Hamilton endorses Obama
Barack Obama won a noteworthy endorsement today that could help him in the battleground primary in Indiana and also in shoring up his national security credentials.
Former US Representative Lee Hamilton of Indiana, vice chairman of the 9/11 commission and a veteran voice on foreign affairs, praised Obama's ability to unite Americans and to bring new people into the political process.
"His foreign policy is pragmatic, visionary, and tough. Barack Obama understands the urgent need for American leadership in confronting many of the challenges ahead, first and foremost defending the safety and security of the American people. He will work with our friends and allies. Obama will strengthen our ability to use all the tools of American power, and relentlessly promote the American values of freedom and justice for all people," Hamilton said in a statement provided by the Obama campaign.
Hamilton, who is now president and director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and director of The Center on Congress at Indiana University, represented Indiana in Congress for 34 years.
The state holds its primary on May 6, and it is shaping up as the next big showdown between Obama and Hillary Clinton, with Clinton favored in Pennsylvania on April 22 and Obama in North Carolina on May 6.

Hamilton recognizes what many of America's youth recognize as well as the legions of American voters who intuitively understand that without great leadership that transcends the bitter politics of the last several decades America is in trouble.
We may all be witnessing history in the making as numerous crisis converge on America, Barack Obama may well be the next great American President like Lincoln and FDR who saved America? Lets us hope!
Congradulations to the Obama campaign for this important and timely endorsement by Lee Hamilton. This is a welcomed trend of endorsments that we pray will continue before it falls out of fashion, when "everyone" who is anyone endorses Barack for the nomination and Presidency. Obaqma 08.

Can you say: fawning?
This guy is so tilted that the leaning Tower of Pisa makes for straight Eiffel Tower.
Got it. You love Obama. Objectivity is key to excellent reporting. I call this write up free ad.
Obama's Scrambling for Endorsement's and Public Points to discredit Clinton After his Wright incident.
Barack Obama also has the endorsements of Louis Farrakhan, the Wright Reverend Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, Tony McPeak and Tony Rezko. Are you trying to make a point other than Democrats like Hamilton and Richardson just want to stop the bloodletting ceremony of the party? Press alt-control-delete and start over; the DNC cannot reverse the major mistakes of selecting these two candidates without bothering to do the necessary vetting. The facts speak for themselves, neither candidate has the experience to become c-i-c or control foreign policy. Hillary has too much baggage only superseded by Barack's empty suitcase. This is a time of great peril and the future of the U.S. does not need the guidance of a novice.
To #4 Robert and #5 Frederick Satkin (you tried to say “Wrong”): Re: Rev. Wright.
Clinton family during their years in the White House attended the Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington DC. As did many other presidents in the Church's 150 years history. On March 19, 2008, this Church posted a Statement in defense of Rev. Wright on its website www.foundryumc.org. Its senior Pastor Dean Snyder provided his moral position about the snippets fed to the public by Fox and other media in his Easter sermon. You can read the sermon on his site as well. On the same date the arch conservative former pastor Mike Huckabee also defended Rev. Wright on Morning Joe, suggesting that the “controversy” will be a non-issue for Obama in November. Google "huckabee wright" for a transcript. The Trinity United Church of Christ is integrated and conciliatory (open to all races and gay persons), and is not racist; it is “ethnic”, like Jewish synagogues, Korean Christian churches, Native American Churches, and hundreds of other churches in the United States. Its denomination is Christian and 95% white. Many other important religious figures have defended Rev. Wright and his Church since. Google " Open Letter To Senator Clinton From Diverse Group of Prominent Religious Leaders". Perhaps your own Church has done so as well – do check.
It is obvious that these men like Lee Hamilton, Bill Richardson, Casey from PA, Kerry, Kennedy, are really determined that the first woman candidate not succeed as President. Although this woman is so qualified, they cannot justify having a woman giving them orders. These people are trying to shut Hillary down, but she will Rise above the fray and be Victorious.
Hamilton actually made the decision to support Obama, weeks ago, before the Rev Wright issue. His reasoning is on target and along with the endorsement, he gave assurances that both candidates are superior to the offering from the "other" party...
