Democrats' latest attempt at humor
Hillary Clinton went again for self-deprecating humor in her latest comedy show appearance to try to humanize her image.
In the skit on "The Colbert Report" Thursday night on Comedy Central, a technician couldn't fix the big screen on the set. Clinton came out on stage and instructed how to repair the screen. Then, she told host Stephen Colbert that his forehead looked a little shiny and called out the makeup artist.
"Wow, Senator Clinton, you are so prepared for any situation!" Colbert exclaimed. "I just don't know how to thank you enough."
"I just love solving problems," Clinton replied.
"Call me any time. Call me at 3 a.m.," she added, referring to her series of TV ads in which she declares that she is ready on day one to deal with the middle-of-the-night international or economic crisis.
Clinton, however, didn't have the show -- broadcast from Philadelphia five days before the crucial Pennsylvania primary -- to herself.
Barack Obama appeared via satellite on the big screen. "Won't Senator Clinton be happy that she fixed our screen?" Colbert quipped.
Obama then repeated his disdain for the "manufactured distractions" brought up during Wednesday night's debate -- the questions about campaign controversies that had been repeatedly chewed over already.
Colbert replied that the news media wasn't tired of the issues because they could ask the same questions and didn't have to do extra work.
But then Colbert relented and added "DISTRACTIONS" to his "On Notice" big board.

Hmm, shouldn't the title be DEMOCRAT'S Attempt at Humor, since it looks like only one of them actually attempted to be funny?
Self-deprecating humor > Repeated disdain
