with ads focusing on his pledges to fight for jobs and against special interests in Washington.

So Clinton is making a push for the female vote. Is this news ?
Good for her!
I just watched her this morning as a member of the Armed Services Committee questioning General P. on the Iraq War Situation. She was so articulate and right on in her questioning.
Bottom line--of the three candidates left standing, she is the best choice if one were to disregard race, gender, and age and base their vote solely on:
Diversity of Work and Life Experience
Years of Public Service and Accomplishments in Public Service
Breadth and Depth of knowledge on a diversity of issues and detailed policies
Strength of Character and Resolve
Evelyn,
She would not fire her lying Chief Strategist Mark Penn! What kind of character does she have?
It doesn't matter what happens in Pennsylvania, or other states that follow, since Barrack Obama's delegate lead is unsurmountable. It is all about the people's vote, and it's all about pledged delegates. If anything else hhappens that takes away the nomination from the one who has the delegate lead at the end it will spell disaster for the democratic party for decades to come. It may even end up splitting it into two. All this talk about superdelegate overturning the will of the people is pure hogwash. They are politicians and they know what it means to go against the will of the American people. It's called DEMOCRACY and we all love to talk about it, even the Clintons.
The Clinton couple have decided sometime after South Carolina that they needed to remind us that Obama was black. That his candidacy was a fairy tale, and that we needed to "get real" and realize what we're trying to do. As a result Mr. Obama had to pass the race test by publicly reject and denounce other black man like minister Louis Farrakhan, his former pastor or any black person who ever said anything that could be considered "unpatriotic". No other candidate had to prove themselves to be American enough. Without any complaint he picked the mike, he spoke and told us that he is American and proud to be so. The greatest thing that we have experienced in this primary election, is the fact that there are more rational Americans who are willing to look at a person based on the content of his/her character than the rest of us, and in that sense we can say that Dr. King's dream is starting to become a reality. We can also thank the education system, since every poll show that Mr. Obama's acceptance is higher among the educated both black and white. Something that is readily apparent when one considers that the older a person is the more likely he/she is to vote for Hillary, while the younger generation adores him. Indeed, it is a great day in America.
Evelyn,
The only people talking about race and gender are those outside of the Obama campaign. If you go on Hillary's website it seems to be a non-stop "Yeah Women!" blog post after another. With Obama, it has nothing to do with race so please get over this.
I am 38 years old and my generation doesn't see color like the previous generations. This is true. In fact, I can honestly say that I did not even consider his "race" until the media, of course, had to point it out.
"Strength of Character and Resolve", well this one definately goes to Obama.
Good luck...
My choice is based on who would be better for America. Obama would bring the country together, Hillary would divide us. Obama is respected abroad , Clinton is not. We really do need a fresh start and a leader who won't encourage more infighting and gridlock in Washington. Obama discusses, Hillary argues. Obama is thoughtful, Hillary seems rash.
Right On Hillary! Don't give up the fight. Keep on persevering. I totally agree with the sentiments expressed about you by EVELYN. As for Jim #5 it is interesting that it is Hillary's supporters are the only people talking about race. It cuts both ways because the overwhelming majority of blacks are supporting Obama, but you wouldn't think that is the reverse of white women supporting Hillary. Why would the media have to point out Obama's race for you to see? It is quite visible to the naked eye that he is a light skinned black man. Don't think for a moment that Obama's acceptance to your generation means that America is all of a sudden color-blind society. I know because I am the same complexion as Obama owing to inheriting genes of my father and Irish grandfather. I also believe that throughout the campaigns it is Hillary Clinton who has really shown "strength of character and Resolve." I admire her spirit--she gets knocked down, yet she gets up, dust off herself, and keep going. Reminds me of the energizer bunny in the commercial, it just keeps on ticking.
How can anyone even consider a candidate that bankrupted her campaign; She ran out of money because she did not plan ahead....... She voted for a war that has cost us our security in our country... I personally called her and wrote her to ask her to really look at the facts before she voted for the war... I never got a call back and she says she never read the entire report......She has lied about her Bosnia experience........She is not someone I want as president..... We woman need to insist that we get a candidate that will protect our future
In addition she now has changed her view on Michigan and Florida... She now says we need to worry about them even though she originally agreed with the DNC decision. AS A MOTHER I DO NOT WANT MY CHILDREN TO HAVE A PRESIDENT WHO GOES BACK ON HER WORD... SHE HAS LIED AND MISREPRESENTED HER EXPPERIENCE.....
